Wide-brimmed; folds up nicely--which also means it's floppy in a breeze. But as a general sun-hat, its perfect.

People complained that it's floppy in the wind; well, it's a bug hat more than a sun hat, and if it's windy the bugs aren't so bad and you might not even need it. I like the light weight, which is nice for warm weather. I've worn it gardening and it kept the stupid bugsgnats, mosquitoesfrom buzzing around my face. It's a keeper.

I own many hats, to include sun hats. I really enjoy this hat, extremely lightweight. One of my favorites.

Size is perfect. Good quality. Great protection for doing yard work.

I ordered this hat for a spring flyfishing float trip. It worked out fine. One side snaps up out of the way of my flyrod, the wide brim keeps sun off my neck, and the string holds hat on in the wind. Most of all, it helps keep the bugs away! Win! Win! Win! Win!

This hat is well made and light weight. I don't know yet how well it will repel flies, as they aren't out yet.

I wore this hat in the Valley of Fire. Light, packable, and effective. I haven't tested for gnats yet but I had no issue in the desert.

This hat is awesome. Lightweight, stays on, keeps mosquitoes away, protects from the sun, what more could you ask for? My husband and I each wore one our entire trip to Hawaii and while other tourists lost hats in the constant breeze, we were all set.

It's a great hat to wear in a year where the mosquitos are the worst ever! What ever is the ingredient used, it seems to be very good at repelling mosquitos.

The hat is lightweight and very comfortable to wear. It fits as expected. It is nice that the sides can be pinned up. It seems to help keep various bugs away from my face and keeps any netting from resting against my face.

The material is lightweight and strong for this hat! My son wears it in the sun whether it be for the beach, golfing, walking or just relaxing.

Was a gift for my son who lives in Alaska. He does a lot of hiking and loved the hat! I have seen many posts on Facebook of his adventures in the Alaskan Mountains with him wearing the hat this summer.

This is the second one I purchased. It is a replacement, that lasted about 20 years. LL Bean has great products... :)

I usually hate wearing hats, but knew I would need something when hiking in Utah. It provided wonderful shade for my eyes and was lightweight and comfortable even at 115F. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a lightweight hat for hot weather.

This hat is truly lightweight and it is easy to forget that you are wearing a hat, simply because it is so light. However, it effectively blocks the sun with its wide brim and it rapidly wicks-away any perspiration when I am gardening. An excellent product, in every way!

We live in Kansas, where hot, hotter, hottest summers are the rule, and outdoor work can be draining. I bought the hat for my husband, who spends time in the sun tending the yard, planting the flowers, watering, etc. He immediately noticed an uptick in his comfort level and is very happy with his new head gear.

best garden hat yet. it is great on this hot weather, light weight and keeps face shaded and cool.

Very happy with this purchase for style, color (dusty olive) brim width, adjustable draw cord, snaps UV protection and insect repellent fabric. I am a female with a smaller head so I selected a size medium. It actually fits pretty snuggly so I would say the sizes run small. All in all, this product is worth the money and delivers what it promises.

Purchased the hat as a gift for my brother, who does a lot of work in his flower and vegetable gardens. He is very happy with it - especially the insect-repelling properties it has. Thanks for a great product!

I wore this to the Boundary Waters and it was super comfy, breathable, and stayed on my head nicely. I liked how flexible it was so I could easily pack it. Very happy with it!
