I've owned three pairs of these slippers, and they are incredibly comfortable. I love that they're made from bison leather and aren't lined, which makes them more flexible. In warmer weather, I wear thin or no socks, and when it's colder, I pair them with thermal socksvery versatile! However, there's one downside: the "double sole" leather bottoms wear out within a year on all three pairs I've owned, despite only wearing them indoors. I understand the soles are thin to keep the slippers lightweight, but there are lightweight sole materials available today (just look at any Cole Haan ZERGRANDs). I'd love to see L.L. Bean adopt a more durable sole, even if it made the product lean more toward a moccasin than a traditional slipper.

I've purchased the lesser priced slip on slippers for my husband.. flannel lined. But the soles always wore out within a year, so I thought I'd try the double soled slippers this time. Not good for an older person. So slippery and even though I bought same size they were too big. Had to send back. I don't recommend for a senior man too slick!

Somehow I was thinking "Moccasins" are soft and flexible. Not these. And slippery? Don't get me started. This is a 1-star disaster for me, and headed for the trash can. No stores within states for me to return to, and I read "store credit" somewhere and not a refund. And it's been decades when I purchased a shoe that didn't fit, but these are too long and too wide.

Too narrow of a fit. Returned. Did not refund my card but gave refund in a store card. Not happy with that.

I bought these for my husband for Christmas I have been buying them for several years and no complaint they were very nice had a good sole and then I ordered these not realizing they had a slick sole. My husband is 85 years old now that is the last thing he needs. Why in the world would u change the sole like that. Don't u care about your customers at all shame on u LL Bean

Very well crafted, but they run small. I love them, but I had to get a shoe stretcher before I could wear them.

Better of buying a cheaper pair with a true sole.

Great Slipper's. Although I believe " " "LLBean" Should sell Inserts, wether separately or Included. Are some type of Moisture wicking additives. I've been buying the bison boots along with deck shoes that is made out of bison for years. And I have always ran into this problem. About the moisture wicking? Thank you.

I purchased these slippers last October. Already there is a hole wearing through the sole on one slipper even though I am fairly careful with them. Should I return them?

The size runs a little tight and the leather is less supple than my previous pair.

The shoe is well made but the sole padding is non existent and hard on feet. The shoe also is not to size--probably a half-size larger.

The bottoms of the moccasins are so smooth that they are very slippery. There are beautiful looking moccasin and they fit well but my husband couldn't walk in them.

These are beautifully made and comfortable, but the leather sole is too slippery. Decided to return them.

My review will actually cover TWO pairs of this moccasin. My original pair was sent back after about 4.5 months because the heal on one moc had worn through, even though these moc's are only worn indoors on carpet and hardwood. I sent back the first pair and got a second. The second pair is okay so far, although I've had them for less than a month. However, although the fit on the first pair was good (just a bit large), the fit on this second pair is not as good. The left is acceptable, however the right is significantly larger and is definitely loose. The moccasins seem to be quite well constructed, however considering that they are 'bison' moc's the wear was unacceptable for "inside" slippers and the sizing appears to not be as tightly controlled as it could be. All in all for the price...a disappointment and not a moc I would recommend.

I had a specific problem. Unlike earlier Bean moccasins, this one doesn't have a flannel lining. That means that the inside is rougher. The problem for me was the toe section. The seam that attaches it to the side of the moccasin is raised and rubs. You might expect that you have to break in a new shoe, but this involved breaking in the top of my foot. Too rough for me.

These slippers are OK. They are very light weight, not as heavy or substantial as you would expect from a $109 top quality leather slipper with a double lining on the bottom. I almost returned them as I was disappointed. But I like an all leather slipper without a lining, & couldn't find anything else.

Having had a pair for over 10 years I needed to replace. Unfortunately my foot has gotten a little larger. My old ones were 11. Too small. I ordered the 12 and they were too big. I have trouble finding correct size in shoes. In this one looks like I needed a 11.5 which they don't make. Had to return. I loved my old one and am sorry they cannot be replaced.

While I liked the quality and feel of these slippers the smooth leather on the bottom was so slippery on carpet that they seemed like a slipping hazard. With wear they might have scuffed up some to prevent problems but I chose to return them.

The fit and craftsmanship were excellent. However I had to return these because the sole is to slick and very dangerous to walk in. I would recommend that L.L. Bean consider offering these with a rubber or crepe sole.

The quality of the new moccasins seems on par with the slippers I bought in the past--and am still wearing, although the bottoms are showing wear since I frequently go outside with them. But be aware that the new version is not as pictured. The new ones are two-toned: tan bottom and raisin top. I called and reported this and customer service quickly sent another pair. But the second pair is the same design, which is not what is pictured/described on the website or catalog. I would not have purchased the two-toned version.

These seem to be of wonderful quality, but they are extremely slippery! The soles are leather also, so they slide all over our carpet. My husband, who I purchased these for, was hesitant to walk more than a foot in them. We returned them, since we were afraid to "break them in". These were too expensive to have such a fatal flaw.
