OK shorts, but i have a 34 waist so i ordered a 34. Got a 37. Tried to wash in hot water. Got it to about 35. What size should one order to get a 34?

These shorts are such a great color (Nantucket red!) and look, but unfortunately the fit wasn't right for my slim-hipped (+ slim legs) boyfriend. He was swimming in fabric. A size down was still too generous -- will try to find a better "slim-fit" short that works for him.

I was hoping for an all-cotton pair of shorts, but like so many these days these have some spandex

These are great shorts, but Nantucket Red, Nautical Red, Breton Red - whatever you want to call it - is no longer available? I would have thought that was a standard color. It sure is around here.
Maybe it's now called Light Hickory, but online it doesn't look same at all.

I first bought a few of these shorts in 2021 and they fit great. In 2022 I ordered a couple more pairs -- same size -- and they were both larger than what I bought the year before. For my most recent purchase this year, I ordered a size smaller and they're still bigger than the originals that were a size bigger 2 years ago (I have not shrunk, for what it's worth). The earliest ones I bought fit better. I'm disappointed, because at one point they were great.

The Lakewashed Stretch Kaki Shorts are just great looking, fit well and feel good on. The only problem is that they have to be ironed because they wrinkle when washed and dried, either on a line or in a machine. I iron the because I like them.

My husband bought these in his normal size 34 waist thinking because all his other shorts in that size fit him. Well, unfortunately, he washed them before trying them on (in cold water as instructed) and dried them on low. Couldn't get them buttoned they were like a size 32 waist! Nice looking shorts but he won't be wearing them - and can't return since they're washed. He purchased another different brand in size 34 and they fit perfectly.

Shorts run small also the leg opening is quite large and baggy I normally fit into the large category in my other shorts as I have a 38 - 39 inch waist when I went up in size to ex- large the clothing is way to big that said the construction of the shorts is good just can't seem to find my correct size here !

The size is off. I have 4 pairs of these I bought about a year and a half ago. They fit perfect. I decided to get more and the ones that were just sent to me were larger, the material was thinner and the inseam was longer. They seemed like a cheap knockoff. I hope it's just a fluke, but there is another reviewer with the same issue, around the same timeframe as me. Customer service was great and understanding and they are sending me another order in the hopes that they are actually the real deal.

Size 34 was much too big. They actually fell off my hips.
I returned weeks ago and have not yet received a refund or any response.

Nice look, feel and style for the mature male form.
Deal breaker: how about a 10 in. inseam!!!?
Negotiable: more colors please?

The quality of the material is cheaper than the same lakewash shorts i bought in store years ago. I do not like ordering clothes online because of this.

Not the same shorts I've bought in the past. Dark in color and too long. Had to return them.

Great looking, quality shirts, but they run too small. I have two pairs of the original (not stretch) lake washed khaki shorts, both I'm size 35 and they fit perfectly and comfortably. I got these I'm a 35, and they are too small. I can get them on but they are so tight that they are uncomfortable to wear. Significantly different fit than the OG. Unfortunately, I took the tag off before wearing.

Wish these also came in natural fit. I took a chance on standard, but felt too confining. I'll be returning.

These are nice shorts, but they just didnt fit me. I have 34" waist and ordered the 34" waist size, but found the shorts to be uncomfortably tight around the thigh. Another reviewer mentioned the same issue and suggested that one should order the next size up. I followed that advice and ordered the 35" waist size, but found them to be just as tight around the thighs. This trimmer leg fit seems to be a trend (I had the same issue with the Dock Shorts), but I am just not a fan and look forward LL Bean loosening these Lakewashed Khakis and the Dock Shorts up a bit.

When standing, the shorts are a good two fingers above the knee. But they are a bit tight and ride up the leg when sitting. A longer inseam would be better, I'd say. Other than that, the fabric and feel are very nice.

It was at least 2 sizes to small in waist! I sent them back and are afraid to reorder larger size!
