I love these shorts and have several pairs. The only thing I would.change is to cover the back of the snap with the waist band lining material. The backside of the snap is sharp and it digs into my waist and is uncomfortable. Other than thst I am very happy with these shorts..

I ordered these shorts along with the Women's Comfort Trail shorts in a size 10. The Comfort Trail shorts fit great, however, the Trekking shorts were too large in the waist (although fit fine in the hips). The material was nice, however, I am returning for another pair of the Trail shorts. Also, the Trail shorts have an adjustment inside the waistband whereas the Trekking shorts do not.

Nice fit, great fabric, but pockets aren't big enough for my phone, which is a big minus for me. The phone actually goes in, but I worry about it falling out. Deeper pockets please ! And, how about some more interesting colors as well. Endless variations on black, navy, olive and khaki are boring. I'll keep the shorts, but won't order any more of them.

I got size XL. Nice shorts. Comfortable. Pricey, especially since there aren't pockets on the lower leg in front. I've had them for two or three washings so far and I think they will wear well.

I am very small, but I'm in my mid 60s so I don't like things too short on my legs, as gravity has taken its toll. These shorts are very comfortable and don't dig at the waist. I wore them on long walks on our recent trip to the beach in NC, and they'll be great on our summer hikes here in Ohio. They fit a bit big, but tucking in my shirt and wearing a webbing belt solves the problem. I wish they were a tiny bit less baggy in the legs, but I want them for hiking and walking, not to win a fashion contest.

I have a hourglass shape The room in the legs is flattering and the waist fits perfectly. I really like how quick dry they are. I work outside a lot and my only complaint is that they snag easily. I've had them two weeks and already there are four snags on the front. If there was another pair of shorts that fit this comfortably that was made of a more durable but comfortable fabric I'd return these in a hearbeat.

I'm between a 10 and a 12 so I ordered both. The 12 was too big; the 10 fit perfectly but I didn't like the way they looked on me (not flattering). The material is very thin, (thinner than my other quick-drying shorts). The legs looked too blousy and I would have preferred them a little shorter for my short legs. Would they be comfortable on hikes and while kayaking? ABSOLUTELY! I really wanted to love them, but because they are expensive (in my opinion) and I didn't love how they looked, I will be returning them.

I ordered the 8 which was a bit tight in the hips, esp if you want to keep a cell phone in the pocket. I exchanged for the 10 which is slightly loose in the waist but the hips are OK to accomodate phone.

I really liked the length and taylored fit of these shorts. Being an active senior I'm not as small around the middle as I used to be. I have a "fuller" waistline and there was no ability to adjust the waist. I tried two sizes in fact. A size 16, which was way too baggy for me and a size 14 which fit the rest of me nicely but when the waistband was closed it produced a major "Muffin top". Not the look I was after. :( I sent both sizes back.

Very nice, lightweight, comfortable fabric. They fit a little big on me, but I usually do wear a 10 in most shorts and should have gone with that size. If the side pockets were a little bigger to fit my cell phone, they would get 5 stars!

I purchased these specifically for a Safari to Africa. I would highly recommend!! Light, breathable, super easy to hand wash and they dry quickly. The only draw back is a they snag easy. but worth the trade off. Just don't do any bushwhacking. Have the shorts as well Like them all! Have already recommended them to my Sista;)

I purchased skorts from Bean in a similar fabric summer before last and really like them, so I decided to take a chance on these shorts when Bean recently had a weekend sale. The fabric is lightweight and has a little bit of stretch to it, and the granite color will look nice with almost any color tee or tank. I washed them in cold water and they line dried in a couple of hours. Love all of the pockets in these shorts! However, my cell phone has a thin case and does not fit in the side cargo pockets. Even though I can't zip the back pocket with my cell phone in it, my cell phone fits far enough in the back pocket to "stay" there. (Thus, my reason for not giving these shorts a 5 star rating.) Hope to get a lot of wear out of these shorts when warm weather arrives!

I'm happy with the fabric, the fit, and the color. I wish the pockets were deeper. There's not quite enough depth for my smartphone. It can fall out easily. Shallow pockets is my main complaint about women's clothing.

This short was thin at the leg opening. I was looking more for a Black regular summer short, thicker in material. But it is made well. I probably should of looked at the description better before I bought it.

Over the years I have purchased several of these shorts for camping, hiking, and all around comfy, summer use. They are usually well made and last a long time. That being said, the last few pair I've purchased seem to have a different zipper that is difficult to open and close. As a result, the front cargo pocket tore away from the material. That's the only reason for the four star rather than five star review.

I normally wear an 8 or a 10, but based on the sizing chart, I ordered a size 12 (my hips are 41"). I also ordered size 10 at the same time as the size 12. The size 10 shorts fit perfectly, but the size 12 shorts that were recommended by the sizing chart were too big.

I have these in every color. I am between the 10 and 12 size and have 2 pairs in 10 and 3 in 12. Both sizes fit me fine. They are very light weight, cool and comfortable. I love the pockets. The only thing that keeps me from giving them 5 stars is that the fabric pills easily, which is why I bought this 2nd pair in Khaki. I wish the fabric wore better.

I bought these shorts for my everyday long walks. I ordered a size 2 and 4 because of reviews that said they run large, and they do! I'm returning the size 4 for another 2. I like all the pockets. The only thing to make them better, for me, would be another inch or two in the length.

I love the royal plum color, which is an unusual color for shorts like this.

They were bunchy at the hips and too tight in the waist; I sent them back.

I wasn't sure if I would like the material, but was pleasantly surprised how great it feels--so soft and lightweight! Was between size 10 and 12, but kept the 10 and glad I did as the shorts do tend to stretch out a bit and stay that way. During this very humid/hot summer in NJ, these shorts have helped keep me cooler. Gave 4 stars because they do tend to pill (pocket area, etc) and can get material "pulls" if something rubs against them. Other wise, I did order 2 more pairs of shorts since the pulls and pills are not that noticeable unless you get close to the shorts. Also, like the snap closure instead of a button because I have some arthritis in my hands and easier to close.

These shorts are very comfortable and cool. I was in the LL Bean store in Brookfield WI looking for shorts when I overheard the sales clerk say to another customer that these shorts ran big. I took in a size 6 and 8 to the dressing room. The size 8, my usual size, was extremely large. I then tried on the 6. The waist was a bit large but fit my hips perfectly. I purchased the 6, They also dry very quickly so great for traveling,

I wear these for hiking, kayaking, amusement parks, getting things done. Very comfortable, dry quickly and look decent. The only reason that I am not giving them five stars is the pilling in the crotch area and butt. . Granted I am larger, but I have other shorts and pants that do not have this problem. For the cost of these I would expect them not to pill. Still I like them enough to buy again.

These shorts fit true to size and are mostly comfortable. They are very lightweight and cool for Summer. The only complaint I have is that the waistband rolls; maybe a wider band would help? Otherwise, they're great!
