It had an awful smell to the fabric which is not completely gone after the first washing.

Love the style and color, wish fabric was a little softer.

Moderately tight across the back and upper arms. Almost impossible to fit over a long sleeved tee. Not in the least a heavy fabric, and not loose enough to wear as a jacket. I can fit it under a sweater if I leave it unbuttoned. I hope it is still wearable after I wash it. On the plus side, the design is nice, as is the color, and I had NO trouble with the buttons, after I opened them for the first time.

The shirt is well made, the fit is true too size ordered but it definitely had an order to it and had to be washed a couple of times too get it out. That is why I gave it three stars.

I would call this a jacket, not a shirt. It is very heavy denim, good for fall garden chores. Fit is loose, and comfortable over a turtleneck.

This jacket is very nice, but it smells! I've washed it, hung it outside, but it still smells! Ironing it was just really nasty! It was made in India, and it still smells like a foreign country!

The only thing I dislike is the strong dye smell which did not go away after washing

I loved the shirt, but I think that I should've had a "relaxed fit" as it was a little tight across the back of the shoulders. I don't remember if this size was offered in the garment... I am still waiting for my returned funds...

The seams are much stiffer than the rest of the shirt, so the shoulders don't lay well.

Your shirt sizes are not consistant. I had to return a corduroy shirt in size large last year because it was too small. I had previously purchased a similar shirt in size large that fit perfectly. So, when I ordered this shirt I ordered an extra large. It is really too big. I am hoping that if I wash it in extra hot water it will shrink.

Good shirt, but boy does it smell bad. Even after many washings I have not yet been able to wear it.

The buttonholes on this shirt are so tight that I thought the buttons must have been sewn on top of the buttonholes. I bought it as a jacket type shirt so I do not expect to button it up--because I don't think that I could.

So disappointed! I've been searching for a long time for a nice, relaxed fit denim shirt. Because of reviews indicating tight sleeves, I purchased my usual size (2X) and the next largest (3X.) The sleeves themselves were fine, but when I reached forward, the shirt pulled on my upper arms. Everything else was perfect, but I knew that tightness would continue to bother me. So both sent back, and I'll keep looking.

The shirt had a strong chemical odor out of the package. Washing has helped some, not sure it is enough until I wear it. One side of collar does not lie flat, even with ironing. Not sure I am going to keep it.

I like the shirt but the arms are a bit snug. I am a weight lifting fan and thought the arms looked looser then they are.

The color and thickness of the fabric is perfect. I bought as a work shirt and unfortunately the upper arms are are a bit tight and it is tight across the back. Perfect for throwing over a tee shirt and running to the store on chilly mornings, though.

Did not care for the fabric; it felt rough and thin and was unappealing looking like a lower quality material.

I returned the shirt....I have long arms and the sleeves were way too long as was the body. Not too keen on the pocket flaps or the white tag on the placket. Overall, not what I was hoping for so sent it back

The shirt was well made and fit well except the sleeves were too tight in the upper arm. Had to return it.

Not only must you be tall, you must have broad shoulders!

I actually love this shirt but I've been alarmed at how terrible it smells. It had a very strong factory oily smell that is only beginning to lessen after at least three washings. I'm not sure what is going on here but it smells like it's been sitting out in a boiler room for ten years before getting packaged up. I would have sent it back but it is such a classic shirt (and seems well made) that I have hopes that I can wash the smell out of it.

i got the 1 X size, I am 5'9 and long limbed; although the shirt fits the body, the sleeves are noticeably short. Not what I expected. I am wondering if Bean sells "tall " sized shirts. May return it, but the shirt is very comfortable and looks good otherwise.

Loved the fit overall, but chemical odor doesn't wash out.

I ordered both colors because of the way the website showed them. Both shirts are quite different from what is shown. I will keep but not truly happy with the colors. Denim material is nice,just not the colors I hoped for.

Nothing to brag about. Runs very small sleeves very short, and is rather stiff and uncomfortable.
