This model fit very nicely on my feet but the sole was not a cushioned for running as was the contender 5. The shoe laces were also thin making it hard to tie. It was very plan look wise. I ended up going with the contend 5 as it had a much better cushion. Please note that for some reason the Asics contend 5, 6, and 7 has a deep heel base. This causes the shoe to rub the back of the ankle if you have shorter heel height. I have to wear socks that cover my ankles completely otherwise I get massive rubbing wounds that take several days to heal.

I have used ASICS Gel-Venture shoes through several years and still have and wear Venture 5 and 6 issues— but they are wearing out. This particular pair seemed to fit a little strangely in that the heel area of the right shoes fits loosely—something I haven’t noticed in my other pairs. I am hoping a thicker sock will cure the issue. I want these to serve as trade-outs (when going is not rough) for my heavier hiking boots during a sustained hiking venture. I don’t need a shoe which rubs and causes a blister after only 3-4 miles. If they break-in well, I may change my scores.

The fit was fine. However, the color was wrong. Ordered black and blue received black and grey. Have returned.

I like the look of the sneakers but they are not meant for intense athletic use.

Shoelaces were too short and because they are flat ribbon style they don’t stay tied and cut into my feet.

I need to stop trying ASICS - always too narrow for my feet, even in a wide. I’m often drawn in by the reviews for shoes that are good for supinators, but they’re just too narrow. I also need a fairly deep toe box, and ASICS doesn’t work for that either.

Fit is great, its been my favorite shoe for years, which is why I keep ordering them. However, this time the sole is separating from the toe, which has never happened, and I'm actually wearing them less than usual. This is disappointing!

I wear 11.5 but it felt as if my big toes were jamming into the front of the toe box

Smaller than stated size and made narrow. I’ll have to order a size up and WW if I chose to go with this brand.

I have narrow feet and found a good fit with this shoe several years ago, and have bought many pairs since. I walk on pavement, and the sole wears fairly well. However, the GEL-Venture 7 has less arch support and less cushioning than previous models. This is not a bad shoe for the price, but I am now shopping around for a different shoe due to the changes in arch support.

Size and style are good, an easy-to-breathe shoe that are keeping my feet cooler in the hot summer months while walking outside. But not quite as much arch support as I was hoping for, if we've gone for a longer hike my feet as a little sore that evening.

I've worn Asics for several years and have found that no matter which model I choose, I am happy. Not so with these. The material felt cheap. Where I am used to seeing cloth and suede, it looked like they've substituted it with some sort of flexible, almost plastic-like material. I wore the shoes for a few running and functional training workouts. My feet hurt after each one. They didn't feel supportive during running, despite feeling ok while walking. Ultimately, I returned the shoes and am trying a different brand.

I wanted to love them, but too small.

I really wanted to love this sneaker, it seemed to have good treads for hiking and was light weight. Unfortunately, I don't think they had as much cushioning as they advertised as my feet were sore after only a moderate hike. Also, the tongue on both shoes kept slipping, which was annoying and eventually irritated my feet. Overall, these sneakers were not as good for hiking as I hoped they would be and had to return them.

I am a regular walker and have been a fan of New Balance for years. I under pronate and have had plantar fasciitis so I appreciate the stability and arch support of NB. But, NB shoes seem to be in short supply so I went with this Asics Gel Venture. I loved the style and colors - and that’s all. The shoes have little support in the arch or heel and little padding on the heel cuff. I was breaking them in with 2 mile walks and after the second walk, I developed a dime size blister on the back of my heel. That has never happened with NB! I am frustrated with all these brands that seem to be using cheaper materials and provide little support. Thank goodness for Zappos great customer service! The ASICS are on their way back and I continue my search for a supportive, stylish, well-made walking/running shoe. Is that too much to ask?

I got these shoes and was hoping they would fit. The problem is that they are roomy across the wide part of the foot, but taper in dramatically in the toes and get very narrow. My toes are not shaped in a point, my toes are spread out. I search for shoes with a wide toe box and these are what I got! They do not have a wide toe box, they have a tapered narrow toe box. This is frustrating.

They are good looking shoes, but I did not feel they had enough support for running. They fit and felt like casual shoes that look like running shoes, but aren't really for running. Stiff, minimal arch support, and the insole is not removable (so I can't even make them more supportive with my own insoles). I was looking for shoes for occasional trail runs and light hikes, but these won't do it. As far as size, I felt that they fit true to size and width.

I have a wide foot, and these fit my foot as well as the Venture 6 style. HOWEVER - there is NO arch support at all. It looks as though an extremely thin layer of foam was glued into the footbed - and not even straight - and running in these is painful. I don't like the shoelaces, either - they're flimsy and not long enough! I'll either have to buy some kind of insert to make these comfortable to walk and run in - or return them. VERY disappointed.

GEL-Venture 7 fit fine and are comfortable. I have a narrow foot - they're pretty adjustable. They would score MUCH better if they weren't so HOT. I don't know how other brands do it - different materials or what. I thought it was my imagination but then I noticed other people comment about it as well.

The information on the website didn't say these run small but they clearly do. I always take a 6.5 or 7. I ordered a 7 and my toes are cramped. Have to send them back, sigh. Also, as some others noted, the arch support is minimal.

I really liked the comfort of the shoe but my toes hit right at the top of the shoe and I was afraid overtime that would be uncomfortable.

I buy ASICS because of the arch support as I have a high arch. Not sure why but it seems ASICS has lowered the standard in this area. Therefore I needed to buy inserts that gave me the support I need. I’m disappointed

Didn't care much for this shoe. It felt roomy inside the shoe with little support all around. The style is ok but its not for me. Returned it.
