I was hoping to fall in love with these sheets, but they disappointed on several fronts. First, the material felt cheap and slickalmost as though it were synthetic and not 100% cottoneven after being washed four times. The elastic on the fitted sheet was insubstantial compared to other sheet sets I own, and the sheet did not fit tautly on the mattress. Finally, I found the Lake color to be brighter than I had hoped; it reminded me of the color of hospital scrubs. I'll be returning this item.

Bought these based on wirecutter review. We've washed them approx 5x over a month, hoping they would soften and become more comfortable. They have not. Going to keep trying but don't have much hope. We would return them if an option. We're buying another set of sheets.

I bought these sheets in the store got them home, washed, dried, put on bed and I was pretty excited to get in and try them out. Unfortunately, they are really scratchy and slippery. The material is strange..kind of like a cloth shower curtain. I dont know, they were weird and I was sad. So they are now getting packaged up to send back. I gave them two stars because I was feeling merciful. Really - it was pretty much a one star experience :(

Sheets were great until the bottom sheet suddenly went threadbare on one side. Wife woke up this morning with a large hold in the sheet. Bought them literally 2 years ago. @LLBean worthy of a refund or don't bother?

I returned these these because they were not thick at all. I found a review for this sheet set saying they were thick and great quality. They felt fairly thin. Not what I was looking for.

Sheets are well made but I find them too slippery for me. Difficult to make the bed and keep the sheets straight . I returned them for a refund. Too bad, I like LL Bean

I have an LLBean cotton percale comforter with a botanical pattern that I was very happy with. I ordered these sheets for summer. Unfortunately the fabric feels different, as if it were coated with some type of plastic coating, it is slick, and it doesn't breathe at all. I had washed the sheets when I received them, but they still didn't feel like cotton, and I spent one very uncomfortable night with them. After washing them again to see if they felt differently (to my fingers) they still felt the same, slick and inorganic. I had to send them back. I have bought many flannel sheets from LLBean in the past and was always happy with them. This was the first time I was disappointed in their bedding.

My first and last set of percale sheets. These are rough and scratchy and have made me sweat more than sateen ever has. They do fit nicely on thick/deep mattresses. Will be returning.

After one and a half years, the fitted sheet wore through in the center and split. With regular washings on gentle cycle and gentle drying, these sheets should have lasted much longer than they did, especially given the price, and Bean's reputation for quality. I'm very disappointed.

These are not the hefty crisp percale sheets I used to get from LL Bean. Based on the static when I removed them from the dryer, I'm guessing they are NOT all cotton. And, there were no wrinkles! That's just not like cotton percale.

I bought these because Wirecutter consistently gives them the nod as the very best percale sheets you can buy! OMG, are you kidding?? What is the criteria? They're very thin and cheap feeling. I'm disappointed because they also were not cheap. Ugh. Now I have to re-assess Wirecutter reviews.

I was disappointed when the top sheet of this sheet set began to develop rips in less than three years, after using the sheets only during the six warmest months of the year. Aside from this notable weakness, the sheets were comfortable and washed well.

They're ok. I prefer thicker, hotel style sheets. I wouldn't buy them again. 2.5-3

I was expecting much thicker sheets for the price. They are not real heavy and probably could have paid half at a box store.

The only favorable thing I can say is that the silver sand color is beautiful. The sheets are flimsy and see through when held to the light. They drape and cling, which is not what quality percale should do. LL Bean celebrates that they are "supima" cotton with a 280 thread count. They don't acknowledge that threads making up the "count" are so thin that the fabric lacks density and body. The elastic is weak and narrow; it doesn't hold the bottom sheet securely. They are a huge disappointment and I am returning them.

These sheets lasted less than 2 years (alternated with a second set too). I loved them until they ripped!

I really wanted to love the sheets. But I just could not. They are soft, but quite thin. Also, they had an odor coming out of the package. It was sort of an oily smell. I washed them twice according to the washing instructions, but the odor was still there. I could not imagine sleeping on them and breathing that odor. I had to send them back.

I love that the top sheet stays smooth and the top Hemant sides don't pleat up like an accordion, but the bottom sheet doesn't fit tautly on the mattress. The sides hang down and the bottom sheet is wrinkled and loose. I don't have a think mattress either. Regular bottom sheets usually fit perfectly. I may have to just order fast sheets and mix them with my existing bottom sheets from another company. Luckily I can match them well in white.

Disappointing. I don't usually pay this much for my sheets but decided to splurge. I like cotton sheets that are crisp and have some substance to them, yet are soft to the touch. These are not soft- they're almost scratchy. I washed & dried them in advance of using, hoping that would make a difference but it didn't help. As I said, disappointing.

Sheets are nice but, there has been some staining on the pillow cases. We are not sure how these stains got there.

Unfortunately the stitching on the fitted sheet started coming apart after two washes. I either line dry or machine dry on low settings, so I am afraid these sheets were not as well made as the previous two sets I have ordered over the past few years. Very disappointing as they were not cheap to purchase and I have always trusted LL Bean's products.
