For the first time in over 30 years of buying from LL Bean I am disappointed in a purchase. These slippers have holes in the soles in less than a year. They are supposed to wear better than this!

I have purchased the Men's Bison slippers for many years. Previously I would replace them about every 2 years as the leather sole would wear through. I once again purchased them as a Christmas 2022 gift. To my utter surprise and complete disappointment the soles are wearing completely through to the point of a hole.

The shoes are irrelevant. The purchase was the problem. After i had purchased the shoes and my credit card had been charged, I was charged an additional amount several fays later, without explanation. I did not authorize a second charge. This is illegal.

Not at all like described. Sent back, received by LLBean on 1/5/23, and STILL NO REFUND. Totally bad experience. Don't have time for this

Purchased these slippers to replace a pair of moosehide slippers that I purchased from LL Bean several years ago. I'd still be wearing the old pair, but I wore a hole in the sole. While I had no complaints about the quality/ longevity of the old pair, I figured that something advertised as double sole would give me some additional miles before needing to be retired. I was also looking for another pair of unlined slippers which is entirely suitable for warmer climates. They were a perfect fit requiring only minimal break-in.

Bottoms of the slipper for my husband were too slippery to walk in.

Very slippery to walk in. Exchanged them for Elk hide slippers for safety purposes. Happy with the exchange.

The slippers have a piece of leather that runs over the top of the foot and rubs, They are stiff and not comfortable.

I bought these slippers about 6 to 10 months ago. The reason I bought them is that many years ago I bought some very similar and loved them but of course over time they wear out. I decided to pay the extra money (over $100) because these were supposed to be of higher quality. When these were new they fit very well and were comfortable to wear...until they weren't. About two to three months after I bought them I noticed that there was an uncomfortable feeling in the sole. They were said to have a "double sole" and should last a long time. So I just assumed it might take me a while to "break them in". Over the next few months it was more than uncomfortable. So I bought an insole to cushion the sole of the slipper. I used that for a few more months thinking that it would help change the feeling in my foot....no luck. Now it's so painful to walk on them that I just keep my street shoes on all the time, even in the house. On the outside they look like new and you would never know that there is anything wrong with the sole. I'm hoping that LL Bean will give me my money back for the return of these slippers. If anyone in LL Bean actually reads these reviews, could you please pass on my request. For anyone contemplating purchase of new slippers, thinking that they are just like the old ones...think again! NONE of the slippers are made the same or maybe not even in the same country as the older type!

As reported by several other reviewers, the sole of one shoe wore completely through after only a year of general wear around the house. A similar pair, bought a decade ago, lasted a good 5 years. It seems like slipper quality control at LL Bean is slipping.

I love the look of this slipper. Really love. Like, admired for years. So I read the reviews, they said, "runs narrow, for a woman's foot"-ok, I am she. Let me tell you about narrow. You would need a tentacle to wear this gorgeous piece of trotter protection! Also, the tongue area is rough and the footbed is plastic foam with the thinnest leather sewn onto it. So thin, in fact, if it was from another companyI would call it (gasp) vinyl. Sadly, these will be returned and remain forever an unrequited adoration.

I gave this item a poor rating for 2 reasons: first, the soles of these slippers were very "slippery". I found it difficult to walk in them, especially on carpet. Second, the leather lacings that come around to the front and over the arch, dug into my arches, making walking very uncomfortable. I returned the slippers to your store.

Several years ago I bought a pair of these slippers. They worked well and lasted a reasonable amount of time. Toward the end of their life, the insole started separating where the back piece was glued to the front piece. I bought a second pair and within a month, the back half of the insole started peeling back. It's minor at first, but then it catches on your sock, sticks, and peels back more. It's annoying and once it starts it won't stop. I returned that pair for another pair and within a week the insole started peeling back. Whatever glue they are using doesn't work well. Perhaps they shouldn't be gluing two pieces together.

The slippers were great out of the box after I exchanged for a size down. Unfortunately the leather soles wore out prematurely after only a few months of wear. I wouldn't recommend these slippers unless you only walk on carpet. Thicker soles would be a product improvement.

I have been purchasing these same slippers from LL Bean for almost a decade. Sadly the quality is nowhere near it used to be. After just 3 months both soles have worn out to the point that there are holes near both the heel and ball of my foot. I did not wear these outside, other than the occasional run out to the driveway to grab the morning paper. For $109 I expected more. Very disappointed! Not sure if their return policy has changed on quality of items but I sincerely hope it has not.

I still wear the bison driving slippers I purchased From L.L. Bean about 15 years ago. Amazing quality and fit. I expected the same with ease and was very disappointed to learn that the quality has completely changed the inside lining appears very cheap and as if it is fake leather. The fit is not good at all and runs large. I returned them. I will not try again. from L.L. Bean about 15 years ago. Amazing quality and fit. I don't walk around barefoot. These slips are a full size too small with socks on. In order to get them on, I have to use a shoe horn or bend over and insert a finger. Major pain. Coming off is similarly difficult. I have to sit down and pry them off with a free hand. They fit pretty well without socks.

Sorry to say these slippers are not a alternative to the double soled, leather lined slippers that Beans no longer offers for women. Don't believe that buying a smaller men size will fit. Even if the length is correct, they are way too wide in both the heel and ball of foot. I'll be shopping elsewhere.

I owned a pair for about 5 years and they were perfect. Those pair I took camping with me every year too This pair wore out in about a year and I barely wore them and mostly in the house except for going out to get the paper 10 steps away. These are definitely not the double sole Bison leather, it is too thin and with the new return policy I am out of luck. You can see in the picture that how the left one wore out so quickly So disappointed!

These look great and feel great, if not a little large, when you first put them on. I was going to return them because they are kind of big but I thought they are slippers and I want to just slip them on and off easily around the house. I wore them for probably a combined time of less than one hour and the right shoe insole started curling up under my foot. It appears to have fake stitching and is cheaply glued to the bottom. Not what you expect from a $100+ pair of leather slippers from LL Bean. These, unfortunately, are going back.

I have been wearing these slippers for several years and loved them. Last spring my wife ordered me a new pair because I had worn holes in the bottom of the pair I had. I got them in the spring and did not wear them because of the warm weather. I started wearing them a month ago and the right insole started rolling up under my foot within a few weeks. I called and had them replaced. I received the replacement pair a few days ago and was glad to get them. I am very sad to say the insole of the replacement pair also began to role up under my foot within a week. I looked at comments from other people who have had the same problem. I expected better quality from LLBean and I am very disappointed. I will be returning the second pair for a refund.

Within the first day of wearing these the insoles started to separate and bunch up. Sadly, I want to return them.
