I was looking for a great outdoor blanket that was waterproof and made with quality. I came across this blanket and decided this was the blanket for us. It was on back order so I had to wait a few weeks to get it. Once we got it we took it to the park for a test drive. The blanket is good sized and very soft. The ground was wet with dew but we the blanket stayed nice and dry. The only drawback is the waterproof side tends to slide around a bit on the grass...no traction to grip the ground. Other than that, this is a great blanket for picnics and such.

This blanket is a great product and works very well as a picnic/outdoor concert blanket, but I was just dissapointed to find out that it was not Made In America.

Used blanket at outdoor concert, worked great, ground was cold and damp, did not feel any of it, top was soft and warm. Only problem is blanket cannot help old backs after a 3 hour concert, take a back support with you.

We bought this blanket for use at outdoor sporting events. It's great to block the wind or the rain when sitting or standing outside. The only drawback is the small nylon bag it comes in, too hard to get folded to fit back in. We use the elastic strap it came with to keep it contained.

I've been wanting a blanket like this for a while, to throw down onto the wet grass at soccer practice, or lay out at a damp picnic site. Love the blanket, and the stuff sack.

Handy for the kids' soccer games, etc. because it is more portable than a folding chair and more practical than a regular blanket or towel because of the waterproof fabric on the reverse side. Comes with a stuff sack and is easy to keep in the back of the car.

Wanted something to throw over my car seats after kayaking. The fleece side is comfortable and absorbs while the bottom layer prevents the salty water from soaking through and damaging my car upholstery.

Have never regretted any LL Bean purchase and this one is no different. Item is exactly as described and performs as expected.

The blanket was purchased specifically for an outdoor event that was canceled due to rain. While the weatherproof bottom has yet to be tested, the blanket is getting good use on the passenger side, particularly during late-night trips. It it large enough to give full body coverage and is soft and warm. The stuff sack is a nice bonus. As mentioned in previous reviews, it does have the crinkle sound but is not a problem. Next summer it will be used for both camping and picnicking. Definitely recommend it as an car or outdoor blanket.

The blanket is very warm for its weight. The waterproof lining helps keep wind away if using outside. The main issue is the lining is very loud. Got it last week and took camping this weekend. Tried to use it as a blanket at night and had to remove it due to noise when moving, it woke me up. If noises aren't an issue to you the blanket is great.

I loved the color, size, and carrying bag.
The blanket smelled musty/ mildewy. I thought maybe it had been stored in an unheated and/or uncooled place.
I washed and dried three times according to directions. It still smelled. I love Bean and I hate giving up!
I laundered a fourth time with a cup of vinegar. It seems to have taken care of the foul odor.
Looking forward to using this spring and summer.

We have owned the plaid pet throw that was offered by LLBean for years...the BEST !!! Now we wanted a second one only to find out it is not offered anymore. I purchased this one thinking it would be close...NOT. It's very light and " noisy ". I wanted it to throw over my couch so our Golden could watch out the window. It does keep the hair off but always looks a mess. BRING BACK THE PLAID THROW !!!!!!!

No strap for carrying by hand or on shoulder. Comes rolled in stuff sack - not so convenient as a flat form when space is tight in the car..
Blanket may be hard to shake debris and dog hair out of..
Otherwise a nice product.

This does what it promises but it just doesn't work for me. It slides with movement and works only on a flat, horizontal, rough surface. (Forget using it in the car.) If you don't have a thermarest or a footprint in your tent, it should work. If your dog camps with you or sits next to you on the grassy hill to watch the game, however, it holds hair like a magnet. I'll put grommets in it or give it to someone with inadequate camping equipment and no canine fellow campers.

The "Deep Forest" is closer to black than the picture on the web page. If you think that you're getting a shade of green, you may want to consider changing you mind and going with one of the shades of blue (such as navy).
By itself, or against items such as a white T-shirt or a Dark Indigo River Driver Shirt to my eyes it is black.
Otherwise, a good size. Maybe a little thin on the fleece.

The blanket itself was fine--we have ordered them in the past and been pleased with them---but they changed the regular storage bag to the tiniest little pouch that is absolutely impossible to use. You can't get the blanket in there unless you work at it for 30 minutes and then when you remove the blanket, it's all wrinkled and crumpled. The old storage bag was perfect---why did they change it???!

I've been buying LL Bean products for 20+ years, and this is the first time I've been seriously disappointed in anything I purchased. Usually, you pay more but the quality warrants the cost. In this case, the blanket is too thin to provide much warmth, the nylon backing is simply too crinkly and noisy, and I feel the overall quality doesn't warrant the cost. I read the other reviews about the noise and honestly didn't think it would bother me...I was wrong. I could overlook the noise if the blanket was thicker, but it is very thin as well. Given my history with LL Bean, I really expected better. The product reminds me of the cheap fleece blankets you see in the discount bins at Wally World (as far as thickness) sewn to the cheapest tarp you could find (as far as noise and thickness of tarp). Admittedly, it is far better looking than either. If you just want something with a softer top than a tarp to sit on at an outdoor concert, this will work for you, but I wouldn't expect it to provide much warmth. It would be a bargain at half the cost, but I expected more for the price. Purchased 2 with gift certificates, so I'm not returning.

This product definitely deserves a mixed review. On the one hand, it is fairly well made, particularly the end seams, and the fleece side of the blanket is soft and comfortable. HOWEVER, as other reviews have pointed out the nylon side is annoyingly crinkly. Moreover, that side moves around "separately" from the fleece side. What the manufacturer should have done is sew rows of individual seams to secure the two sides (probably would've reduced the crinkly issue, too). And while we're suggesting manufacturing changes, it would've been great if, like other brand outdoor blankets, this blanket could be folded up into it's own carrying bag. (If not that, at least include some sort of shoulder sling for the stuff bag; otherwise, who's got the extra hand to carry the darn thing along with lawn chairs, coolers, etc.?)

Initially received wrong item. Promptly exchanged. The All Weather Outdoors blanket is quite noisy. As a ground cloth it should be fine, but my wife will not let me put it on the bed because of the noise it makes.

I purchased this blanket for my son to take to high school football games to put on the bleachers to help keep him dry, warm, and provide a little padding. This blanket is extremely thin and would not have provided any padding or warmth. On the particular blanket that I received, the seam was not completed to the end and there was about 1/4 inch of the blanket that was not hemmed. I expected a lot more from LL Bean. I returned it.
