I have had many pairs of Asics in the past and never been disappointed UNTIL this pair. These were stiff, even the back upper heel was so stiff and the footbed surprisingly not that comfortable. Compared to all of my past years of Asics gels, these seemed cheaply made. Sorry to say this, but if this had been my first pair of Asics, I would never have bought from this company again. I am returning them.

First, the description indicates there is a removable insole, which is NOT the case here. The insole is securely glued to the shoe; one of my first needs in a shoe is a removable insole, so I can use my own orthotics. Second, the shoe laces are very flimsy. Third, my heel slips up and down a bit in this shoe. On the plus side, I like the dark colored outsole....white soles show dirt so quickly. And I like the neutral black of this shoe. But, back they go to Zappos. I have worn ASICS for years, but I think it may be time to find a new brand.

I've loved Asics Venture shoes and worn them for years. I've also had foot surgery a year ago, and that changed the structure of my foot. Post-surgery, I bought a pair of Asics Venture 6 in wide, and they fit perfectly. I liked the colors of the Asics Venture 7 and purchased those in wide also, same size as before, but they hurt BOTH my feet. They are tight in the toes (a more narrow toe-bed) and pinch the heel. The heel seems very padded. No comment about cushioning as I took these off my feet as soon as I put them on because they rubbed the big toe. Returning shoes

I have been wearing the ASICS GEL-Venture series shoes for years. I usually buy a new pair every 6 months. This was my first purchase of the series '7' and I was disappointed as it seemed to run much narrower than the prior series. Unfortunately, I will have to return this shoe and find a new style.

Gel Venture 7 is much narrower than the Gen Venture 6 (even in the wide width). I've owned many pairs of Gel Venture 5s and 6s and am disappointed in this newest version. While a little lighter and much better looking than the 6, the 7 seems cheaply made. I've never had to do so many lacing adjustments to still end up with blisters and heel slipping (this was never a problem with the 6). Definite return.

I really liked these shoes until about the second month I owned them when the mesh above the toes started to show signs of wear. Three months after purchase, the mesh has fully worn through so that I can't really wear the shoes anymore except to work around the house. I do not have savage toe nails--my socks don't even have holes in them and they're older than these shoes by a long shot! My previous pair of Asics did *eventually* wear out in this manner, but that started after about eight or 12 months of wear, when I would normally be considering a new pair of athletic shoes anyway. So this has made me a little wary of Asics, but the fit and comfort are the best for me so far. I'll purchase again, but this is a bit of a black mark on the brand for me.

I was disappointed in this shoe. I've heard good things about ASICS but it just felt like a cheap shoe I'd get from WalMart. The cushioning wasn't great, and the width was so narrow I couldn't get orthotics in the shoe at all. Just not my shoe, I know others like ASICs a lot.

The show has a weird stiff fabric feel to the upper. The stiff fabric feel made it seem strange when I walked. It is a lightweight shoe and is comfortable overall just felt odd.

Fit and size were fine. I’m looking for a shoe that won’t hurt my feet. I walk and stand 8 full hours a day, and by noon, my feet are aching and throbbing. This shoe wasn’t the answer. Feet still hurt...especially in the heel. I’m not super critical of these, because I just have problem feet and have spent a considerable amount of money in search of the shoe that will work best. Returning these and trying another ASICS style.

I have always liked the fit and style of Asics. I have been wearing the same shoe but in the navy color for only a short time and the foot odors are awful. I have never had this problem before; and it is not present with the other shoes that I bought; so I think it is the materials used to make this style.

I’ve been wearing ASICS for years, size 10. The GEL Venture 7 didn’t seem to have as much cushion as more expensive styles. Fit was spot on for me. The shoelaces are strange...like a strong ribbon. Look like they would work okay although I question if the laces would stay tight over the course of day and they just didn’t seem substantial enough for the long haul. I returned these shoes and went with a different, more expensive ASICS shoe.

Too tight in the toe returned the next day!

This was to be a replacement for GEL-Venture 6 I thought. It runs considerably smaller in length and width and the toe box is quite a bit narrower with a more pointed toe that the 6. It did not work for me which is too bad because I loved the GEL-Venture 6 which is no longer available

Loose fitting * Felt Half Size Longer than my Gel Kahanas * Lacks Sufficient Structure * Returned :( I was hoping to get another pair of Asics trail running shoes for the time when my trusty Asics Gel Kahanas finally wear out. I wear them for walking outdoors and on a treadmill, so light use, but I like the added traction and support of my Asics Gel Kahanas; and I'd like to have another pair that provides the same quality support and traction. My Asics Gel Kahanas are a size 8, and I ordered his Gel Venture 7 in both size 8 medium width, and size 8 wide width (just in case). I tried on the size 8 medium - they fit longer than my Gel Kahanas, and, they felt wider, and, provided much less structure around the foot in contrast to my Gel Kahanas. My right foot kept slipping out of the Gel Venture 7 no matter how tight I tied the shoe. I did not try on the size 8 wide, because I assumed it would be far too big. It seems to me the Gel Venture 7 has far too much fabric that is too loosely woven, and not enough structure to the shoe. The arch support felt fine; that was not the problem. The good news: my Gel Kahanas still have life left in them, so I have time to find a replacement pair. The bad news: I've looked at the other Asics trail running shoes on this site, and it is dawning on me that I might have to switch away from Asics (a brand I have relied upon for decades) and find another brand that manufactures a shoe that is better made.

I had a very high hopes for this trail runner. I love a six, but these felt long enough but they’re all around my toes. Kept rubbing up against my big toe. I have a rather somewhat wide feet though I can get away with medium with most of the time. Not here. I ordered the wide and they were still too narrow for me. The insole is not removable. Since I need arch support, I inserted my slimmest insoles. My wider, left foot was fine but on my right one, the corner of the laces hit too squarely and too tightly. I walked down my hall, which resulted in foot pain. Unfortunately, have to return. They felt supportive only with my insoles. Without them, there didn’t seem much lateral support. Returning ASAP. Nikes fit me pretty well so I’ll go back to them.

Used to buying more expensive Asics. These failed in comparison. Look good, but no arch support and flimsy-thin cushioning in soles.

I wear size 9W but these shoes were shorter and narrower than my usual brand. Unable to evaluate the arch support.

This is a nice looking shoe that had good reviews. Unfortunately, my 9.5 wide foot couldn't get in it. It was too small in width, even after I had taken the shoelaces off. I will keep looking!

This is my third pair of asics gel venture 7. I am very disappointed. My last pair is three years old and is made better than this new pair. Immediately on putting them on it was apparent that the laces were poor quality. My old pair had nice thick laces. This pair the laces are thin and I do not believe they will last. That being said they were comfortable until I got to the gym. Once getting on the treadmill and eliptical it was very evident there was no shock support. My old pair had more gel cushion than the brand new ones. This is very dissappointing as asics has been my go to sneakers for many years.

These are completely falling apart since about the 2 month mark. Not worth ordering. I should've gotten another brand that costs more and lasts longer.
