The Sunlit color of these sheets is beautiful but the feel is not what I've been searching for. The crisp, cool feel from my childhood is nowhere to be found. These say 100 percent cotton but they feel fuzzy, not smooth. I have quite a bit of lint in the dryer lint basket after drying. No big deal just not a great feel.

I researched reviews and recommendations for sheets before I bought these. They were rated 3rd best on the sites I checked. I didn't think they were any cooler as the reviews said. They weren't as expensive as the 2 rated better than these, but I found them pricey. I will do more research next time as I don't think they were worth the expense.

These sheets feel very good against the skin, which is why I'm happy enough to keep them. But the fitted sheet is baggy on my mattress (inconsistent sizing - I have another LLBean fitted sheet that fits well). That's my main complaint. A minor one is that these sheets also crease a bit more than I'd like straight out of the dryer. Not quite what I was hoping for, considering the price.

I have to ask, whatever happened to the "percale" of the past? These sheets are a bit big; good for flat, not so much for fitted. The fabric is nice, but I've only washed them three times so far and hope they continue to soften. Just a little bit 'scratchy' for lack of a better term, not a big deal. I have bought many cotton and 'percale' sheets in the past 15 years and none compare to the percale of the past. I just don't understand. These will work well for our hot and sticky summers. So only 3 stars.

I have had a coordinating duvet and shams for several months and like them very much.
These sheets, however, are coarser and heavier than expected for fabric described as "percale," and get coarser and heavier with each washing.
After having bought a great many LLBean items over the years, I'm sad that so many current items are not the quality I had come to expect.

I bought these sheets because the sunwashed percale didn't have the color. The sunwashed were much better. These sheets, while of good quality, feel more like sateen than percale. They don't have the crispness and texture of percale. So if you are looking for a true percale sheet, I don't think these do it.

A few years back I ordered the pima cotton sheet set. That set was made in Portugal. The new set, after washing, is not as smooth and seems stiffer. The label says this set was made in China. The Portugal-made sheets were superior. I will keep this set as I like the roomy size and color, but I don't think I would reorder this set again as I did before.

I am looking for beautiful Pima Cotton Percale that I grew up with. Had so hoped this set would be the answer, but sadly it isn't. I washed and dried the sheets before making the bed. They are very generously sized with extremely deep pockets. They have nice heavy weight and feel wonderful to the touch, but are scratchy to sleep on. After sleeping on them just two nights I will wash them again and hope multiple washings will make them softer.

These sheets are about 40% thinner than other percale sheets I have purchased from L L Bean. They will be fine in warmer weather, but they certainly weren't what I was expecting.

I read a lot of reviews when shopping for a new set of "better" sheets, and picked this LL Bean set, which I regret. After 4-5 washings, they still have a very stiff, plasticy feel to them. To us, these sheets feel like a paint or camping tarpulin. They fit well and were on the expensive side so I'll keep using them in hopes that they'll eventually soften up a little, but they are not soft at all, don't feel like cotton, and we joke that they might work better to cover the classic car in the garage. I would not put these on a kid's bed; they're that stiff and plasticy. They will one day be excellent paint tarps or furniture covers.

My review will start with 3*, as all reviews should. Starting at 5 is just obscene as that should be reserved for top quality products and not a product doing what it says it'll do. So the color was true to the images, pretty much exactly as expected. The fit of the sheet is appropriate on the mattress, without too much hanging off or creating wrinkles. The non-fitted sheet is decent and fits as expected.
+1 The material is very breathable which is amazing as I'm a hot sleeper. Joined with a breathable material comforter, the bed is summer read.
-1 The material will retain all moisture/oil from your head, causing almost immediate discoloration. This an eye sore and embarrassment, if you don't do laundry every 2-3 days. I shower and then get in bed, and within a day or two the pillow case was discolored from where I rested my head the night before.
-1 The material doesn't have a cotton feel at all. They feel more synthetic and can be quite slick when first out of the package.
With the price point of these sheets, it's a bit of a let down. I love the flannel sheets from L.L. Bean but these do not live up to the expectation.

I have tried several different brands of cotton percale sheets and these would rank highest in terms of comfort and feel. However, somehow, the pillowcases stain very easily from just regular oil from skin. Literally, after just a couple nights of use, they are noticeably darker where my skin makes contact with it. Washing it as directed helps, not doesn't fully remove the staining, and besides, It's not sustainable to wash my pillowcases after every use. I should mention, I do not have particularly oily skin, nor have I encountered this with any other brand.
After the fact, I searched reviews for "stain" and found quite a few other complaints. They mostly seem to refer to the darker colors, which mine is (dark green), so maybe this is less of an issue on lighter color options.
I contacted LL Bean about this issue and they simply said they have not received reports of staining and restated the washing instructions, which are very standard and not at all the issue here. No offer to send a replacement of a different color.
Very disappointing because I would really love these sheets if not for the pillowcases looking filthy even after being freshly washed.

I bought these in Sept 2022 and didn't use them in the winter months. The fitted sheet wore thin and tore in several places, I thought they were very nice, but they should last longer than this, especially at their price point,

Was really disappointed in these. The fitted sheet was super loose and didn't fit our mattress at all. They seemed nice otherwise but we couldn't even use them cause the sheet would bunch up everywhere which was super uncomfortable

Feels thin and feels cheap. They barely fit the bed. Made in Pakistan. Way too expensive.
Very disappointed.

I found the sheets, particularly the "Fitted sheet" to have little definition of the ends. The flat and fitted are a little larger than stated size.

When the pillow cases are laid flat to iron the seam at opening is an inch in from the edge of the case. The flat sheet does not fold neatly either. I have been using these sheets for decades am very disappointed in the current quality.

We really liked how these sheets feel but unfortunately they did not last. After two years and a half of use the flat sheet and the box sheet have ripped. We have another brand of sheets that has lasted 5+ years.

We've had these sheets for about 18 months, in a rotation with 2 other sets. The sheets feel very comfortable and cool to the touch. They dry quickly when sweating.
However, after only 18 months they have torn. We have several other sets that were much cheaper from Target that have lasted much longer. For the price of these I would have expected a stronger/thicker fabric.

I bought a queen set of these sheets in 2021 and after 4 years of use (alternating with one other sheet set), there is a giant hole in the fitted sheet. Not pleased.

At first, I was impressed by the texture of the sheets, but found that they did not fit my recently purchased queen size mattress. The fitted sheet is baggy and doesn't cling to the mattress. The elastic feels stretched out. I am losing confidence in NYT wirecutter's recommendations . These are the most expensive sheets I've ever purchased and I wish I could return them.

This was a letdown. This is not the quality of L.L. Bean that I remember from years ago. There's almost no elasticity to the fitted sheet. I have a queen size premium mattress, but the fitted sheet does not fit well and does not hold its position. The advertisement was that three washes would deliver the expected degree of softness. I've washed these five times and they're still very stiff. Would not recommend.

These sheets wrinkle very easily. After several washings, they are still rough to the touch and the pillow cases are now a different color from the sheets! Not what I expected from LLBean.

My husband and I loved these sheets but after only two years the cotton has worn really thin and has caused ripping in several parts of the top sheet as well as the fitted. For the price point, we thought and hoped they would last a bit longer. Its unfortunate as we really loved these but now have to replace with something that may be better quality.
