I like the Clifton 9 better than the Clifton 8 for a couple of reasons: first, they are wider on the top and don't constrict me like the Clifton 8; second, they seem to have a bit more cushion in the forefoot and maybe the heel. In any case, they feel better on my feet than the Clifton 8. There are only 2 negatives. The big HOKA name seems a bit tacky to me. And the weird half-gusseted tongue had me scratching my head.

After years of wearing Brooks Ghost, thought I'd give Hoka Clifton 9 a try. Took a few days to get used to them more cushion/higher arch/more toe room. Now I wear them every day. Very comfortable and light. Great running and walking shoes. Most times I don't even know I have them on

My Husband could not find Shoes where His feet didn't hurt because of medical issues. So I decided to try these and He loves them and can't believe how much they help. Will be buying more pairs.

It's a good shoe with tons of cushion for everyday runs but its not as comfortable as the Clifton 8's. Hard to explain but the top toe area seems cramped and often times when I push off on a long stride I feel my toes shifting too much. Other than that they are super light, ugly as sin (like all running shoes) and a decent price.

I like the clifton 9 much more than the clifton 8. They are less narrow, feel really comfortable running, and look great.

Bought these right before going on vacation where I knew I'd be doing lots of walking. The fit great, and provide an excellent base for my feet and legs. A pleasure to wear, I don't want to take them off!

This was my first pair of HOKAS. I am so glad I followed the recommendation The support and comfort are unparalleled in any of the other six brands in my closet. .

I had several pairs of the Clifton 8's and I love the subtle changes they made to the 9's. I'm very happy with these shoes!

These are very comfortable shoes for walking and jogging. These can be worn just about anywhere.

Great comfort and sixe was perfect. No problems with anything as far as this shoe is concerned!

Super lightweight and forms to my feet, as a habitual lean my feet to the side I feel these will last long. As someone with spinal issues I love how the sole takes all the impact.

This is my third generation purchase - having loved the 7 & 8 Clifton. The series 9's toe-box is cramped - I cannot run in the 9, I can only walk, row, or use the elliptical in them. Currently recovering from a blister on the baby toe. Maybe a half size up or wide would work, but I can't afford to guess at this point.

Better than expected. True to size. They're a bit of a lift which took some time to get used to. Would've been a 5star but at times I feel the lack of ankle support with that lift.. Best walking shoe on the market

I have 6 pairs of Clifton 8s which were the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. Could not wait for the 9s and what a let down. Literally, the worst shoe experience ever! Too tight and first time I have ever had multiple blisters from walking. Perhaps the material is new and unproven or they are being manufactured differently but the shoe is simply awful. What a disappointment! The 8 made me a Hoka customer for life, the 9 ended the relationship. Wish there was a zero star option.

First, these will get returned. I have 10 pair of various brand shoes, all size 10D and they fit perfectly. These in 10D are too tight across the top of the foot, and the width is very narrow at the knuckles. The sole is super soft, I don't see this lasting more than 2 months.

Been a huge Clifton 8 fan and owned several pairs enjoying the light and responsive feel. The Clifton 9's however have sort of a heavier cumbersome feel and picking up the pace doesn't seem to feel as efficient as the 8's. I rotate these with my Mach 5's which are nimble and light so maybe I'm spoiled with that feel.

Please could you make all colors in a wide because this shoe is nice but regular fit isn't & I wear only a wide.

Clifton 8 and Bondi 7 had a baby. These are as perfect as I could imagine. Solved my issues with previous models. Meanwhile the Bondi 8 had me feeling like I had clown shoes on.

Absolutely love everything about the Clifton 8's. Can't say the 9's are an improvement quite yet. Love the extra cushioning in the heel the provide. The fit seems a bit larger and I could have likely stood to go down a half size. Slightly heavier than the 8's.

This is my second Hoya purchase. I have another year old set of Bondi 7's. I would say the Bondi shoes actually have better cushion then the Clifton 9 shoes. However, the Clifton 9's are lighter weight, I like that. The uppers are excellent material, highly breathable yet quite supportive. I will be using theses shoes as my main foot ware for a vacation that will have walking each day of 5-7 miles minimum. I guess I will see how they do in a few weeks.
