Loved shoe too big awaiting exchange can't wait!!!! Have worn shoe before many years. Great for outdoors wet or dry. THEY DO RUN BIG IN SIZE GO DOWN A SIZE FROM NORMAL SIZE

I got the short gumshoe version of these boots and I absolutely love them! I wore them all weekend in 7" of snow and my feet stayed dry the entire time. They look great with jeans and they are very durable! I also appreciate that they are still handmade in Maine, thats rare these days.

Use this shoe all day long during snow, slush and mud. Very comfortable, water proof and not too warm to wear indoors. (I think that's because most of the insulation is on the bottom of the shoe.) The gum rubber provides good traction, even on ice. Just follow the size guidelines before ordering.

I use these shoes for wet wearher. Very light and dry. I ordered 1 size smaller. Great fit and A pleasure to wear. I am always looking for quality and I am very HAPPY with these

I have had a pair of Bean Boots in my home since I visited your store as a boy of 12 in 1940!! I most always wear my gumshoes in wet and/or cool weather here in VA. Their comfort, fit and warmth is priceless. Nothing beats the Bean Boot!!

these are great boots for doing just about anything. work, play good weather, bad weather. i own two pair of the 6" boots and a pair of the shoe and i don't know what i would do w/o them.

These shoes are fantastic!!! I can go to the barn, and have dry feet, and they don't weigh 100lbs. My last pair lasted over 20 years, but I sorta walked them to death, so I just sent them back to LL Bean to be resoled. These are the most comfortable, and senseable shoes I've ever owned. I've been wearing a pair of the famous LL Bean Gumshoes for more than twenty years! Yes, the same pair! I've seen many imitations and copies, but these are the originals and the only ones I'll wear. When I first bought them, I followed the advice in the catalog to a T and that paid off. They are great in wet weather (mine are unlined) and when I bought mine, I did buy the optional innersole which also helped with fit and comfort. These gumshoes look great with casual wear, can be worn with suits when commuting in wet and wintry weather and will last a long, long time. LL Bean will even resole these things for a nominal fee! Where but at LL Bean can you get that type of service? For dry and warm feet in wintry weather, these are my first choice and should be yours!

I just purchased my third pair over the past forty years. Never had a problem with these shoes. These new ones seem to be lighter than the others. That's good. You still need to order one size smaller than your usual size. These are good all-around outdoor shoes. Here in North Carolina, I wear them most in Fall, Winter and wet Springs. Note to LLBean:don't ever quit making this shoe.

I wore these through one winter season. Good support and comfort. Perfect when the snow is not deep.

I wanted these shoes to wear out in the fields and garden early in the morning when everything is soaked with morning dew. They are waterproof, comfortable and lightweight.

Excellent product. I use the gumshoes for gardening in wet grass and canoeing, which usually involves being in an inch or two of water while launching and taking out the canoe. Won't be without a pair again.

Excellent comfort. I bought them for bad weather but wear them all the time. Love puddles and mud now. One suggestion: though Customer Service advises well on sizing (and do call them), I found that my usual D/Medium was too snug but that EE/Wide with light hiking socks is perfect. Could be my foot is just getting fat. But think about it.

Nice boot, comfortable right out of the box. It's very hard to believe that you need to order down for a proper fit. I usually need a 11 1/2 to 12. I tried on a size 11 at their new store in SIX BURGH! I was floating in it. Since I wanted the darker brown,I had to order off the web. Got the size 10 wide and it fits just right. Again very comfortable out of the box and just what you need for nice walk in the rain or doing yard work in the dewy grass.

I was looking for low cut boots to wear in muddy yard and R/C airplane flying field. This year has been very wet and these Gumshoes are water proof and feel good. Be carefull with sizing; be sure to following sizing instructions when ordering.

What do you walk in when it is wet in the fields and boots are too much? These shoes are a constant at my back doorway for walks with the dog. I can just slip right into them and go. My last pair lasted for over 10 years. 100% waterproof. Solid grip on the ridged gum sole. And the narrow (B) width hugs my feet. Very comfortable. All around excellent value. One concern is that there is not a lot of arch and midsole support. So, they are not good for long hikes. I have sometimes forgotten that I had them on, went for a hike and felt it on the bottoms of my feet after a few miles. I know these aren't supposed to be hiking shoes, but because they are so comfortable, I sometimes forget. For what they are, which is a waterproof shoe, they are the best. I have not seen better anywhere.

I find these shoes ideal for walking the dog on the towpath along side the barge canal of the Delaware. They're very comfortable, and keep my feet dry in the snow, rain, and mud of the Winter and Spring weather! I highly recommend them to anyone.

Great snow shoe for area I live, keeps feet warm and dry. Shoe size is exactly as described. Wear with heavy boot socks and I am comfortable and warm. I have another pair that I have had for years and they have not worn out, just bought this pair for a spare and different color.

I've only had them a couple of weeks, so this review can't touch on durability or longevity. But I've been enjoying these boots quite a bit. I wear them when it rains, and I even wore them to ride my bike to work in the snow yesterday. They grip well on my Gripking pedals even when wet, which was a concern. They're comfy and I look forward to many years of good use.

I just returned my Bean Gumshoes for resoling after having them for more than 10 years. I could have bought a new pair for a little more than the cost of the resoling, but all the old ones really need is soles. Comfortable, warm, and typical L.L. Bean quality.

I bought these for my husband for Christmas. The last new pair of these he had was at least 7 years ago. He wore the tread right off of them before he finally mentioned he would like a new pair. He loves them and the brown/brown ones look so nice he can even wear them to church when its cold and snowy.

I love these boots. First they are American made, so the quality is there. They are comfortable, and great to walk around in everyday, or when we get tons of snow and I'm just trying to make it to class. Perfect with a heavy pair of wool socks. My only issue is the sizing is a little different compared to regular shoes (I had to buy 2 sizes down and wide in these), although LL Bean carries a huge range of sizes, so it's easy to find the right ones. Once you get the fit down, they're wonderful.

Great product. Pay attention to their size guide, however. I wear a size 11D and ordered just that. They were too large. I reordered a size 10 which should be just right. If you live in a cold climate I recommend upgrading to the thinsulate lined boots.

Kudos to the staff in Men's shoes at the new PGH store, Ross Park. They made the size-exchange easy--no questions asked.
