Purchased a stone color a few years ago, and compared to the black I just purchased, the stone color had a higher rise, with more generous hips. The black pair has a lower rise, and is more snug around the hip. I wish Bean would be more consistent in cut. I wanted another color because I liked the short. I will keep these. Most of Bean pants I can't wear because they are made for someone with no hips- more of a boy figure- rather than an hourglass figure. Otherwise very well made, like the roll-up leg, and he material is nice without being bulky

I love the comfort of the elastic waistband, and the length -- finally a pair that doesn't ride up in the crotch for those of us with bigger thighs -- BUT the shorts show moisture. I wore these in Florida in high humidity, and it looked like I spilled a drink on myself, or worse! I have them in both green and blue, and the green definitely shows dampness more prominently but the blue does as well. Love the length and fit, but I wish the fabric was more suitable for summer wearing. I fear these may go back.

I have these shorts in a larger size and different color. I liked them so much I ordered this pair in a darker color. I found out from the first pair that they run large. This pair, while still roomy, fit better. My main complaints are, first, that the pockets are too shallow. I use them for hiking and don't trust anything to the pockets. Second, I have to wash this darker pair in cold water. I can't just throw them in with the regular wash. Overall, I really like them. They are very comfortable and versatile.

Overall they were as expected, however had to return as they were so very large on me. I ordered the x-small but way too big! Thank you

These shorts fit slightly bigger than what I was expecting, which is fine as they do have a drawstring. They are well made, good quality, however I am not a fan of the material. It is a lot more stiff than what I was wanting

I bought a pair of these shorts last summer and like them so much I just ordered 2 more pair. They're very comfortable and easy to wear. They wash well - I hang them to dry - and they don't come out wrinkled. I like the option of wearing them longer or rolling them up.

The elastic in these shorts is not too tight, making them very easy to pull on and off. The fabric is a good weight but wrinkles very easily, they need to be ironed if you care about that. I wish there was a pocket on the side to hold a cell phone. The length is good, I do not roll them up.

good quality, comfortable, breathable fabric. My only complaint is that the waist is very loose, but the drawstring fixes that.

I really like these shorts but Ihink that I'll buy a smaller size next time. These run large compared to other LLBean apparel. The rear end sags a quite a bit. I'm glad that the cotton sweater that I bought to go with it covers it up. When these come in additional colors, I'll buy a smaller size

These shorts are well made - I love the material ad the pockets. The quality seems very good. They seem to run large, I bought a medium, which is my normal size, and wish I had bought a small. They are also kind of baggy, and feel a little sloppy for going out. But they will be great for hiking.

I purchased the mauve. I really like the color. The fit is excellent. The waist band is a bit bulky for a pair of shorts, but as I wear loose-fitting T-shirts and never tuck anything in, I don't have any quarrel with the bulk. At $57 for a single pair of shorts, that was the only time I can recall spending that much, but if they're like my many purchases from LLB over the past 55 years, I fully expect I will be wearing them a for at least five years, and they will remain a good fit, colors true, and the quality still evident. .

Like the shorts. Would have given a 5 star review if they had cargo pockets to stow my phone.

Fit well, well-made, sturdy and comfortable, but the fabric is very prone to wrinkles and difficult to iron. So I have to choose between ironing every time I wear them or being a wrinkled mess. I would never buy them again unless they were made of some type of synthetic wrinkle-free fabric.

Just make the pockets deep enough to hold a phone! Love the fit, comfort ,fabric (is a bit wrinkly straight out of the dryer) But can't LL Bean make women's bottoms with reasonable pockets? I don't have a huge phone (iPhone X) and it peaks out of every pocket on the shorts.

I normally wear XL. After reading the reviews, I risked only getting large. It fit great in the waist (love the broad elastic band) and thighs. Borderline too snug in the rear and set low in the back, so I had to make a point of pulling them up to cover my underwear. Since I usually wear low-hanging tops, I didn't consider this a big problem. I walked the dog in them and it was easy to bend over and pick up dog poop. Wore them on an hour nature hike, which includes stepping up high onto rocks, and the fabric willingly moved with me. So, they're a keeper and I'll be careful to avoid shrinkage when I wash them.

These rip-stop shorts are pretty nice. The quality seems great. They fit well and are comfortable. They're nice and lightweight. I would like them better if they had a higher waist. They're not super flattering on me, with my being a bit heavy in the hip and belly. But they're decent. Also the color "dark taupe" is odd. It's on the grayish-green side. Length is nice being an older woman, but like that I can shorten them if needed.

I love the shorts, but hate I have to iron them. The hem comes out of the dryer rolled up and when ironed the rolled crease is still there. I wish they were no iron and more care free.

These shorts are very comfy for general wear. The fabric is sturdy and they are well made. The fit is a bit looser than I expected, but that is fine. My only complaint would be that they wrinkled a lot around the hemline when washed.

I really like these. Thought they would be too short rolled to snap. But they are long even then, and look cute. I ordered Large size, but I'm swimming in 'em... hmmm, wish I had ordered Medium because now they are out of the color I want. If you like your shorts a little loose or baggy on, they do run big in your size. Pockets are deep enough, but Bean, be advised that some women like super deep pockets as in mens shorts...

I bought these in the smoky mauve color, and I chose XL because I wanted them to be a bit loose as I plan to use them for working in the yard and doing housework. I am a bit short but curvy, I usually wear a size 12 in jeans. I wanted them to be my go-to pair of comfortable summer shorts - and they are exactly that. I love the color, so pretty. The material is lightweight but does not feel flimsy. There is a bit of stretch but not too much. My only complaint is that I actually prefer them down rather than rolled up, so I might end up cutting out the piece that you use to snap the sides when rolled-up as the metal snap is cold against my leg and I don't like that. Since I prefer them rolled-down, I don't need the snap piece. Or I might figure out a way to cover the snap so the metal doesn't touch my leg. Overall very happy with these and might buy them in a smaller size to wear out of the house as they are so cute and comfortable. Would be great on a trip to the beach or camping or hiking. Love these shorts and hope they keep making them. They are the perfect comfy weekend shorts.
