When I first put these shoes on I thought I had found a soul mate. Unfortunately though they seem to change how I move my feet and I have fallen twice with them on. I hike - a lot - and never even stumble let alone fall but since I've started wearing these shoes I have stumbled many time of which two of those stumbles have resulted in falls. I'm heartbroken because I love them so much but they somehow change how I move my feet I guess. I had to return them.

They say red but these are much closer to a hot pink.

I did not feel like there was much support upper or lower. Size was good and plenty of room in the toe box. I didn't like the color. And, most important, the sole is wearing quickly. I would not purchase these again.
I'd also recommend:

These fit pretty well and I do appreciate the wide toe box, but I won't buy them again. I did not like the color and the sole is wearing thin. I feel that the upper is a bit thin. My daughter loves this brand so I thought I would try it. For the money I don't think they are worth it.

The back of the shoe has folded on itself. Zappos took great care of my return but was out of the size I needed.

I'm a max cushion on the road, size 8.5. The 8's felt almost the same as an 8.5. Really comfortable shoe but needs rock plate. Felt every single thing I ran across. Also felt less grippy than timp.

I have 3 pairs of Lone Pine 6 and they are super comfortable from the first step. These new 7s are shorter and narrower than the 6. Very disappointing! Have to return. The red color was fine for me.

Not crazy about this shoe. I much prefer the Torin 6 over the Lone Peak 7! Torin 7 is good too but the Torin 6 is the most comfortable Altra shoe I have had on.

I've been wearing the Altra Paradigm and through I'd give these a try. I don't run in Altras, I work in them and love them for the proper foot fit. These I don't love. They are definitely narrower than the Paradigm and there is something odd about the tongue. It just will not stay in place no matter what I do, so I end up with the tongue slipped to the left on my left shoe every day. The laces also move and self tighten, so I'm constantly readjusting them. I've just never found another brand that fits me as well, so I keep wearing them, but would really prefer a fit like the Paradigm. They are too expensive to discard and I can't return them once I've worn them to work.

The color selection really needs some help. I'd take the men's colors for these shoes any day over the strange offerings for women. We really don't want white and powder blue and light tan, just stick with neutrals like charcoals and dark tans with fun accents and we'll love them.

The shoe is very roomy in the rounded toe box. However, it comes up high around the ankle & rubs. Had to return.

Lone Peak 6 were my first Altra shoes and I LOVED them so much I now have 3 pairs of Altra shoes. I was very disappointed by how narrow the LP 7 is compared to the LP 6. When I wear the LP 7, my bunion pain returns. I have no pain with the 6. Please bring back the width of the Lone Peak 6!!

The current color selections are awful. Light blue seemed the best of the worst but mine stained right away from normal trail use. I wore my old dark blue pair through the mud all the time and never had such noticeable staining.

I have had Lone Peaks and the Olympus in the past, and purchased these as my others had (more quickly than I'd like). Narrower than previous LPs, shorter laces, more fabric and less leather or thicker surface treatments, gaiter trap is just a cheap piece of Velcro now, gaiter hook at front of shoe is gone. Bought these bcz I have bunions and loved the wide toe box, but they narrowed them enough that they feel tight across toe box with my orthotics in. Bummer. Colors are nice.

I love that I found some shoes wide enough for my feet for the trials. With these being shoes for trails I wish there were better color selections and that they provided shoe laces long enough - these shoes are purposely for wider feet - we need long enough laces to tie them properly!

Previous version of the lone peak have always been my FAVORITE shoe. I've put hundreds and hundreds of miles on the lone peak 2 and lone peak 4 but something with this one changed.... they feel like a constricting cloud.... comfy, but not the Altras I've always loved.... it feels like Altra is trying to make shoes that feel like hokas with tons of padding. Thats not what I want, I just want simple wide toe box, zero drop, lightweight trail shoes. Bummed about this change and actually returned these and bought shoes from a different company. :( :( :( :( If you're new to Altra, maybe you'll like these... but if you're looking for lone peaks that fit like all the previous ones did... something is off :( :(

The shoes fits true to size and the same as the Altra shoes I have been wearing for many years, but the material quality is far inferior. The upper is thin and not stretchy, and I suspect these shoes will not last long. I don't feel any cushion or arch support. I will need to get an insert and wear cushioned socks. I would return but I also tried Escalante and Superior and I couldn't even get them on. The Escalante was extremely narrow. Altra, why are you changing quality and sizing? You have loyal customers who would pay for the quality of your past shoe models. I am searching for an alternative zero shoe.

I totally agree with the comments criticizing the color options for women. Really, no black? Or at least dark gray? The color options are caricatures of what men apparently think women want in terms of color choices, rather than what they actually want.

The Lone Peak 7's cheap fabric on the top allows my toe to push over the toe guard which caused pain and a hole in my sock. Lone Peak 6 had much better fabric on the top of the shoe. See Photos

Have the Lone Peak 6 and love them. They made a bad change at the toe of the Lone Peak 7 which makes no sense to me. They put a protective rubber covering right over where your big toe is. I can feel that putting some pressure on my toe as I walk in the shoe. What was so great about the Lone Peak 6 was that with the roomy toe box you didn't feel a thing on your toes. Now although the toe box seems the same width, the new design puts pressure from above. Returning and trying to find another pair of the Lone Peak 6 somewhere.

I like the altras as far as how they feel but why in the world is it hard to make a plain black, white, brown, or beige neutral colors?? These color combinations are not doing it for me

I have had two pair of the Lone Peak 6s and loved them. Thought I'd go to my local shop to try on the 7s. I didn't buy them. Different fit, cheap and short laces, ugly colors. Maybe they'd be a great fit for some people but they almost seemed like they were made by different manufacturer to me, and not in a good way.

The men's color options are 1000 times better, it's so frustrating. I wear these not only on the trail, but for everything. I'm forced into looking like a clown or purchase worse shoes.

I wear bilateral leg braces to walk and my braces fit very well in this shoe. I am very grateful that they have ample depth to accommodate my braces. I would like some solid colored choices.
