I have bought and worn several pairs of Altras. I bought these because of 2 factors - max cushioning and the orignal toe box. Seems like there is NO cushioning in the toe box?!

These do not compare to the cushion in a hoka shoe. Wish I could get zero drop hokas.

We order MAX cushioning because we want it to be soft. These are hard as a rock, no give or real cushioning at all, no arch support. Terrible!!!!! I wish 0 stars were an option. Over the years, I have loved Altra shoes. I am a teacher & on my feet all day every day. I didn't mind paying nearly $200 because they WERE like walking on a cloud & I would wear them every day. I felt amazing in my prior MAX cushioning orders from Altra. The Olympus VIA is the most disappointing thing ever. After just one day of wearing these, my feet, back & legs ache. There is no longer sufficient arch support for me without the old MAX cushioning. I see from other reviews, this is now a common complaint. I am returning these & sadly won't be buying any more shoes from Altra. Why would you change this?

I love the original fit. It gives both my midfoot and my toes enough room. But PLEASE put it on a mild road shoe like Torin instead of this crazy high platform shoe like Hoka.

I purchased these Via Olympus for longer distances and really put them to the test this past weekend. It created odd hot spots on my outer mid foot (maybe because it doesn't flex enough?).

When I first got the shoes, I noticed how stiff the soles seem to be. I know they are max cushioning, but I assumed the more I ran that the sole would start to break in. They didn't. I've had these for about half a year, and they just don't have the same cushy feel as my Torins and they don't have the bounce that my Hokas have. Hoka soles have a nice spring to them even with the thick soles. The Via Olympus soles feel like stiff foam, which is disappointing considering the amount I paid for them. I'm probably going to go back to my old shoes. If they could only merge the Altra footbed with the Hoka soles...

I have owned 5 other pair of Altra running shoes and loved them since they have a wide toe box and did not need a wide size. This shoe was supposed to have original toe box size but it was way too narrow. Sadly I had to return them

I am so disappointed with Altra. This is the ONLY road shoe available in the original footshape that brought me to Altra in the first place. This behemoth is so overly cushioned and bulky, not to mention ridiculous looking, and felt embarrassed just trying them on. Please Altra, for the love of god bring back more options in the original footshape! For now, I'm going with another brand and it breaks my heart.

The shoe hurt my feet while running. I had "hot spots" all over my feet. Certain areas of my feet went numb. I've worn many styles of Altra for several years and will say this is the only one I can say that I truly hated.

I absolutely hate these shoes! They are very uncomfortable and super stiff! I am very disappointed with these shoes..don't waste your money on these!!!

A tour in for plush what is my shoe now I've been wearing the Olympus for. This is nothing like the Olympus for I don't know why they're calling it Olympus but it has guards on the sides. There was one review that said that a third-party review and I called and talk to ultra and they said oh no it's the bottoms that change there's guards on both sides tie guards stabilizing it's a stabilizing shoe it's not a neutral shoe

This was my last attempt at buying Road shoes from Altra, after three wonderful years of pain free daily running. I thought that the original foot shape would make up for the ridiculously high stack height (Which apparently everyone seems to think it's so wonderful right now). But these things are so high and so stiff, it would only be a matter of time before I turned my ankle in these which is why I stopped running in Hokas. I loved the Torin 4 and 4.5's, and probably would have loved earlier models also, but didn't learn about the company until recently. I have been so disappointed in the new line. They are narrower, stiffer, and higher. You might as well throw out the zero drop too because why not? Hopefully you haven't gone the same direction with the Lone Peaks. Please bring back the Torin 4. Not even the plush one but that would be my second choice. I would buy 20 pairs

I work in run specialty and have been pumped for the release of this shoe. It's just not what it sets out to be. The foam is rock hard, even though there's a lot of it. Bondi 8 is significantly harder than the 7 but still so much softer than these bricks. Back to the Torin I go.
