They run like cement blocks - I mean this in the best sense. Super smooth and could really feel my toes and calves engaging. Complements my natural stride and doesn't have too much bounce. Firm cushion

Use this for road and treadmill miles in the winter season. I put 2000+ miles on Olympus trail shoes and this fit and worked seamlessly. Great cushion but also responsive.

I had a half marathon coming up in a couple of weeks and a $25-off coupon so I went to the store intending to purchase some Torins, but the reviews on the Torins and the Olympus convinced me to give the Olympus a try. I received them about a week before the half marathon and worried about properly breaking in the shoe before the race with only three training runs to go, but went for it anyway. The shoes felt great to run in and while not as plush as the Torins, I still felt they gave me great comfort. It did feel a little clunky at first to run in them, but I have 60+ miles on them now and love them.

The Via Olympus hands down the best in the Olympus line. It is more comfortable than version 4 and 5 in terms of paddings and ride. I will definitely buy it again.

My Via Olympus shoes arrived yesterday. I put them on in the house to check size and comfort. They fit like a glove. Then I walked 7 miles on pavement. They are the most comfortable walking shoe I've ever owned. (I'm 78 and have experienced a lot of shoes.)

This is my first pair of Olympus road shoes. I usually wear Lone Peak trail shoes for hiking but since I am doing a marathon soon I thought I would get these for the road. I ordered the wide width and it is much like the early Altras and it fits wonderfully. I like the firm yet cushioned ride of these shoes. I have had them for around 60 miles and there were no break-in issues, ready to go straight away.

Stiffer than expectated at first but once you break them in and adjust to the wide toe they quickly became my favorite road running shoe.

I am in love with the foot shaped shoe. In most other brands I need a wide shoe but Altra was a great fit. Great way of accommodating. The shoe is very comfortable for my runs. I cannot express how great this shoe is for me and I am so pleased for this road option. I definitely recommend it!

HOME RUN!! I can't emphasize that enough. I found Altra years ago and fell in love with the foot shaped shoe. In most other brands I need a wide shoe but Altra was a great fit. The original foot shape fit was superb and very accommodating. The first iterations of the Torin, Paradigm, Provision and Timp fit like a glove. Then Altra went and changed things up, some might say for the better with expanding their footbeds from original and expanding out to standard and slim and in doing so changed most of their shoe line as we know it. The Torin, Paradigm, Provision and Timp no loner the shoe so many of us had come to love. The only options for the original footbed were now in the trail category, the Lone Peak and Olympus, which I have many pairs of, you did start to offer the Torin in a wide which was a plus but still left me wanting. Now, on to the Via Olympus. I cannot express how great this shoe is for me and I am so pleased for this road option. The Via Olympus is the perfect original footbed shoe. True to size, accommodating in the toe box, secure in the mid-foot and just the right footbed cushion, not as soft/squishy as the Torin but still soft with a nice firmness. For me this might be one of the best shoes that I have worn and that Altra has produced. I have two pair and I will definitely be picking up a couple more. Going forward I would hope that only minor updates are made with this shoe and stay with the original foot shape on this one. Don't go and screw it up.

I have run in zero-drop before but never in any sort of max cushion shoe. Even with the huge stack height, these don't feel like running on pillows. The foam is more dense than I expected but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The stability from the foam and the wide design gives a very secure, planted feel. There is essentially no ground feel but that isn't surprising. I subjectively felt less after all my runs when wearing these and they're extremely comfortable for daily wear. Well done, Altra.

My overall verdict on the Altra Via Olympus running shoes is that they provide a stable platform and a smooth running experience. You might be a bit surprised that it's a firm underfoot feel though. With their noticeable cushion height, I expected the running experience to be softer. The cushion is actually quite firm. However, with flexible grooves in the forefoot and a rocker shape, it's still a smooth run, and the impact absorption is excellent. The top of the Altra Via Olympus is made of a flexible, soft, breathable material. I like that it provides a comfortable and supportive wrap around the foot. Toes still have room to breathe and splay while running, since the shoes have a wide toe box. Towards the heel and midfoot, it's a secure fit. As someone with narrow feet, it can be difficult to find running shoes that fit well. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the fit of the Altra Via Olympus feels. I like that they provide a natural feeling while running, thanks to the space for my toes to splay freely, but the shoes never feel too loose. If you like a wide, stable platform for running and cushioning that's on the firmer side, I think you'll enjoy the Altra Via Olympus shoes. If a squishier experience is what you're after, they might not be for you.

The Altra Via mens running shoe provided a sturdy sole. The arch support was excellent for me. My feet usually hurt and cramp while I run long distances. The Altra Via mens running shoe took pressure off the soles of my feet. It allowed me to run harder longer by giving me better arch support. I thought this shoe provided a high quality running experience. I also found the shoe itself was comfortable. I would recommend this shoe for anyone struggling with foot issues while running or someone who wants sturdy arch support for their runs

Pretty good shoe! They are nice and wide that let's your feet breath. At first it felt weird cause they have more supporting the mid foot vs other shoes that put more support on the heal. Over time you get used to it. Overall they are light weight and pretty stylish.

As a long distance runner, I think I have seen quite a few long distance runners use these shoes in the past and I always wondered why they are so popular. Now after trying the Altra Men's Via, I can certainly see why it's becoming more common in long distance running. My runs feel so much more comfortable / less painful, as if the shoe is absorbing the shock whenever I am hitting the ground. It feels like I'm floating on air!

This is by far one of the best shoes that I have ever worn. Comfortable and stylish. The extra cushion even adds to my height as a bonus. I love mine!

I absolutely love the shoes. I usually take a 10 or a 10 1/2 in my shoes, and a wide or 2E. As a result, are usually run in new balance or Hoka shoes. These are my first pair of Altras, and I am sorry I hadn't tried the brand before. These are now my go to shoes. They remind me of my blue suede Kelso earth shoes that I bought in 1971. Yes, 51 years ago. My Via Olympia shoes may not be considered stylish, but boy are they comfortable. Worth every penny. I bought these as my walking shoes, but I'm going to buy a second pair to run in.

Great running shoes that really fit great and they provide just overall great comfort.

Feels like the original Altras with the original fit/wide toe box. Love them. Will be buying more pairs.
