Sheets are well made, fit great but are a little scratchy, most notably the pillow cases. I expected softer and smoother. Put a thumbs down whether I would recommend or not because its required for the review. Will see if they soften with use before I decide whether to buy again or not.

I bought this set of sheets as Consumer Reports rated them very high. For my bed, the standard sheets were noticeably too big.

I bought these sheets because of good reviews on line. They were pricier than others of the same description but the reviews said it was worth it. I disagree. The sheets are scratchy even after several washes. The pillow cases are not large enough to fit comfortably over the pillows. The reviews said there would be longevity with these sheets but I can't speak to that yet. I will not buy these sheets again.

Sheets are very scratchy. I had to wash them three times until they were soft. I do like the fit on a thick mattress.

For this price point we were hoping for a fabulous percale sheet and we were disappointed. More slippery than soft.

I purchased these after many great reviews on external websites. I was holding off for years but just moved into a new house and thought might as well splurge. First thing i noticed after removing the sheets from the bag was the coolness and feeling of the sheets. They are not high thread count so i wasn't expecting sheer softness. I then went to put them in the washer and noticed a red hue on these white sheets, sort of like if i was wearing a red shirt that reflected back onto the sheets. I wasn't. After i washed the sheets by themself the red/pink tone remained. I have yet to sleep on the product and i am debating on sending back for the simple reason the white sheet is not white.

I always buy LL Bean sheets - my favorites were the pin tuck sun-washed percale sets - those were the best, but are no longer available. I ordered these expecting them to be the same but they are different. Okay feeling but more of a rough slippery feel (if that makes sense) instead of the crisp cotton I'm used to. The color is awesome and they launder well, not many wrinkles but the pillow cases already have some discolored spots on them (have washed them only twice) even though I followed the washing instructions. Not sure what is causing that. I don't think I would order this particular set again - I miss the sun-washed percale. For the price I was expecting more from LL Bean.

The sheets are good, not great, but compared to other sets I have bought, they are relative expensive even though I got them on sale. So value is low. I will need some king sheets in the next few months and these will not be on my list.

I have mixed feelings on these sheets. I bought them thinking I was getting percale, as I have received prior from LL Bean. That is not the case. These are more like silk sheets - very slippery. They slide out of the mattress tuck and the quilt slips off. If these were the first sheets I had ordered from LLBean, I would think they were all like this, but not the case. Also, they are shorter and much wider than prior orders. Very strange. I'm hoping that after a few washings they might lose this slippery finish. Sad. I was counting on LLBean for consistency.

280-Thread-Count Pima Cotton Percale Sheet Set, Windowpane and one set of solid color. They are both shredding. I love the sheets otherwise, but I need a replacement for these two. Can I send them back for two new pair of sheets?

I own 3 sets of these sheets, and I have always loved them.
But...I ordered a pair of pillowcases to replace the original set, and...they're not the same. The ivory color is different, and instead of the crisp, cool percale I've always loved, they now feel more like....a sateen cotton/poly mix.
My sister recently bought a set upon my recommendation, and they too are different.
Very disappointing.

The color I ordered is called Sunlight, and that is very accurate. They are not a bright color, as in vivid or neon yellow, but they are not light, as in pale or lemony yellow either. They are not at all orangey or golden, nor are they in any way creamy /ivory / beige-y. They are an absolutely true yellow, and are a pretty color. Unfortunately, we wanted a more golden tone, to go with our comforter, and I didn't even open the package. It is still sealed, as it came from the shipper. Therefore, I can't comment about their softness or smoothness, which I assume would be fine, as are other sheets that I ordered from LLBean a the same time, with the same fabric content.

I expected soft comfortable sheets but they feel stiff and make a sound like plastic when touching them. I have to keep them because I already washed them, but I hope they get softer after more washes. If not I will try a different set of sheets.

This was the only basic percale sheet I could find on the site. I assume it feels soft because it is pima. My preference is for crispy sheets so I am not a big fan. They don't feel especially luscious even for soft sheets. Have loved previous Bean percale purchases.

Expected these to be much softer. After laundering several times the sheets are OK, but the pillowcases are still like sandpaper. That might be because face has more sensitive skin. I repeatedly washed pillowcases in effort to get them to soften but they are still scratchy. I now use pillowcases from my old LLB set and have set these aside.
Wonder if LLB would let me switch these scratchy pillowcases for ones from a different, softer set?
On the plus side: sheets fit the bed well, do not wrinkle as much as some other 100% cotton sheets and are a mid weight fabric. But would never buy again since the pillowcases irritate my skin. Disappointed that only way I can use this set is to substitute older pillowcases .

This was my second set of sheets from LL Bean with the first set ordered 2 years ago. After washing and making the bed, I noticed that the top sheet was hanging much farther down the sides than any sheet I've ever owned. There was not much sheet length to tuck in the end of the bed. Compared the top sheet to the other set and found the width was approx. 4 inches greater and the length was approx. 5 inches shorter. The material was also thinner than the other set. Will be returning.

I purchased two sets about seven years ago. They were my favorite sheets. Crisp, cool, perfect. The fitted sheet on one set got very thin and started tearing. I tried to use the warranty but was told due to excessive wear and tear, I could not exchange them. I have had other sheets much longer than seven years and they have not fallen apart like this fitted sheet has done. Considering the price of them, I thought they would last longer. I was planning on getting another set but, I don't think they are worth the high cost.

These are the most comfortable sheets that I've ever slept on, but the fitted sheet tore after less than two years. I'm not one of those people that washes their sheets weekly, and they were always washed on cold. Considering I got 5+ years out of the cheap set of sheets I had before these it seems that this failure was premature.

I bought these because they were highly rated by Consumer Reports. Like the quality and fit but far too coarse for my skin. Washed them 1/2 dozen times to get them softer to no avail .may be ok for most but I need soft for my skin.

I purchased these sheets because of the excellent review they received from Consumer Reports. Perhaps that set my expectations too high because I am a bit disappointed. They are fine sheets for the price but nothing I would single out as better than similar products. They have only been washed once so I may have a different opinion after a few more washings. In my experience sheets are at their best after being laundered several times. I chose the color "lake" which is a beautiful medium-blue shade and they fit my mattress (non-pillow top) well with room to spare. I recommend this product because of the Consumer Reports review. I expect that even though these sheets are thinner and not as soft as I hoped for they will demonstrate other important qualities such as less shrinkage and superior durability.

A friend bought these for me as a gift after my raving about a set I bought two years ago. These are not as crisp as the previous percale and the fitted sheet is huge! They are good -- but, if you like the feeling of smooth, crisp, old fashioned percale, these aren't for you.

This is my third set of these sheets, the earlier ones having been bought in December 2016 and fall 2017. This most recent pair is much thinner in weight and does not feel as nice on the skin. It is still a fine set of sheets with a similar fit on the mattress as the others, but I worry about the wear. The other sheets don't show any wear after two years but this pair seems like it will pill quickly.

These sheets started to fray and rip within 6 months of using them. Unfortunately, they did not live up to what we expect from LL Bean.

Love how the fitted sheet marks short and long side. The sheets are scratchy, even after washing. Hope that improves with more washings.

Sheets seem fine overall but are a little bit too rough, especially on the face. We started using a different, softer pillowcase.
