Medium was too big and boxy, and small way to small

Expected a polar tech soft fleece vest and this vest has scratchy fleece which I think isn't cotton, washed twice with fabric softener and still nft soft or comfortable. Will donated to Salvation Army for someone less fortunate to be able to have warmer clothing

I have given up on LL Bean's sweater fleece. I wear two of your mountain fleece vests, a sweater fleece hoodie, a zip front sweater fleece jacket, and a heavier weight Katahdin fleece zip up pullover. Both of the sweater fleece garments pilled up excessively. After reading a description on your webpage touting an "improved" sweater fleece fabric, I decided to try again this year and bought this sweater fleece vest. I wore it twice under casual wear conditions and it immediately began to pill up like a cheap 70s polyester sweater. I returned it immediately to your Silver Springs retail store. I'm done with LL Bean sweater fleece. PLEASE bring back a proper weight polar fleece that does not look like a shag rug!

Pretty good overall, the collar however is all wrong. The doubled up fleece material makes it too thick to fold over, while the height makes it too tall to stand up without being totally in my face. Pretty glaring flaw in my opinion. This is pretty much a copy of another brands fleece, they should have copied the small things that make the other ones superior.

Nice warm material, good fit, well-made, but pills up badly after only a few wears. Very disappointed. Am returning.

Size too big for L and return fee ridiculous as well as shipping costs.

Sadly, this did not work out for us. The vest material was much lighter than expected & did little to keep my husband warm. We returned.

Different Material from what I thought. I thought this was soft fleece but it's not. Will likely return it.

I like the color, the warmth, and the fit. However, after just a month, the fabric is already beginning to pill. I will unfortunately have to return it.

This was not the product I thought it would be so sent it back for another vest.

I have purchased a number of LL Bean fleece vests over the years. For some reason, they have stopped including the drawcord along the bottom hem which allows you to snug up the bottom of the vest. This vest's design allows cold air to get in under the bottom of the vest. All my other LL Bean fleece vests have this drawstring, so why was it left out in this model? I'll have to send it back.

Disappointed with material; everything sticks to it. Hard to clean off.m

Had a fleece vest many moons ago. It was wonderful. I wore it constantly for probably 10 years. Then I lost it, so I ordered another one, expecting the same quality product. I was wrong. First, the size was wrong. The last vest was an XL, but the current XL was more of a medium. I had to go to 2XL tall to get a good fit. Second, the weave is more .for lack of a better wordfeminine. Maybe that has become the style nowadays, but not for me and a "work and play" vest. Sorry folks

Not impressed. Bought two in the past few months. Washed separately 4 or 5 times, hung to dry - no dryer - but now they are pilling and look worn out.

Color was no where near what the catalogue showed, and was too big

Unfortunately this vest runs big. Vest was for my son-in-law who wears Xtra large and was way too big so we returned and ordered Large size. Hopefully this one fits he really liked the style.

No effort was made by the designer to insure the material that touches the neck is extra soft. The grade of material seems mediocre. The sewing, cut and fit is as would be expected from this price point, but wearing it does not make me happy because the fabric touching the chin and neck still has an itchy feeling about it.

Bought for my husband. He wears a large with everything he owns. 6'3", 195lbs and this was way too big. Still waiting on my exchange for a medium. Hopefully that happens. It seems as though exchanges take a while. Vest is great quality though and can't wait to get the new one.

Bought this about 21/2 years ago. Didn't wear it much the first year but noticed the sweater fabric was starting to pill. Wore it more this past winter and the pilling is now much more noticeable. Stopped by the local Bean store to get their opinion. The rep agreed the pilling was extensive on the front of the vest. Otherwise I like it.

Too big and not at all stylish

Almost good enough BUT if the wind blows into the neck and the fabric at the top of the neck is too stiff it's a fail. Many better alternatives out there.

Just received the vest this morning. My wife and I both said that it looked overly large while still in the wrapper. When I put it on, the length is fine, but the body is way too loose and baggy. I have other brands of fleece in this size. None fit like this.

This vest is not really fleece. It is a knit shell with a fleece lining. Very disappointed with the styling, especially for a $90 vest.

I owned this product before. It had a nice, warm material and a proper fit. The current version has noticeably thinner construction and fits like a sack. Unstylish and cheap-looking vest. Very disappointed. Returned.

Did not know it was a sweater vest, just wanted something lighter. Fleece only!
