Excellent hat for my week long canoe trip. Stayed put on my head and was super comfortable. Kept the sun off of me while on the river. Helped to keep me cool. Also kept the bugs away from my face and head when I wore it on the islands in the evening. Even the chin strap was comfortable. It's the first time I've bought this style of hat and I would highly recommend it to anyone on the river or in the woods.

I bought this No fly zone Boonie hat And just got it August 1st wore it outside and it was worth every penny i paid for it It t keep the bugs away and shaded my face from the sun it was windy and it stayed on my head without using the chin strap .next time i will get a large but that was my fault .

My husband and I are avid outdoor adventurers who are conscientious about too much sun exposure. This lightweight hat keeps the sun off my face and neck without adding bulk to our packing or being too heavy to wear in hot weather. It's exactly what I was looking for.

Love this hat . If in between sizes I would order a size up. but its lightweight and great for any outside adventure

When I go for walks and see gnats in front of me they just disperse. Great buy !

I have purchased two of these hats. I live in an area that has many mosquitoes and black flies. Although I had purchased my husband a no-fly zone baseball cap, he always took my hat. He said it not only kept the flying insects away it shaded his face from the sun, so...I ended up buying myself another hat. I wear it when I am going for my walk, or just puttering among my plants. It is a great hat. I would recommend it to anyone who is outside and bothered by flying insects. I love my hat...

Tha No Fly Zone Boonie Hat fits perfectly and stays on well even without the tie, but I'm glad I can secure it when I'm kayaking on a breezy day. And when I'm working in my garden and the bugs start buzzing I put on my hat and they simply go away. I haven't used bug repellent since I got it. It's a good hat in both sun and rain, and on the lake or on the trail.

The hat fits perfectly and I like the color and feel. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, I did not have the opportunity to test it on one of my fishing trips. I am looking forward to the day when I can.

I've been used to wearing a straw hat to shade hair and eyes but it's been heavy and sweaty and does nothing to keep insects away from my face. I ordered a large No Fly Zone Boonie Hat as I like to have my hair and scalp breathe a bit beneath a hat when I'm gardening or walking on the beach and I love, love, love this one. I thought the brim would be too wide and floppy - not so, it's just perfect. The main body of the hat is like wearing nothing at all!!! The strap is just perfect to keep the hat from blowing off in the wind on those kind of days. Not too heavy, not too flimsy, just right!

Looking forward to spring, summer and early fall when this hat will be a good protection from sun and from the flies in the early spring, flies that like to bite human scalp! I have a large head for a woman, 22.5 inches, and medium is a good fit. I like the ties to hold the hat on in wind... and on a no wind day I can put the ties to the back of the hat.. This hat is also packable.... no worry if it gets a bit squashed in the suitcase... it will come back to its right shape.

I wear this hat every morning as my Labrador and I hike through the woods and trails of the park. I bought the hat because I was so pleased with my NFZ shirts and was not disappointed. It shields me from the sun and discourages deer flies, mosquitoes and horse flies. It is also required attire when kayaking.

I bought this hat for my son and boyfriend. They love the hat. Until my son pointed it out, I didn't realize it had buckles so you can change the shape of the hat. It also has a chin strap in case it's windy. The material it's made out of seems to be very durable! My boyfriend feared even a large would be too small but it fits just right and very comfortably. And, he said it seems to keep the flies away! My boyfriend, in turn, bought one for his father for fathers day. Overall, this is a good buy.

this is an excellent hat, lightweight so you don't feel weighed down, drawstring cinch to keep it from flying off in the wind or to hang down your back when not needed and the brim protects your face. would definitely recommend.

Wore the hat at the beach and walking in city heat it served me fine just would have preferred a more lively color

I've only worn the No Fly Zone Boonie Hat once, but this much I can say: It gives a lot of sun protection with its wide brim, it is insanely lightweight (that's a positive!), and it collapses into a COMPLETELY flat shape, so it's very packable. I ordered it for a hiking trip abroad, so its packability is a definite plus for me. Being so lightweight means it will be comfortable on long hikes.

Purchased this hat in the beginning of the summer and have worn it on several occasions in Wisconsin, Michigan and Florida. The bug repellent seems to work as expected and the light weight material makes for a breathable hat. Also, whether it was a down pour or a dunk in the water, the hat stayed snug on my head and dried off in no time. I really like the color blue they have for the hat; not a typical blue one would see. Overall, excellent hat and highly recommended!

Great hat! We bought this one because LLBean no longer carries a similar hat that had a 'curtain' to protect the neck. We prefer the other hat, but this one is decent, too.

Very light. It is a little floppy if you soak it in water. You could easily squash it and fit it in a small volume in your backpack.

Accurate sizing, I have a small head and a S/M fits well. The brim is floppy so it flies away at the slightest breeze. Color is great and the inner headband is fabulous.

Brim is a little too floppy; it gets blown around a lot, even with a mild breeze. Otherwise, nice hat.

Works pretty well in most situations. If you're in back country with no wind, warm, the Black Flies and Mosquitoes will bother you.

Very light weight, probably good in hot humid weather. Not my preferred type of hat
