I've been a long-time Hoka user and have owned many of their models over the years. This time, I decided to try this particular pair (I'd had my eye on them for a while). Unfortunately, after just the third time wearing them, one of the heel lock eyelets tore off. Overall, they are very comfortable and incredibly lightweight but this issue was disappointing, especially considering how little wear they had.

The Anacapa Breeze Mid was exactly what I needed after an ankle replacement. It was comfortable and supportive however one of the lace hooks at the top kept coming off. Hopefully the replacement won't have the same problem.

Good traction but would be way better with the Skyflow sole which is way more comfortable. When I put these on after my Skyflows I am not happy. The laces could be thicker and the boot is too heavy and chunky.

These are very good looking. But... they are too stretchy so that on any off camber trail you feel your feet slipping off the platform. This may be good for measuring how light they are and they are light but it does not help stability. I also really dislike the shoe laces. /they are too skinny and continuously come undone even if you double knot them. The mesh like fabric is prone to snagging and tearing. They do have a vibram sole which seems sticky enough but it also wears pretty quickly; not as fast as Solomons but pretty quick.

Irish Setters are the most uncomfortable boot i have ever waisted my money on. In one week i gave them away and that person through them away. As far as the grommets breaking.. Don't pull on the dam thing like they are not going to get any tighter. All shoes grommets eventually break. Especially if they are dry rotted. I use mine doing landscaping, which is harder than any other activity, i dont care if your hiking for 6 months. I can go through a pair of shoes in 3 months. The glue and the stitching is whats important. The water proofing is very good. My job requires a lot of athleticism , i can nit wear Frankenstein boots. The only other shoe I would even consider buying is Solomon. And they are always sold out. Because they are giving boots to the over seas military

It is a very light boot and seems well-made. It came with laces that were much too short. I only have about three inches of lace on each side to tie. These boots do not have as much padding as other Hoka models. I would recommend these boots if they came with longer laces.

My son-in-law loves these boots. He is on his feet sometimes 16 hours a day, minimal leg and foot discomfort at the end of the day!!

The boot is very comfortable overall. The heel is a little bulky but I knew that before I ordered it. The biggest problem I have is that the black color on the boot has a purplish tint. They came like that directly from Hoka. I have to wear black boots at work and this is not acceptable. So basically these shoes have turned into expensive around the house shoes that I can't wear to work. Not happy about that and wouldn't recommend based on that alone. However, if comfort is your only concern then these are very comfortable.

Hoka is the one company that makes a quality hiking boot that's doesn't have all the waterproofing. I walk 5-8 miles a day delivering product in the Texas heat. I was looking for a hiking boot with ankle support without all the GoreTex stuff. Luckily, I found these! No complaints so far.

These shoes are amazing. I purchased them to use on a residential job site. I am 260 lbs over 50 and I still cover a lot of ground while working. I work at a fast pace all day, my joints take a pounding with that weight. Yep I know they are not safety shoes but when you get home and all of your joints ache you make changes. These shoes give cushion on every step and actually rebound into your next step. My muscles may ache after a long day but my joints (ankles, knees, feet) don't ache all night long. Three weeks after wearing these shoes I put my old boots on to feel the difference. 30 minutes later I was already aching again. Well worth the purchase. I ordered another version 1/2 size bigger for a better fit and I will make these my everyday walking around shoe. I typically wear an 11 or 11.5 so I ordered 11.5 but they are not quite wide enough and my toe is 1/4" from the tip of the shoe. I just ordered a 12 and I don't mind as they are worth it. My wife is a nurse and loves Hoka shoes, I wouldn't have tried these if it wasn't for her telling me how awesome they perform.

After having these less than two weeks, they have started squeaking and already wearing down. They are not holding up. I have been wearing them around my property to try to get used to them and did not even get the opportunity to use them on a hiking trail. I consistently purchase HOKA running shoes and was very excited to get these in hopes they lived up to my expectations of my running shoes. Unfortunately, they did not. Do not buy them.

Love the way the boots feel but the bottom shoelace eyelet popped off after 3 uses. Not something I expected to happen from a near $200 boot.

The laces and loops are ridiculous cheaply made and will not last Im sure. Almost impossible to tie snuggly. Rest of shoe is fine. Normally love Hoka's. These won't last 3 months

For those of us with problem feet (Hallux Rigidis, mid-foot arthritis, etc), HOKA should create a hiking boot that meets all the following criteria: Full heel-to-toe rocker sole Waterproof Mid-rise (to the ankle) for extra ankle support Rugged, with a stiff forefoot Comes in a variety of widths as well as lengths, especially wide (2E) There doesn't seem to be a hiking boot on the market today that hits all these criteria. The Kaha-2 comes closest, but it doesn't come in Wide. If it did, I would buy a few pairs of them.

Good traction and I really appreciate the breathable design for warm weather hikes. However, the toe box is way too narrow.
