The midweight base layer and tees in tall sizes work great for my husband. This one has a "bike flap" at the bottom back, which makes it longer in back, but not in front. The quality is great, but unfortunately the fit is poor.

I ordered this in the Large Tall, my typical size. I'm 6'4" with a 37" sleeve length. The material was great, and it fit through he body well, but the slleves were WAY too short! Maybe 35" long? Sorry, but had to return it.

great fabrics, poor quality design, sleeves and body proportions are huge but short in length, they are not making up the extra for priper fit of the thumbhole, they are also dont line up to your thumbs so you have to twist the end of the sleeve to align them, they seem to be made for short overweight folks but if your slim or athletic body type this will not work for you

Does not really have the warmth or the feel of wool. Not nearly as nice as it was even a few years ago. Had to check to ensure I was not sent the incorrect item.

Perfect Marino wool base layer. So why only 1 star? The 3 DRAB COLOR selection is AWFUL. Where is hunter orange and yellow, not planning on wearing something over these nice tops! Come on, Bean corporate buyers, how much does wool dye cost to make a better color selection.

I bought two of these shirts and both ripped by the thumb hole within 2 months.

I have bought several of these over many years. It was a disappointment to find they are much lighter and thinner than those purchased previously. Old ones weight 11.7 ounces. Recently purchased 9.7. Won't be buying these anymore.

Washed gentle cycle cold, dried gentle low. It shrunk a lot and I can't wear it anymore. I love ll bean products, but this one is a big disappointment.

Had already tried lightweight synthetic print base layer top and pant and lightweight silk base layer top and pant from LL Bean and both were so thin that the cold air between my pant leg and skin while out walking the dogs in early morning went right thru the base layer materials and my skin was just as cold as if I were not wearing any base layer at all .. okay, I thought, I'll try the 250 weight Cresta wool midweight base layer top and pant .. well, the pant front rise is cut a full 3" shorter than the rear rise on the pant .. the front rise barely covers the top of the groin hair area and the rear rise goes up no further than the end of your tailbone, maybe 2" above the proverbial rear crack .. so the pants are a low rise product that does not rise up front or rear to adequately stay up or cover well for base layering .. and the top body length is so short that there is no more than 1/2" of overlap between the bottom hem of the top and the top waistband of the pant for tucking anything into .. this is a truly bizarre piece of tailoring, no matter how much benefit the 250 weight Cresta wool might otherwise have .. so, back to the old drawing board, return these puppies, and try something else .. looks as if the double layer top and pant have enough pant rise front and rear and top body length for tucking to pass muster .. we'll see ..

The "tall" size comes to roughly the middle of my forearm, and can't reach my belt without being stretched. The strange thing is, I've ordered other LL Bean tall size products in the past that *are* actually tall. You'd expect a baselayer to be longer or at least equivalently long in comparison to other tall sizes from the same company, but that isn't the case. Comparing the length of the arms on this item to other tall pieces I've bought both from ll bean and other retailers, they are 3-4" shorter. I suppose I should have guessed something was up when other reviewers that are only 6'0" were mentioning needing to get the tall size. Regardless, this is the second ll bean tall size item I've received recently that is shorter than the regular size of some other brands. It's a worrying trend and I hope it gets corrected.

I've lived in Wisconsin my whole life. This top is what I wear every winter to keep warm and comfortable, secure, and safe. There is nothing like it.

Warm, fits, but didn't make it through one winter! A hole developed after a month regular wear, less than a handful of hand washes! I fear when I stitch this up another will appear, as the fabric is sketch; I've merino wool gear that has held up for a decade, so this is either faulty Chinese manufacturing or some strange recycled fibers are in the fabric. I've no confidence buying anything but the made in USA boots here ever again.

Really disappointed with this purchase. At first the shirt was great and performed well for hiking/skiing/climbing. I've noticed there are small holes forming all over the shirt and the wool is degrading. I've always thought clothes from LL Bean were top notch and worth the price but this shirt is a major disappointment. Of course this happens 14 months after purchase so now there is no warranty. The wool is garbage and I would avoid this shirt.

It shrunk a lot and I can't wear it anymore. I love ll bean products, but the product should never be put in the dryer.
