Boonie fits very well and material appears to be of very good quality. Only problem is the rim has no supports so it blows up in the wind thus lowering protection from the sun.

I needed a serious sun hat so I went ahead and purchased this one since it is treated. While I like the hat as it is nice, fits well and light weight for summer time I was a little disappointed that it arrived very wrinkled and you cannot iron or steam due to the coating. Therefore I will be wearing a wrinkled hat :(

I got this as a gift for my Dad for Fathers Day.
He overall likes the hat. Pros; Comfortable, good fit, keeps the sun off his neck and out of his eyes. Cons; Gets hot after a while, wishes it was a little more breathable.
No good feed back regarding the bugs as the mosquitoes are out in force this year and nothing seems to stop them.

I like the fact that this light weight, wide brim hat keeps the sun as well as the flying insects off and out of my face. Having the drawstring is helpful on breezy days. I was initially concerned that whatever chemicals were woven into the fabric might irritate the skin, thankfully it does not...nor is there any odor.
For me it has been a worthy, and functional investment !

Lightweight and comfortable. The brim is wavy and the front wave is off-center. Since I wear it so far just for gardening and exploring, I don't mind.

This hat fits well & looks good. It would be good for all outdoor work or activities. As I am in the garden a lot I noticed it keeps most of the bugs away but not all, there are still a few small flies around, otherwise a very good hat.

I bought this for a trip to Alaska, and it was perfect for traveling. I have trouble finding hats that fit with various hair styles, but this fit pretty well. I bought it for the UV protection, and was grateful for that as well as for the chin strap which kept it on my head when I was on the river. It was also great for keeping out the light when napping on the plane.

Needed a hat to wear to protect face from sun while kayaking and sailing. Wanted a hat with straps so wind would not take away. Works best when both sides of cap snapped up - strengthens brim so that wind does not flap around. Measured my head and bought medium though I think it runs a bit large.

A good hat that fits well and has a wide brim. However, the brim is soft and even in a moderate breeze it has a tendency to fold up in front, so that it does not shade the face very much.

I generally order Large size hats and due to the reviews that said this ran small I did the same. I could have done with the medium this time. It is a big flat hat. The material is pretty much the same as the hoodies which makes it quite thin for a hat. The brim seems quite wide, too. This is not what I would consider a boonie, more of a sombrero type. It's okay but not great. However, like the hoodies it does seem to repel bugs, so it will get some use. I hope the No Fly Zone expands the line to include some different style hats.

I have to admit that I was skeptical regarding the capability of this hat to repel flying insects, but I was willing to try anything. Insects are so prolific this year that a simple walk with my dog around the neighborhood is an ordeal rather than a pleasure, unless you apply a lot of bug spray, which I detest! As such, a hat that would replace the bug spray seemed like a wonderful idea. And I now say that the hat really works, for the most part. The insects still fly around the brim, but don't attack my eyes, ears and nose, as they have in the past. The one disadvantage is that it tends to trap the heat on my head, but I'm willing to make that sacrifice in order to avoid the use of bug spray. I would definitely recommend this hat!

This is a nice hat, provided you can get it to fit. I wanted it to work, since I purchased it to go with an insect head net. I have always worn a size Large, but measured my head anyways since a reviewer said these ran small. Based on the sizing chart, and also that I have many hats of all types, all in size Large, this should have fit. But it was way too small. If it came in an XL, I would exchange it. Will be returning the item.

I need a hat for sun protection when I mow or an in the sun for extended periods. This hat is very lightweight. There are snaps to roll up the sides although I never use this feature. I have a small head so if I pull this hat down to fit closely over my head (for when we are boating/windy), it falls at my ear and just feels strange. I wish hats came in petite sizes! Otherwise I recommend.

the hat is fine in quality but the Large isn't large enough to put on my head (21 1/4"). I would recommend WITH Reservations.

Good fit, good color, nice style. My only complaint is that the wind will knock the brim around. I wish this was firmer in the brim.

Fit was good but the brim was very big so I returned it.

The form and function is good, however, the fit is not. The size of the hat is closer to an XL than a L, which makes it too large for my needs.

I would be a nice hat if the brim were firm. It is very floppy.

I believe others have mentioned the lack of structure in this hat and I would concur. On a recent trip to Connecticut and Rhode Island, I forgot this hat and found one a bit cheaper with more structure that I like better. Otherwise, it keeps the sun off my easily burned head.

The advantage of this hat is that is is lightweight and has the snaps on the side for the brim. The disadvantage is that the brim is little too floppy. A slightly stiffer brim would be nice and make the hat look better overall.

The No-Fly Zone Boonie hat is very light weight, would probably pack well for travel, fits well. However, if there's a nice breeze, the brim doesn't stay in place. It flips up, which is quite annoying.

A very lightweight, flimsy, floppy hat for the price. I thought the material would be thicker for more form fitting on the head. Hopefully the hat does protect from the Sun.

I didn't really like this hat, because the brim flops up in the lightest breeze. I like the military style boonie cap much better. Also think the 1 and a half inch brim is too wide, 1 inch much better.

Sizing is inconsistent. The small size "khaki" hat I ordered this year is larger and looser fitting on my 21" head than the small "olive" hat I bought last year that fit perfectly. I like the large brim for sun-protection and the chin strap for windy day walks with my dog. I wish there was an elastic cord inside to make the hat adjustable.

Looks OK, fit not bad. Difficult to keep on head without very tight cinching of chin strap in the wind. Wide brim acts like a sail! Good job of keeping sun off while gardening. Very light so not too hot.
