I got the Large petite, I wanted to be able to wear a shirt or tank underneath. For my height the length is perfectly what I wanted, it partially covers my rear without being too long. Thicker than your average denim shirt, not as thick as a denim jacket.

the fabric had a terrible odor - I called you cust. service and she told me to soak it in soda water -- that helped - now has a faint smell

Heavy denim shirt can double as a jacket. Sorry that there is such a color difference (darker) under the buttons.

My bra size is a 40D and the extra large was suppose to fit a chest of 43 to 45 inch chest. This shirt was tight across the chest and the arms. I loved the shirt and was disappointed that I had to return it.

I like the fabric, it's traditional in style, good fitting. The color is not quite as expected. Since it's not been washed, I couldn't comment on shrinkage or color fast. It's a good choice for casual wear.

Whatever was saved in omitting the second button on the cuffs has not paid off in customer satisfaction. Speaking for all thin-wristed ladies, the option to tighten the cuffs on this shirt, especially for gardening, is sorely missed. Breast pockets are appreciated, length is good, number of buttons down the front helpful, fabric weight says it will last awhile.

After first cold water wash and line dry the shirt did shrink somewhat. Still fits ok but would have ordered one size larger to accommodate shrinkage. Great shirt, just a little tight now across back & slightly shorter sleeves. Would recommend ordering one size larger.

Good fit. I have the denim and the light maroon. My only criticism is that it seems to be wearing on the elbows rather quickly. Otherwise I really like them. Another color?

It's a very nice shirt and great quality but I ordered an XL based on the sizing chart and I can barely button it across my chest and it is tight around the arms. I can wear it open and if I don't wear it for doing any physical work, it will be okay but I won't order another one.

Great shirt if you're looking for a boxy western-styled denim shirt without the snaps. The denim fabric is very nice. I've decided that I'm definitely on team no shirt pockets. I wish LL Bean would bring back denim shirts without the double pockets. I still have Item 28093 which long/hip length denim shirt that can be "dressed up". Wish that LL Bean would bring back something like that

Love this shirt. Only complaint is it cut so that it's tight across shoulders. Previous shirts I have ordered in medium and they fit well. The mediums were too small, reordered in large and still it's a little snug in the shoulders. But, it's a nice, durable casual shirt. Not sure why these run so small.

I am actually wearing right now! I've worn it as a light jacket, buttoned with cami underneath, and under a sweatshirt. Thick material, structurally sound. It will no doubt be around for years. Only thing is, it's a bit boxy. I am fairly thin - yoga build, and it looks a bit 'square' on me, if not tucked in on one side...may form to my shape with enough wear, which could be soon enough bc I wear it practically every weekend (when I'm off work)!

Shirt is very comfortable. Would have liked the fabric to be a little softer but it's ok.

I bought the x-large hoping it would shrink. It is 100% cotton. I wear the shirt as a jacket when it is cool. To wear as a regular shirt, I would order the large. It does wrinkle a bit.

I like my new shirt, but it's a bit too big.

I love the fabric and style, but even sizing down, it was extremely large. I had to return it. I've considered ordering a smaller size, but I'm not sure even that would be small enough.

I have had this shirt for many months now, have worn and washed it many times. It is a wardrobe workhouse. The denim is sturdy medium weight, soft to the skin. I often wear it partially buttoned over a white tank and under a vest. I like the lighter color denim with darker color jeans. I sometimes wear medium, sometimes large in shirts. This medium fits comfortably, except the sleeves are too short for my arms. I flip the cuffs up and wear it that way. If I wanted to use it more as an over shirt I would order large. I wash it in cold water, dry on warm for 20 minutes and hang. I don't iron it but if you're fussy about that you'd probably iron the collar, cuffs and placket. Great shirt

I had been looking for a new denim shirt and the style is exactly what I wanted, unlike most others I'd been able to find. The fabric is substantial, yet supple. It's very comfortable and I love the overall styling, although I think metal buttons would have been more suitable. The sizing is off, however. I ordered an XL because I wanted to layer this shirt over a t-shirt, etc. But it's not big enough for that. It fits me exactly like my size L shirts from LLBean. I have an average build. The shoulder seams sit in the same place as my size L shirts, and there is just barely enough room in the chest when I wear this shirt alone. I haven't washed it yet, but if it shrinks I'll have to return it, since it's just barely large enough as it is.

Just feels too "heavy" for my taste and when and where I want to wear it.

I bought this to replace an LLBean denim shirt that is decades old. I like this shirt in concept but I suspect the designers designed it as a shirt to be worn as "fashion", not gardening or labor. It fits but...just. I was hoping for something looser -- with a lot of arm and shoulder room for gardening, etc. Mind is slightly tight in the arms and back.

I really liked the shirt. Looks just like what it's made for. However, shirts are made for people who's shoulders go straight across. Mine slope down, which I think most people's do, causing shirts to not fit well in the back. I guess that's why we used to have shoulder pads in our blouses and shirts. Made them fit better so they didn't sag in the back. So although I didn't really want to, I sent it back since it is rather pricey, but worth it if it fit better in the back.

I was thrilled to see these, and loved the fabric, weight, styling. However, I had to return because "relaxed fit" is not as boxy as it was in the past (I have 2 from a few years back). I am very short waisted, and the slight tapering for the waist means that it catches oddly at the top of my hips. Please bring back the boxier version!

Shirt is made of a nice medium-weight denim. Buttons are substantial. The fabric weight will keep a light chill at bay. The length and construction is good. Shirt does require ironing straight out of the dryer, especially pocket flaps. The inside pockets measure approx 4.5" W x 5 1/4" L. The sleeves are VERY ill-fitting as they bind across the top portion of the bicep and the fabric binds and pulls tight/almost pinches under the armpit when arms are raised above breast level. I really wanted to like this shirt but the restrictions of movement is a huge con for me; not a good choice for most activities or when doing chores.

I was disappointed in the shirt in that it was dark denim colored not like my former L L Bean shirt that was lighter denim colored. I washed this new shirt twice, but to no avail. It is as pictured, dark denim! .

Love the style and color. Only thing is it's a little thick for Florida. If you add some stretch so it doesn't wrinkle as bad would be a wrongful addition.
