I like these pants but the tie string is slick and hard to get tight

Generally pleased, fit slightly long (small 28") I am a small guy (5'-4" 125 lbs.) My criticism pretty much echos many of the comments on this product. The material is fragile, easily snagged. an imperceptible brush can leave noticeable run in fabric. And secondly the lack of an operable fly is a real issue. A $70 pair of slacks should be user friendly.

Pants are great. Took them on a 4 day kayaking trip and wore them every night and some days. Plenty of room in them but they certainly aren't a baggy pant. I'm a 34-36 waist depending on the brand so I got the large. I am probably at the low end of needing the large. I do wish I could tighten the waist a little more or have a fabric belt on them. All in all, great pants and I would purchase again.

I ordered a 2nd pair. They have become my daily go-to pants at home. Very light and you barely know you are wearing them. Down 1 star because 1) If they had a fly they would be much better 2) the adjustment cinch at the leg bottom is almost impossible to reach to make an adjustment; tucked away in the hem. Highly recommend

My error. The style is great but the fabric wasn't what I wanted. Cotton is my fabric of choice for hot, humid conditions. Maybe Bean's will make these in cotton for next summer.

I guess I didn't read all the details, especially the material,I thought it they were made of cotton such as lounging pants. They we're pretty big for 38-40 waist, probably my bad I have ALWAYS lov d LL Bean products.I have been on a bad roll lately with sizes.Plus they were pretty pricey.

I bought three pair of these pants as soon as I saw that they come in 28 inch length. They are lightweight for summer days and offer some sun protection. With two changes, they could be great: 1) The "standard" fit sits below the waist; I am constantly pulling my pants up, which makes them look short. How about a pant that sits where it belongs -- at the waist? 2) The drawstring sits outside the pants instead of inside where they belong. Why would anyone design a pant with a drawstring that hangs outside from your waist? I like these pants and recommend them. But these two things strike me as design flaws.

Perfect for running around town or camping, or simply sitting. Zippered pocket is great for wallet or cellphone.

Great feeling good fit but the pants have no fly but would be much better if they had a fly.

Would have been better for me if draw-string at waist was on inside. Dislike the elastic at the hem. About as comfortable a pant as I have owned.

I thought that I would try these pants at the gym and they worked great. They are comfortable, light weight and very cool. I have a pair of Multisport shorts for very warm days, but I find the pants to work very well on a normal workout of running, walking and a couple of classes. I have both 30" & 32" inseams and find the 30" to work better as they will move to lower waist during a workout. I typically wear 31" inseams on chinos and 32" on dress pants.

The only thing that would improve them is a fly

Good product, but the first time I wore the pants the mechanism at the bottom to tighten the bottom of the pant leg came apart and I see no way to fix it as it is sewn into the pant leg. disappointing.

don't love the texture of the material, but it is nice and breathable. Cinching cuff on the legs is an excellent touch, as is the zipper front pocket for securely holding keys when hiking

These are pretty nice sweatpants. There are elastic drawstrings around the ankle cuffs so they will fit lengthwise. At this price point I would think they should have a fly. The fabric is not as nice as good old fashioned cotton and it has a slippery feel to it. Despite these shortcomings they are still nice pants. There have been others on this site that are superior in feel and also cheaper.

Good product, but be careful if you have a cat in the house who might sit in your lap while you're attired in these.

The pants are just slightly loose in the waist, but the drawstring helps in this regard. They fit nicely through the hips and legs. They are lightweight and breathable making them comfortable around the house. I have not had a chance to try them during a a cool weather outside workout, which was one reason I bought them, but I anticipate they will be fine.

Love these! Nice and comfortable loose fit for a "stocky" type like me. Comfortable waste band with draw string, and true to fit. Pockets are very functional...appropriate depth and roominess. I've been wearing them a lot outdoors and have noticed a few fabric picks developing, so not entirely for outdoors activities like hiking or trips into the woods. More of a lounge pant or for casual outings.

Basically, I like the pants. Cut generously, nice material, well made. I don't like the method of tightening the leg bottoms...a complicated adjustable cord that seems certain to break over time. Also, I think these were overpriced.

Since I live in Southern California I bought these pants to wear as active wear when the weather is cool. I have used them for early morning dog walks and yesterday for a round of golf. What I love about L L Bean clothing is the construction is always spot on and they are always about function over form. To that end, what is this new obsession with drawstrings on the out side of pants and shorts (and not just L L Bean). There is no functional reason why the drawstring needs to be on the outside of these pants and not even solid black. It has a nice gray and black pattern that draws everyone's eye to the drawstring. In my opinion, drawstrings should always be on the inside of the waist band and used to adjust the fit of the waistband. I worked as an executive in the apparel industry for over 50 years and just recently retired so I do have a experience in garment construction. I will continue to love your clothing but not outside drawstrings.
