My husband and I have both had dozens of Trail Glove iterations over the years. When the Trail Glove 6 came out I thought nothing of just buying the new version. However, the treadlife is TERRIBLE. It's literally as though the tread pattern was turned inside out - the skinny lines are outfacing and the thicker surfaces under. The result is that in less that 30 miles there are bald spots on the heals and forefoot where the AZ rocks have just scraped the treads right off. Dumb design. Get rid of this quickly, Merrell!

Disappointed by these shoes. I had the previous trail gloves and they were great, these feel far more rigid, heavy, and overall more like a cheap plastic.

Beware, if you are looking for waterproof shoes - wrong advertisement - these shoes apparently do not have a gore-tex waterproof membrane as described on Zappos' website. I found out that Merrell does not list them as such and there is no gore-tex trademark label on the shoes.
The shoes are fine otherwise but certainly not what I expected. Thus, had to return them.

Very disappointed in these shoes. I will not buy these again. I wouldn't even call them barefoot shoes. These are nothing like the barefoot shoes, from Merrill, I have loved in the past. I love the vapor glove 5. The Trail Glove 7 has a thick bulky sole and you are not able to "feel" the road or trail. The Trail Glove 7 is also not flat. They feel like they have a slightly raised heel. Not comfortable.

The Trail Glove 7 is NOT a barefoot shoe.IMHO toe box is not wide enough to be called barefoot shoe. There is arch support and the sole is thick which are not barefoot shoes should have. The shoe is light weight however the Vibram outsole textured rubber wears the first time walking on pavement to the trail. If you are looking for true barefoot shoes. Please look else where.

I've been wearing this line exclusively for the last decade because it's so hard to find a toe box wide enough for my feet. This iteration has reverted to narrow sizing. Do not buy if you're looking for something wide enough to not bind up your toes.

I've been a fan of the Trail Glove series since the first version, and have owned 7 pairs over the years. I use them for road running as well as hiking. However, the Trail Glove 7 is quite different from previous versions. It no longer feels like a barefoot shoe. The sole is thick and feels padded, and the arch is constructed far differently. More importantly, the heel is far too large; this makes a smooth foot landing difficult while running. I hope that Merrell returns to previous design cues for their next Trail Glove; this is a well-made product, but it has strayed far from a barefoot-style shoe. In the meantime, I will buy an extra pair of Trail Glove 6's.

I have just received my new Trail Glove 7 shoes and am going to send them back. I love my pair of Vapor Glove 3 Luna LTR, which is just perfect, but the sole of the new model is so rigid, the ankle is elevated, it is not a barefoot shoe at all. The product description is misleading, I am very disappointed. The sizing is also tricky, ordered the same size but the Trail Glove 7 feels much smaller.

Sorry Merrell but these are a horrible design for the outsole compared to the glove 6 outsole. I loved the detail on the outsole for the glove 6, the way it shaped like a real foot. This is just looking like someone got lazy and threw on a random outsole.

I have been wearing the Trail Glove since 2011, the 6 and 7 have gone away from being anything near barefoot/minimalist. The sole is too stiff and thick and the arch digs in. I have resorted to buying used 4 an 5 online if I can find them.

The shoe is a full size too big. Maybe even 1.5 sizes too big. It's too bad as it is otherwise a good shoe.
