Should provide good protection from the sun. Light weight too.

I ordered the hat in a Large dusk blue (love the color) because I don't like hats that are too tight on my head. However, after wearing it once, it stretched out and was too big. I washed it but it did not shrink. Also, it is very floppy and the brim flips up in the slightest breeze. So I am returning it. Pros: large brim, great color, lightweight. Cons: floppy, brim flips up.

I love LLBean, and almost nothing would keep me from buying more products from them. But I wanted to let other prospective purchasers about this hat. I bought it to shade my head and face from the sun. It looks nice and the material and fit is very comfortable. BUT: the brim needs more reinforcement. If there is even the slightest hint of a breeze, the brim lifts up, and suddenly I look like a character from Hee-Haw. And its shading qualities are gone with the wind. Oh well. Maybe the next version will be better.

Kind of a sloppy, floppy hat. I ordered a small and they sent a medium that was too big. Not worth the price. Not recommended.

The brim is too big. Well be returning it. The material seemed great, however.

Fits great. I got the medium size. Material feels nice. Unfortunately, it doesn't keep the bugs away at all. They've even landed on the under side of the brim right in front of my face.

The hat fits, but it is very floppy in the wind, and the brim thus does not protect well unless there is no wind.

There is no structure to this hat. It seems to have it in the picture, but it does not. The brim flops and not in any good way. The hat does not sit up at all either. Might be similar to putting a napkin on your head.
