The Cresta water proof pants have a good fit, maybe a bit oversized in the waist (but I may be losing inches walking around in splendid isolation) but unlike several recent LL Bean pants, the pockets are actually good sized and useful! These were the non-zipoffs, and are good for temperatures up to 68-72 (though I run warm) and are truly water resistant - the Pacific Northwest in spring definitely allows one to test that. The lower legs are not as loose as older style hiking pants, but still have a roominess. They are a little looser than the stretch version ( but the stretch version has fewer and shallower pockets), but still a good fit and comfortable.

I really like the lightweight nylon pants. They are water resistant and wash and dry easily.

Great travel pants. I have several pairs. I like the pockets on the side with zippers for phone and wallet. In all my pants and shorts of this make the weak point is the waste snap..it should be a button..the snap grows weak with wear and washing. I would also like Bean to create similar pants with a more conventional appearance so they could be worn in a more urbane environment. Chaps has a good looking version of the shorts, but I have not found good looking long pants.

Great pants for hiking, camping, travel, or just hanging out. Bought these to replace the Timberline convertible cargo pants that are no longer available on LLB. Like these better. More comfortable and stylish.

Very good fit and finish. My only disappointment is that the back pockets are either too big or too small. Too big for a wallet or pocket comb...they flop around. Too small for a field guide or larger stuff.... the pocket is big enough but the opening is too small to fit them in.

I'm a short, mid-aged woman looking for decent-looking weekend pants that have a leg pocket big enough to zip in a cell phone. All the women's pants with leg pockets had tiny pockets that might hold a key or folded money, but not a cell phone, so I settled for men's style. The pants are a bit too baggy for my style, but I really just bought the nice pocket on a pair of presentable pants. Wish LL Bean would make women's clothes that are as usable as men's!

I returned them as they were not even close to what I thought I would be getting. I guess shame on me for this choice.

These pants replaced a similar pair I had for many years before the waist grommet failed. These pants are not soft like the prior ones--they feel oddly stiff.

The seam on one of the legs opened after wearing only three times.
Have numerous pairs of Cresta pants and this is the first time I had a problem.

I like them for 4 zippered pockets as I have recently been pick-pocketed. Material seems they started out to make parachutes and ended with cargo pans. Warning! Nylon burns...fast. Best for tropical climates...otherwise also order insulated underwear. On...those wrinkles are permanent. The longest inseam 29 I have seen...they are going to be shortened. Please bring back "Allagash"... great cargo pants with 2 deep zippered pockets. After all that, I am about to reorder. :-)

Nice pants, decent but not great water resistance. Not as much wind resistance as I would like. The multitude of zipper pockets are great. Overall comfortable, and true to size.

I did not like the feel of the Cresta hiking pants. I am hooked on Mens Multisport Standard Fit Pants. Nothing else compares them and I judge all others but them.

I really like these pants. Light, strong material, dry very fast and fit well. I really like the four pockets with zipper enclosures. I bought 4 pairs within the past 14 months. One lined. One with zip off lower legs. I wear them all 4 seasons for recreation, a night out and to work. Unfortunately, the zippers on 3 pairs either ripped or broke. LL Bean replaced 2 of the 3. The third pair were no longer under warranty because I returned them 13 months after purchase!! What happened to the lifelong warranty?

The pants themselves are great. But the zippers for the pockets are a problem. One becomes inoperable within a couple of years on virtually every pair I've had. Most recently, a zipper broke within weeks of purchasing the pants.

My husband already had two pairs of these hiking pants, and wears them very often. He especially loves the stretch in the material, and not just while we're traveling. Though he has gained weight since 2022, the stretch in the waist still fits him ok. So I ordered the new black color in a 36 waist again, and there was no give in the waistband, though the material seemed the same. He could not get the snaps closer than 1.5" apart. So we ordered a 38 waist pair, which did have more "give" in the waistband. But the pants legs are now wider (looser) which makes them look messy, and more wrinkly. These just aren't the slightly dressier black Cresta pants we had assumed they would be. Or as great as the blue and gray pairs he has had for 3 years.

I have several Cresta pants in shorts, long, and zip. I've loved them. However, this last pair mysteriously had a waist size that was over an inch bigger than all the previous ones. Recently bought some jeans that were about 2 inches longer than the inseam lable. LL Bean needs to monitor its sizing for consistency - especially for mail order when you have the hassle of returning and hoping the new pair will actually be the right size.

1st wash started to pill where my phone holster was rubbing. I would expect more from an item with this price and features. My Wall mart timberline hike pants have way out performed these so at $26/pant i could buy 4. Not impressed.

The men in my family love these hiking pants but quality control at LL Bean has slipped. My husband has ordered 6 pair and 2 are over two inches larger. My son in law has 3 and this last pair are almost 2 inches smaller measuring the waist. Our son has 2 pair. Suggest LL Bean to have measured prior to leaving the factory or when arriving at your warehouse. The first time I called to report the huge difference I was met with indifference form the male that answered. Later a woman called and has been trying to help get us the correct waist size (we are not worried about the color) just the correct waist , and it has been over two weeks. 5 star on the pants and 1 star regarding the correct labeled size.

I brought a taller size and I appreciate that the waist is higher and gets the pants belt location off my hips. Pants legs are too wide, one inch narrower to 8" in lieu of 9" would make them more stylish.

Very frustrated with LLBean. I bought 2 pairs of this pant in different colors because I had previously purchased another pair and like them. I bought same size as the pair I already own. The platinum color fit just like the pair I owned and the gray alloy was too small despite the fact that they were both the same size. The worst thing is, LL Bean charged me for the return. They can't make the pants be the same size as labeled AND charge me to return. Buyer beware.
