I've been wearing Kayanos for over 15 years, I normally buy 2-3 pairs at a time so I can prolong their lives by rotating shoes throughout the year. My last pairs were Kayano 27s. This new Kayano 29s were a big disappointment. The angle of the heel has been changed (steeper) that it has completely changed the feel of the shoes and has ruined it for me. I wanted so badly to like these new shoes but I kept getting shin splits while using them that I gave up. The shoes themselves are well made, good material, good padding/sole. But none of that mattered because they were so uncomfortable. I ended up returning them

I've bought multiple pairs of the Gel Kayano's since the 25, always in 6.5 Wide. The sizing for these is slightly bigger (~1/2 size), meaning my purchase of 3 pairs during Black Friday can't be used. Highly suggest trying these on in-store before buying your normal size.

I had high hopes for these shoes, but they gave me awful blisters despite spending plenty of time breaking them in before going on runs. Bummed out- they're just not the right fit I guess :(

Okay for causal walking, but for long distance the shoe became very uncomfortable in the toe box and forefoot. Not the best on any terrain.

I have worn ASIC gel nimbus for years. I bought this style because I don't care for the new design on the gel nimbus. I figured it should be similar considering they both are for neutral stride and it's ASIC so how can I go wrong? WellI was soooo wrong. I don't if it's this particular pair of shoes, but the quality is not the same. They look cheap and feel cheap. I wore them to work (I'm an RN and on my feet for long hours) and my feet were killing me by the end of the shift. They def don't fit the same as the nimbus, either. I feel like they may run slightly bigger. I'm really disappointed because I'm never going to buy the new nimbus design.

For years, I wore this Asics model and then pivoted to a different brand. Not as comfortable as I remember them being. Somewhat stiff but I'm getting used to them.

I have ordered the Asics Gel-Kayano or years from you. It is the most comfortable shoe for my feet and for the plantar fasciitis condition. This time, the shoes are uncomfortable and the structure is different. I took all the packaging and threw it out, not realizing the shoe would be so different. It is not good for walking outdoors which is the primary purpose. What shoe would be similar to the previous Gel-Kayano?

I usually love my Gel-Kayano 29 ASICS, but something about the manufacturing of this shoe is off. I have used this same model 5 times, but when I bought my latest pair, the shoe construction caused rubbing and irritation in my interior ankle bed and sole of my foot. I think something went wrong in the manufacturing cycle of this latest batch.

Unfortunately I am having a very difficult time with the left heel. It is too tight. I have plantar fasciitis & Achilles tendinitis. I love the sneakers but just can't wear them without pain.

I've had several pairs of Gel Kayano running shoes, and loved them. For some reason, this pair doesnt work for me and causes pain in my feet. I am unable to wear them for walking or running without being super uncomfortable. They look nice, but they are not the shoe for me.

My feet burn and get numb after 15min of running. Didn't have that problem with the previous model from a couple years ago.

Would be comfortable but hurt my feet horribly - I thought they fit, but took them on a 10 mile run and the ball of my foot was hurting so bad. I think they were a half size too small, even though I ordered my regular size in all shoes and thought they fit when I first put them on. Now I can't return them :(

Very comfortable shoe, exactly what I was looking for. I was happy with them until I noticed a portion of the sole was detaching from the right shoe after ~6 weeks of very light use. I wear them 1-3 times per week for everyday errands. Really disappointed by the quality.

Not comfortable at all. I ordered my normal shoes size which it fit fine when I put them on. However, after walking with them for about an hour my toes hurt so much couldn't Waite to get them off!

I thought they would be super comfortable because the sole seems well cushioned, but to surprise my feet hurt pretty bad after standing for long periods of time.

I am a bit disappointed in my newest pair. My first pair felt very supportive and has given me great arch support. This pair, as soon as I put my foot in it, it felt different. My foot sunk to the bottom more. I should have boxed it up and exchanged it right at the moment but didn't. I now regret it. It feels like it is 6 months older than my first pair and it is one month newer.

I had to return them because my back hurt when I wore them around the house, The Kayano 28 was great (many others thought the same) and I wish you would keep some of these older versions. I have been an Asics loyal customer for over 30 years but now I am exploring other brands. Please don't fix what isn't broken!

I am a long time wearer of the Kayano, since the early 2000s. I have flat arches and overpronate - to the point of injury. These were the ONLY stability shoes I could wear, and they were amazing! In changing the Kayano to look more like Hoka, they removed the truss system in the soles and it changed the entire structure of the shoe. I wore my new Kayano 29s for a run 3 times, and every time I had calf cramps and shin pain. Sadly, I can no longer wear this shoe, and cannot find any other running shoes so replace them. The 30s are no better. PLEASE, PLEASE bring back the old design of the Kayano with the truss system!

I have bought numerous ASICS shoes over the years and never had an issue, but I have a serious problem with this pair. It has an annoying rubber squeaking noise. I work in a hospital and needless to say you can hear me coming down the hallway.

All I wear are the ASIC Kayano. I bought 2 pairs of the 29 model, and sent both pairs back (which I've never done). I noticed after I got them it said Lyte foam (or whatever it was). The cushion on the insole is basically non existent compared to all of my other models. It felt like I was standing on the ground. If you don't want much out of an insole, then these are for you. If you buy new shoes because you need a quality insole, make sure you don't get the "Lyte" version. I buy 2 - 4 new pairs at a time and rotate depending on what I'm wearing, so I was bummed when these weren't what I was expecting out of ASIC.

I used to love Gel Kayano sneakers and have been wearing them for years. The earlier version was light, comfortable, almost imperceptible on my feet, while still providing stability and support. Unfortunately, the new design is unworkable for me. The new shoes are literally longer and wider even for the same size shoe, so they look like and feel like clodhoppers. The soles are too thick and spongy - making it harder to connect with the surface I'm working out on and making the bottoms of my feet tingle uncomfortably. The backs are too tight and narrow, putting pressure on my heels (and I have narrow feet, so I wonder how it feels on folks with wider feet). I will no longer buy Asics Gel Kayanos and will probably start looking at another brand for my sneakers in the future.

I bought this shoe to replace my beloved Kayano 27. The foot bed is comfortable and the shoe is lightweight but the sole is clunky and has no flex. They don't have the same support as the 27s, they aren't as sturdy to correct pronation, and the tread seems flimsy. Cool color selection but I am disappointed in the reduced quality and inability to rely on a product that works for my fitness needs.
