LL Bean 95% nylon, 5% spandex, 5 belt loops, metal snap closure, plastic zipper. 6 pockets, 2 front pockets have more vertical openings (not as diagonal as other brands), 2 side pockets have horizontal zipper, are 6" H x 6 " W, my phone won't fit in vertically but will fit in sideways or at an angle, but zipper is only 5" wide, so takes some finagling to get it in. Two back pockets are also zippered. 6" zipper, 6 " deep, 8" wide, phone fits in easily, but I don't' like to have phone in back pocket. Good construction, good stitching.

Very satisfied. I don't remember if this particular pant used to come with the clip inside the pocket (great for securing car keys), but that would have been a nice to have.

Nice pants. Durable, quick to dry, the cargo pockets are fairly unobtrusive and waddaya know? They are indeed stain resistant. I like that the upper pockets are no longer mesh.

I would provide a 28 inseam option for shorter guys.

My husband purchased these pants to where while traveling. He likes the fit in every aspect except for the low rise. He would have preferred that the rise be more of a standard fit. Otherwise, he knows these pants will be good for when we travel.

I wanted something for casual wear, camping and trail, lighter than jeans and resistant to rain. In the past I have stayed away from nylon as it felt weird and is noisy ("swishy"). But I am getting used to the feel and the noise. I have found that, with spandex in the fabric, I need to wear a size smaller in waist. Normally I wear a 35/30, but in this case the 34/30 was a little wide and long. I don't see this as a standard fit as the pants ride high, above the waist, which I am fine with. They are a full cut, indeed baggy in the legs and flared (remember the seventies?) at the ankles. The pant is cut like a slack or chino, with front pockets along the seams on the sides. (In contrast to the "mountain pant" which is cut more like a jean. hanging below the waist and slim-legged, the near opposite of these "hiking" pants, They are utilitarian for the outdoors but not stylish for travel.

I ordered 35 inch waist. Waist of pants received, buttoned and zipped was 39.5! Cant keep them up even with a belt. I wonder what size to try next to fit my actual 36 inch waist. Dont have the patience to continually reorder till one fits.

They are great pants, except for one thing. I asked for 29". They were definitely too, too long. My other 29" pants from Dockers and Marks and Spencer fit perfectly.

These pants have been redesigned several times. They have been improved greatly. Weight, crotch, design, pockets all are very good quality. A good buy if they could get their sizing up to speed. I must of sent back 6 pair. I wear 3434. But bean sticks with you until they get right. A really good pair of hiki g or canoe & kayaking pants.

I wear 30" x 30" dress pants and jeans. I ordered this size for these pants, but they are more 31" waste and 32" length. They are too big and I am returning them, unfortunately.

I was looking for desert pants, and these had a 36" inseam, which is hard-to-find. These do the job, but I don't like the feel of the fabric and the zipper pockets are weird.

I had bought the gray pair for my husband a few weeks prior and they fit perfectly. So we ordered 2 of the tan for his work but they are so much bigger. It's strange. I have already washed them and such so will try to get them taken in and hemmed. Otherwise, he says they are super comfortable and light.

A full star comes off the rating because they are quite loud when walking. You won't sneak up on any wildlife in these.

Very comfortable fit. Some much so, I bought another pair. However, had to downgrade the rating because of a cosmetic issue with some stitching in one pair, which was promptly replaced under warranty.
Still in all, I like the pants so much I have now ordered a pair of zip pants.

I love the feel and fit of these pants. It has not yet rained so I don't know about water resistance. I was going to order another pair, but I thought maybe I'll wait another year and Bean will get rid of the stupid snap and replace it with a button.

nice pants, comfortable, but a little noisy they kind of sound like you're walking in snow pants. Runs big, my waist measures 36" and I ended up with a 34" pant. Thankfully LL Bean has an easy exchange process.

I have been a 34-32 size for many years, my orders have always been the same. Usually the pants have a elastic waist band which allows more flexibility. When I first tried these pants on I thought the lack of an elastic waist band was the reason that they felt quite looser than my other pants. After wearing the pants around the house for two day's I realized the waist size was more like a size 36 or 37 than 34 for me. In spite of this, I plan on going to your store and find a size that fits me, I really liked the pants.

The pants are fine except the pockets are too small to accommodate my "DayMinder, AT-A-Glance, Weekly Appointment Book".

Bought these for hot & humid weather and so far they're doing the job. Waist size runs a little large and pockets are a little shallow but otherwise I recommend them for the dog days of summer.

My goal was 1. lightweight 2. evaporates water 3. good pockets 4. relaxed fit.
These pants are lightweight. There is some stretch to them. The fit is reasonably relaxed. The material is synthetic, appear to be pretty tough and do shed moisture pretty well. The change pockets are good. The large pockets on the side could be a bit bigger, with a larger entry.
In the hot humid South, I would have preferred a bit looser weave, but that is not always possible.

Very comfortable hiking pants. Lightweight and cool. I hike every week doing trail work, and have several pairs. Once the snow melts, I switch to these until the snow returns in the late autumn. Lots of pockets for carrying everything I need, with zippers for securing valuables. Only used for a couple seasons, so not sure about durability yet, otherwise I would make it 5 stars. So far no problems. So comfortable, I just bought another pair for leisure summer time wear.
