Synthetic-y material is very light. Will be good for hiking in medium-hot and mild (though not cold) weather. Not pants you could use for work or anything semi-formal. They have a drawstring at the bottom cuff, which I wasn't expecting, but you can pretty much ignore it if you don't use it.

These have replaced the 1912 Jeans as my new favorite LL Bean pants. My next pair will be Medium, however. The small is a little snug. Please offer these in a 29" inseam for us shorter guys. I had to have the 30" altered ... but other than this, they are still terrific pants.

perfect, but if the designers had placed the waist ties on the inside, instead of hanging outside, then they would be perfect. Such a simple alteration, but it was missed. The strings hanging outside like cheap sweatpants detracts.

I like everything about the sweats except that there are gaps in the size fittings. There is no size 31 which is what I require, only 30 or 32. If you fit within the exact size parameters, then these are for you. If not, your are out of luck.

Very comfortable but it has a tendency to fall below my waist. I finally had to buy an elastic grip strip to prevent that somewhat embarrassing problem.

I was looking for a lightweight, stretchy pant that was cool enough to wear in the summer while hiking, doing errands around town, biking to my local brewpub, or lounging around the house and these pants genuinely fit the bill. The multi sport pant is incredibly comfortable, and looks great whether your exercising or at a casual restaurant. The only qualm I have with this pant (and reason I took off a star) is that I wished the lower leg was a little more trim/tapered for a more stylish fit.

Would give them 5 stars, but my only complaint is the elastic in the waste should be stronger.

Purchased for a gift. Very nice active style...soft, attractive and comfortable but they were too big. Reordered in a smaller size. My son loves them. Gave the large to my husband. He also likes them. However, his only complaint is that the elastic on the waistband is too loose. There is a drawstring that helps to tighten the pants.

Good quality product as expected from L L Bean. Light weight, booth cool and warm--go figure. Two points that could be better for me (1) distance from waist to crotch seam could be another inch or two longer, and (2) my toes catch on tie loops around the ankles when I put on in bare feet.

These will be perfect for casual wear...to the store, gym, etc. Very comfortable. I had to have the length shortened. You really need a 28" inseam for us smaller guys. This cost you one star. Otherwise, very nice.

The pants are fine, but I don't understand why they.dont have a fly. (I mean I do,.it's to save $$), but it makes a really good product average at best.

I have purchased 5 pairs of the Multisport pants. I love the lightweight feel of the fabric. The pants are very comfortable to wear in the heat of summer, for hiking and all outdoor activities. My only issue is the fabric pills after three to four washings. I wash them inside-out on a gentle cycle and let them air dry, and the pants still pill. It's very annoying because you lose the original feel of the fabric, and the look of the pants is diminished. My only other suggestion, not a complaint, is if L.L.Bean would move the drawstring for the waistband inside the pants. This would clean up the look even more and make the pants look less like sweatpants.

I liked the pants but had to return as they did not fit like I hoped

When I ordered these pants in black, I already had a pair I love in a very dark turquoise color. The two pairs have the same fabric content on the label, but the black fabric is not as soft. When I washed the black ones for the first time, they emerged from the drier with lint on them, although I have never had such a problem with my washing machine or dryer. The lint was especially hard to remove from the fabric, too.

Why does this item not have a fly? Not the first time I have purchased a product from Bean that should have ,but doesn't have, a fly. Does it cost a lot to add that feature? I don't understand. Otherwise it looks to be well made.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
The pants are overpriced for what they are. They are also uncomfortable as there is no real padding on the inside of the waistband. It's just the same, thin material as the rest of the pants. You can feel the drawstring tightly around your waist.

XL was too big in the seat, replaced with L, elastic waist is almost too tight.
Length is perfect, seat is perfect.

Comfortable, roomy, nice to relax in. Only issue is the draw string. It's useless.

PRODUCT NOT AS EXPECTED 1) No fly front. My fault, should have seen from illustration. 2) Elastic at bottom cuff of pants. This was not expected or wanted. If so, I would have purchased other product. 3) Fabric is great!

These are really comfortable, but one of the reasons I chose them is the fly. Turns out it's fake. What's the point? Disappointing.

Good sizing of waist and length. Would prefer to have a zipper. Washed well. Good fabric.

I would give it five stars except that they tend to have static cling. Otherwise, they are what I expected.

Too thin. Like deep pockets & zipper on rear. Drawstrings at legs don't stay to tighten it.
