I have many HOKA shoes in a variety of styles. I always buy a size 7, for some reason this shoe is slightly bigger. I should have got a 6.5. However these shoes are comfortable and bright!

Narrow toe box, narrow foot bed, slight heel slippage. I've tried Hoka's a few times now, hoping that reviews about them finally getting it "right for wide food runners," but I'm disappointed each time.

This shoe looks fine and I am wearing them. My previous pair of Hokas were very comfortable. This new pair is just OK, because they feel tighter or narrower.

These are the lightest shoes I've ever owned. They are well built comfortable and look good. The strange thing about them are the heels. When I stand the back of the heels compress in and I sort of fall back. Strange. Other then that they are great

Owned 5 pair of HOKA, Clifton's are excellent for everyday. Especially if you're on your feet for most the day. Your heels will thank you.

Very comfortable shoe. I wish the shoe looked more stylish, and was a bit more stable.

As an avid walker, and as some new to the Hoka line.....decided to try these Clifton 9s after acquiring the Gaviota 5s. Just as the info about this C9 model states, they are not quite as cushioned/plush as the G5s, but I wasn't expecting that. I DO really like them and decided to keep them as they'll do just great for me. I rated as a 4 star only in my comparison to my new G5s - which I LOVE (going to review those in a minute)

Ordered Black / Black Clifton 9 for my work shoes that are worn with uniform. So excited, opened box at home under lamp light, couldn't wait to try them out. Got dressed next morning for my shift and left before light. When I got to my Station the Black / Black is actually Black / Charcoal Gray. I am hopeful that my purchase will be allowed to use due to color difference. Great comfort and support for being active and on my feet a bunch at work.

I walk in these shoes at least 20 miles a week. My only gripe is one shoe is always larger in the toe box than the others. I have been wearing Cliftons for years now but always the same. If i go down a size they are to tight

I'm writing this after only one run with these shoes. I've been dealing with some knee and hip pain almost consistently for a while. However, with a single run with these shoes, I had zero issues with those pains. I was quite amazed. 10 miles and I felt like I had so much more in me. Granted, I'm replacing shoes that had 550 miles on them, so that is a variable.
As far as cushioning, they did not feel as if they beat the pair of Bondi 8's I have. The cushioning is really nice, but subjectively the Bondi's felt like there is more cushion. The largest compliant I have is the width. Maybe I need to break them in a bit more, but they just felt too narrow. I generally purchase shoes a half a size larger and wide (2E). The Bondi's were great in this department and so far, these just feel like they are squeezing my feet to the point that the one went numb during my run. So, I guess my recommendation is to go a size wider if that's an issue for you.

My previous 3 pairs of Cliftons seemed to wear thru the wear pad on the heel prematurely, with not many miles. I actually apply duct tape every 4 or 5 runs to preserve the heels. The shoes still perform well with lot of cushion still in place.
Haven't had this pair long enough to know if it will be a problem again.

I am very happy with my new Hoka Clifton 9 shoes.
I usually wear a size 11 (Medium width), but I found that I had to go a half size bigger to 11.5. The toe box area on the size 11 was just too tight, so I had to go 1/2 size bigger, which has worked great!
Just a side note: I also had purchased the Clifton 9 GTX Gore-Tex shoes as well. I like the idea of having a Gore-Tex shoe, but these come across quite stiff and are not as comfortable as the regular Clifton 9 shoes. I also had to go a half size larger for the GTX shoes as well (they only come in Medium width, not Wide).
I got the black color for the Clifton 9 (non GTX) and I really like that the word Hoka is harder to see (it is in black). The GTX black shoes I purchased in full black have Hoka emblazoned in white on the side and it is just too gaudy for me! I like a more conservative, less advertising type of shoe, to be honest. The regular Clifton 9 in full black are not gaudy at all. I really like them and so far have been very happy with them.

These are great stable shoes, but they don't match the quality of my first pair of Clifton 8s. They feel a bit more firm on long runs than what id prefer. I have an extremely wide foot and these didn't quite fit the mold for what I want in a shoe. The mach 5s are excellent for someone with a wide foot they are also have a bit more cushion. This is a great shoe but not my favorite.

comfortable shoes, love the gray and black design. Only issue is on wet surfaces these shoes have little to no grip. Simply walking on a wet sidewalk I slipped. .

Just got these and haven't walked more than a couple hundred yards. They do feel comfortable and they actually make you taller. Had to send the first pair I ordered back to get a wide which I usually wear a regular width. The wide works.

The Shoe deserves a 5 Star. I'm a Woman size 8 but the women's Clifton's colors are so boring that I order a size 7 Men's. In Orange (Beautiful color) Fits perfect.
But Hoka.com offered me a Spedited Shipping and it took 1 week to be delivered. So , not spedited.

Everyday use. A little softer in the heel than expected when standing. Rain made my shoes wet. I notice a growing odor, even though I dried them. I will be looking to neutralize the odors.

I work on my feet 9 hours a day, 5+ days a week. I desperately needed some new shoes for my back pain, and previously have worked as a Footwear Specialist. So I knew to come to Hoka. Unfortunately, my shoes seem to be a bit too wide, and a size too roomy. This causes slipping inside the shoe, especially when turning, and regrettably is making my back pain even worse, after about 10 days or so of wearing them consecutively.
I plan on returning for a size-down, but with my feet there's no guarantee that a smaller size will fit correctly on both feet. I hope they fit good, because I very much love my Cliftons.

I like the cushion feel and support. As, a chiropractor I'm on my feet all day and I would recommend these to payoff as well.

This is my 4th pair of Cliftons, (2)#8 and (2)#9. The one thing I noticed about this 2nd pair of Clifton9, is that they were definitely stiffer out of the box. Took a few runs and walks for them to "soften up".

These are for daily wear and walking. The on-line buying guide recommended a 1/2 size larger and they feel too long. My regular size would have probably been fine.
