The legs are a little wider at the bottom than I like, the original cresta pants had a straight leg and these are more like a boot style leg which make then a little sloppy.

Very high waist on these, places belt way too high so the belt is ineffective in holding them up. So they drop down rendering the inseam too long. Excellent fabric, well made, but who are these made to fit?? Try before you buy. First and last time for me.

Baggier fit than the mountain hiking pants which aren't currently available

Very comfortable, but very loud in terms of the swishy noise they make. I also have a pair of Columbia hiking pants that do not have this issue.

Like the material and the cargo pockets. The two issues I have are: 1. I usually wear 38-32 pants. The length was slightly longer and returned for a 30in length which is better. 2. LLB seems to have reduced the number of belt loops on a lot of pant styles. These pants only have 5 loops and I find 2 more loops are needed to keep fabric from slipping. Going to return the second pair also.

Nice pants with an unflattering baggy cut. But for hiking I guess they'll do the job.

YThe pants are considerably larger than stated size. The waist snap is too small. The front zippered pockets are not deep enough to hold a smart cell phone.

Fabulous pants, nice material, good features, great workmanship. So why only three stars? Size. I have a 34" waist. Over the years I have bought lightweight hiking pants from a variety of manufacturers, including LL Bean. 34" waist every time. So I bought these without hesitating. I knew they'd fit, so I pulled off all the labels and threw the packaging away. Mistake. That weekend I took the dog for a walk up in the mountains. "Hmm, the pants are a bit loose, but maybe that's a good thing." It wasn't. After climbing for a few yards I had to cinch up my belt to keep the pants on. Eventually, I had to pull the belt so tight that there was a big fold of material at my waist. The legs ballooned around my thighs. I thought, "These pants were made for a guy weighing at least 50 lbs more than me." Back home I compared the pants to the worn out pants these were to replace. The new pants were two full inches larger in the waist. This wasn't just a one-off error either. I had also bought an identical pair made with the insect repellent material, and they were too big too. So, what to do? I wanted new pants, these were perfect except for the size, so I order some with a 32" waist (and no, the gizmo to help you with your size was no help; it insisted that I should order 34"). When the package arrived, I opened it with some trepidation. After all, LLBean might have discovered their error and corrected the size. But no, the new pants fit me perfectly. So now, for the first time in 50 years, I'm wearing size 32" pants. Vanity sizing may help to sell products, but it can be infuriating.

I have bought these pant in the past and really like them...very comfortable and fit me well. However I am only rating them a 3 because for some reason LL Bean has redesigned the pants so that the openings on the front pockets are only 4 1/2 inches, they use to be 5 1/4 inches. I have average sized hands and it is a tight squeeze to get my hands in and out of the front pockets. Sounds like a minor inconvenience but it is amazingly irritating especially when you consider that they had it right and then made this change. Might work for a women's pants but not for men's. What were you thinking??

Very comfortable pants. I wish the pockets were deeper to accommodate a Pixel XL phone with an Otterbox case. I bought the pants for a trip because they have the zip pockets. I'm thrilled LL Bean still makes pants with 36 inch inseams.

I am a 71-year-old woman. I purchased these pants because I wanted water resistant hiking pants with straight legs and a waistband that comes up to my waist. I find pants that ride below the waist very uncomfortable, as they always feel like they are going to fall off. The only Cresta pants available in women's sizes have slim legs and "modern" waist. So I purchased the smallest men's size, but it's still too large for me. So disappointed. Will you ever offer women's water resistant hiking pants with a waistband that sits at the waist?

cargo pant pocket zipper is too thin and needs both hands which is extremely inconvenient and poor design.

I ORERED THESE HIKING PANTS THAT WERE UNLINED BECAUSE THE LINED PANTS WEREN'T IN STOCK UNTIL SEP. SO I THOUGHT I'D GIVE THESE A TRY. I WOULD RATE THEM AVERAGE OR OK, I PREFER THE LINED ONES BECAUSE I FIND THEM TO BE LIGHT BUT ALSO WARM.

Wore these in rainy weather, they wrinkle, but kept the rain of my body. If wearing in cold weather suggest wearing some type of long underwear as they are pretty thin.

Great pants with excellent stretch and movement. The waist was nice and snug and nope never lost weight. Found the waist eventually stretched so much and will now fall down during hikes if I do not wear a belt. Only worn 6 times. Will return for a 36 waist. Because of the stretch I would recommend going once size down.

I bought these for my husband for a trip we are taking. He wanted pants that could be washed in a sink if necessary, rolled in a towel, hung up, and would dry overnight. Unfortunately the legs on these pants were so wide that they looked like clown pants. My husband is in his 70s so the wide leg look is not for him, not that he wears tight pants by any means. I had to send them back.

I ordinarily like LLBean clothes because they are sturdy and well made. And the fabric on these is a good weight for me: very light. But the glued-in zippers on the thighs are terrible. I have two pairs and the zippers on both separated and fell out. I have always washed and dried them carefully, and wear them only around the house, but alas! Very disappointing.

Length of 29 inch inseam was way too short compared to other Bean jeans and chinos. Returned them for 30 inch inseam but not very happy to be charged $6.50 for return, especially since the pants measurement was inaccurate.

I have hiked for years and I realize most people don't want tight hiking pants but these pants were so big I could get both of my legs into one leg of the pant and I do not have skinny legs

Very large legs in this Standard fit. Please make Slim or Trim fit to reduce the amount of unneeded fabric through the legs that flaps in the wind. I will need to return. The fabric is great and the backside fits great.

WHAT A WASTE! Pockets are soooo tiny. IPhone doesn' fit below the zippered side "cargo", (LOL), pockets. Glasses cases don't fit below the zippered side pockets.
