These would have been fine. Nice in fact. I just couldn't get past the odor of these slippers! I even off-gassed them outside for days and they still smelled of chemicals. I just didn't want to put them on my feet. I know clothing and shoes are chemically treated to survive the shipping from China process, but this was unbearable to me. I'm sad, because I've had Wicked Goods in the past that I wore to nubs and was really looking forward to these. Sad.

I have a pair of these slippers which are about 3 years old. I have worn out the stitching holding it together and the lining on the inside. But they are so comfortable and warm. Sadly, I have to order three or four pairs before I find one that fits correctly. The problem with the new slippers is that it turns on its side once my foot is inserted. Rather than the sole of my foot resting on the sole of the shoe, the entire slipper turns side ways. I encountered this same problem when I first bought them but kept trying until I found a pair that worked. Sadly, I have returned this slipper. I sure wish LLB would fix this problem as I love the slippers when they work.

These slippers are very warm and comfortable but the stitching wears out too soon. I bought these for my daughter at her request but won't buy for myself again. The rest of the slipper is still in great shape - leather stitching deteriorated and one complete side of the slipper is open. My slipppers were not brand new but they were only worn for a season.

I had a pair of these slippers for years, and loved them. Finally time to replace them and purchased this newer model. Yikes! The toe box is pointed rather than nicely rounded -- so even when the slipper stretches (it's not just snug, good grief) it will feel like the toes are in a vise grip. The shearling itself is lovely. I'm sorry they won't work for me, but goodness. Who wants a slipper that gives your toes claustrophobia?

I do not mean to be negative for the sake of being negative. I do want to inform others of some details that were not clear to me from reading the description on line and reading other reviews. First detail - while the outside of the sole is covered in suede and is not suitable for outdoors, there still is a thick sole of some kind inside the suede. It is thick and spongey and is more narrow than my foot. It is tall enough and also spongey enough I feel myself rocking off either side of the shoe a bit. It does not feel stable to me. It might soften up and get lower over time. I might get used to it in time, but it is not comfortable to me. When I am at home, I want to feel like I am not wearing shoes. So I was looking for a soft leather bottom on a slipper with no supportive sole inside. Because of the support sole, I feel as if I am still wearing shoes while inside the house. Also, there are a lot of reviews that say sizes run big. This is not true in my case. I wear a 7.5 or 8. I ordered the 8. I would need to wear a thin sock to feel comfortable in this size. I had on a slightly thicker sock when trying them on and they feel a bit more snug than I would like. Guessing I would need an 8.5, but they don't make half sizes. They do seem well made, warm and soft. Just thought these details might be helpful to others.

Very cushy bottom and seemed like they would be warm. But the care tag was sewn into the footbed right where my arch hit. Very uncomfortable. I was afraid if I tried to cut it out, I would be taking apart the seam that held the shoe together. Had to return.

The slippers fit well when I first wore them. They have stretched out so much, they are practically falling off. I guess I should have ordered a smaller size.

9's were too loose, 8's were too tight. But what i missed most was the old heavier outer shell that offered support to ankles. Also the opening was narrower and harder to slip them on without them falling inward in the back and staying that way.

These slippers felt odd from the get-go. My feet felt sweaty and it felt like I was walking on a rubbery pillow. I imagine it probably has memory foam in it. It's a shame to ruin an authentic leather and wool slipper with synthetic non-biodegradable materials.

The slippers are to wide and my wife walks on side of slipper. Because they are to wide. She has size 7 not happy with them. But we are trying to live with them. Sorry .

I received my first pair of WG slippers back when I was a teenager and wore them until they fell apart. Had a few more pairs in the intervening years and loved them. This past Christmas, my husband offered to buy me a new pair and I couldn't wait to get them. They were back-ordered until mid-January, but I didn't really mind because I love these slippers so much. Alas, they don't make 'em like they used to. While the overall condition of the slippers was fine. As soon as I put them on, I could tell that the sole of the right slipper was misaligned with the upper portion. I took about ten steps down the hallway and could feel my right foot slipping over the outside edge of the sole and I could feel the strain in the muscles of my lower leg. Felt like if I wore them for much longer (or while walking quickly) I might strain my ankle. (And, no, it's not a weight issue, I'm the same weight I've been for years.) Left one was fine, but I still had to return them. I was so disappointed! I was really looking forward to my new slippers (current ones are over 10 years old and falling apart), but now I think they are just not made with the care that LL Bean has always been known for in the past and I will have to find some other brand. ;(

I ordered these the first of November, after reading numerous glowing reviews. I have worn them frequently to give them a fair chance - I should give them a 2.5, because one slipper is comfortable and the other could not be more uncomfortable. The shearling lining inside the right slipper feels bunched up where the toes and foot meet. I thought it would eventually conform to the shape of my foot like the left slipper did. I wanted these to be the slipper I lived in around the house all winter. Instead, I am constantly taking the right one off and trying to smooth the inside. It is so uncomfortable that I often resort to taking these nice expensive slippers off and dragging out my old cheapie slippers. I don't like them either, but, at least, they are not uncomfortable like the Wicked Good Slippers, which for me are "Wicked Bad". I really wanted to love these slippers because I want to like everything LL Bean does. I have read the glowing reviews again and wonder if I just got a dud!

I had a pair of these slippers that lasted 4 yrs. I was thrilled with them. I purchased a new pair and after 4 months the stitching tore and the slippers came apart. I don't have a receipt thinking I would never need it. Maybe I got a defective pair but I was really upset.

I had wanted to try these for a long time but was hesitant to spend that much for a pair of slippers. I finally decided to go for it and was excited to get them but they were too narrow and felt stiff instead of the softness I anticipated. I decided to return them rather than wait to see if they would "break in". I also would have preferred rubber soles and a foot bed of memory foam.

I've worn these slippers for 20+ years, but have noticed the quality deteriorate over time. I bought them last week and returned them after 3 days. The fleece inside is thin and breaks down quickly. There is very little support. Very disappointing. I refuse to pay this high price for an inferior product. I did find a fleece slipper with another company and am thrilled with the quality.

Very nice, warm and well made with the exception of the foot bed. The lining on the foot bed of one of my slippers has bunched up to inside of my foot. Most of the time I am walking on the outside edge of my foot. Not very comfortable. I have tried smoothing it out but does not help. For the price I would expect better. Will not prevent me from buying LL Bean in the future.

With 2216 reviews already written it will be surprising if my review is read by anybody hanging in there long enough to read it but here I go adding mine to the mix. I live in the NE USA where it can get really cold and is pretty much slipper weather much of the year. For size info-I have a small frame & normally wear a size 8.5 med in shoes and go up to a 9 in boots. I tried these slippers on and decided on a size 9 due to my high instep during a visit to the Freeport store but couldn't bite as I had trouble convincing myself to pay the higher price for "slippers" even though I had wanted them for years. After spending money over the years on "disposable" inexpensive ones, my husband surprised me at Christmas. Yes, I was thrilled to get slippers, especially Wicked Good ones! I was so happy...for about one month of near constant wear when home, with and without socks. At that time the shearling in the heal area was worn right to the sheepskin. They were oh so warm so I kept wearing even when a heel tab later pulled out. I figured, perhaps, they were meant to be more decorative then used for helping to pull on the originally snug then ever-expanding slipper. Still, 9 was the right size and I knew they would stretch. My feet were kept warm until two months later, still in Old Man Winter's grip, the entire seam ripped apart between footbed and upper shell of slipper. I held on to them thinking surely LLBean wouldn't replace worn, albeit way less than a year old, slippers. Then I met a woman who had same slippers for "years" and was disappointed in how they had stretched out but still returned and was sent a new pair! So I took a chance and returned my relatively new slippers and received a replacement pair! I was over the moon...for one week in which the seam in new pair split entirely again! This time I returned them, explaining the issue and asked for a refund. I was sent a card for merchandise credit. That's fine. We have been adult lifetime shoppers with LLBean of a variety of their merchandise both via online and in Freeport, ME. We never had to be concerned with quality because it was a given but I am dismayed at reading more and more reviews of products not living up to the LLBean reputation we've come to expect. As the merchandise card sits on my desk for a few months now, I'm looking at the other slippers, reading the mixed reviews and becoming more and more skeptical to try a different replacement (sadly not taking a chance on this style again) before cold sets in but I've got cold feet... I'm giving two stars on this particular item. One is because I can't argue at all with the warmth and comfort the Wicked Good slippers provided. The second star is for the quality of LLBean's customer service and the products we've enjoyed over the years. I can't bring myself to give more on this product experience because I'm slipper less and Old Man Winter is knocking at my door.

I wish that LLBean made this in a size to fit me. It only comes in full sizes and nothing for narrow feet. If you have wide feet and don't wear a half-size this is for you, otherwise it won't fit. I wear a 7.5 and the 7 is too short and the 8 is too long. Both are too wide.

Was very much looking forward to these slippers....unfortunately, had to send them back. Way too small and narrow, despite the fact that I ordered a half size up from my usual 6 1/2. Quality seemed decent enough, but there was a strong smell of turpentine when I opened the box that was a bit unpleasant. And didn't like the feel of that little gap at the top of the slipper-- seemed like it would get a bit drafty. Usually very happy with LL Bean products, just not this one. :-(

Wicked Good used to mean more in Bean's slippers. These are not the quality I expected. American-made is what I am accustomed to and still look forward to.

the padding is deep and lush but unfortunately, if you pronate badly this will be a problem as the padding on the sole ends before the edges of the shoes, so you will wobble. perhaps with wear this would have corrected, as the padding mashed down, but i wasn't willing to take the chance. also, i was disappointed that the shoe wasn't taller--that it didn't provide another inch or so more of covering for the ankle, as the entire reason i got these slippers was to have ankle protection. it's a beautiful slipper, obviously good quality materials, just not engineered for me--the things that probably make it good for most made it unworkable for me.

I Absolutely have LOVED these slippers for YEARS and Years!!! Every time they wear out I stitch a seam and keep wearing them until they are no longer wearable. My last pair was a Women's 9 and by the time I retired them, they were falling off me. My shoe size is Women's between 8 and 8-1/2 so I ordered the size 9; same as last time. These are So TIGHT I can't believe it. I've read the reviews where people say they ordered the 1/2 size up and they fit perfectly. Only thing I can figure is that these slippers are mis-marked and are really a size 8????

I had to order a size up as my usual size was way too small. the opening is very narrow, couldn't get into, also the soles soak up water. would prefer a weather proof sole to be able to go out on deck or steps outside. definitely indoor use only. I prefer a wider boot type slipper. OK if you have narrower feet and just want warmth.
