I purchased 9 W (EE) Camp Mocs to replace a different brand of boat shoes, size 9 (M). As you can see from the photo, the L.L. Bean 9 W (EE) Camp Mocs are much narrower throughout the entire shoe. I like the color and style, but the shoes are not true to size. Had to pay to return them.

Size runs large. I wear a size 9. In this shoe, I was able to fit two fingers behind my heal. Exchanged for an 8 1/2 - still too large. Returned for refund.

Ordered a size 13 in September for my husband (same size as LL Bean moccasin slippers that he already had). They didn't show up until end of January. Right out of the box they looked very long and narrow. Husband tried them on and there was 1 inch of space behind his heel. He could not take a step without his heel slipping out of this shoe. He liked the color and style but the strange sizing made them impossible for him to wear. Sadly, I had to return these shoes for a refund (minus fee to ship them back.)

I have been wearing these moccasins for 50 years. Quality is somewhat the same . Fit is another story. Width of the heel is probably half an inch wider than before. I'll make them work but disappointed.

Shoes are loose around the back causing feet to move around in shoe, but tight up front making it uncomfortable for top of foot and toes. I tried using better insoles to raise my feet above the uncomfortable ridge but that made the front of the shoes worse and caused more foot slide. I really wanted to like these but they're just so uncomfortable, I have walked miles in them at this point and it doesn't seem like they've broken in at all.

This is the, at least 3rd pair, of shoes I purchased for my husband. With every new purchase, the quality has gone down. This purchase today was the worst. The fit is terrible. Too wide, the color is off the quality is sub-standard--not the same shoe. When I want to return them, I have to pay in excess of $6.50 for shipping. I can't simply exchange for a different size--even though I am not happy with them. This is totally unacceptable. So I will drive 20 miles to the nearest LLBean store to return them. This will be my LAST purchase. I have been a loyal customer for more than 20 years. LLBean, Boo to you! You have lost a loyal customer. Buyer beware! LLBean is not the quality store they used to be.

I've worn these for years. Very, very unhappy with the last pair I ordered. The "cactus" color is now much lighter in color. I saw the pic, called and asked, and was told it's just the pic online, they haven't changed. They've definitely changed. You've lost a longtime customer. Stop changing the classics!

So I've recently had two pairs of these; one pair, the lighter river rock with a white sole, I had picked up for myself; and the medium cactus with darker sole that had been given to me, both within a month of each other. I was originally planning to keep both, have one set for camping and the other for home, but there is a big difference between the two. The leather that comes with the river rock color is a thinner material, and conforms relatively quickly to your feet. A little oil and it ages the leather and keeps water from staining it. Additionally, the white sole is a softer rubber and very slip resistant and seems fairly durable. Overall, very comfortable to walk around in and I will absolutely hold on to these. Now for the cactus pair with darker sole. The leather is very thick, much heavier, and I imagine would actually hold up well over time if given the chance to be broken in. The downside is the sole. It feels like a hard plastic. It's very slippery on pretty much every surface imaginable and after only a couple of days wearing them around the house and walking around the block, large chunks have broken off the sole and it has cracked. Additionally, they were incredibly uncomfortable to walk in. I will definitely be returning these ones. I wish Bean's could offer the same sole from the river rock model with the other leathers.

Bought this moc 14 years ago and it lasted for twelve. Bought a new set two years ago and they fell apart in less than two.

As with the slip-ons and slides, the wide still will not fit my high-instep foot.

I love the shoe. I have bought this shoe or similar many times. I really, really don't like the light brown color. I will not buy again. I hope the it looks better with age.

The leather was not "buttery smooth" in fact it was hard. The right shoe fitted good but the left was all together wrong. Just made wrong from the sole to the toe. You need better QC on these.

These moccasins are not offered in a narrow enough size. A D width is WIDE. A EE width, is EXTRA WIDE. Where is a C width, which is NORMAL or B width which is NARROW ?.

I would give these a zero star if it was available. I ordered the same size I have worn for years. At least a size too large in the mouth, half size in the length and tight across the ball of my foot. Plus the leather was miserable exceedingly stiff. Bought another brand instead, in my normal size and they fit and are comfortable. The previous two editions of LLBean Camp Mocs were good. Wore out 4 pairs over the years. They lost the formula on these.

This would have been my 5th pair of camp-style mocs in the last 12-14 years. The first three were exceedingly comfortable and were made of buffalo? hide. 4th pair, made in Vietnam, not of buffalo hide, were acceptable for fit, but wore out (leather split at big toe) much faster than the first three, and the sole cushioning collapsed under my heel. This pair, my 5th, is made in El Salvador and is unwearable. It is tight on my toes, and extremely sloppy around the back portion of my foot and around my heel. When I compare the shape of the new shoe to my old ones, it is obvious the lasts changed drastically. My old shoes tilted in slightly at the heel. These are straight or tilt slightly outward and do not lock onto my heels as all the previous pairs did. Extremely disappointed with the changes in this product.

I have been a loyal customer of LL Bean since 1970. Their quality and service was excellent. Over the last 5-8 yrs, quality has deteriorated. I have been purchasing the Camp Moc's the same size, width and color over 10 years+. The sizing, quality and color have changed since made in El Salvador- no size fits, attempts to break in in the house have not worked to soften leather and help the fit. While the color labeli matches my request of 'dark brown', the actual shoe color is 'light brown'. After 2 attempts, I am giving up on the 'Camp Moc' . Adair Heath

We wore these shoes for years and you could adjust the leather strings so that the shoe would fit just right . Now the leather strings do not go all the way around the shoe. They stop at the back of the shoe and you can not adjust the fit of the shoe ! We ordered 3 different sizes of this shoe and none of them fit ! We are so disappointed !

I ordered Men's Camp Mocs size 8 1/2 W(EE) and was surprised at the poor fit for an LL Bean product. Length was closer to a size 8 rather size 8 1/2. The W(EE) width is much narrower than wide or medium widths for other shoe brands that I wear. See attached photo for comparison. On the right is a Clark's size 8 1/2 wide. On the left is a Highland Creek size 9M. In the middle is the LLBean Camp Moc size 8 1/2 W(EE). Note that it is significantly narrower than the two other shoes.

Returned a size 9.5 and exchanged for a 9.0. Have yet to receive the size 9.0 or been credited for the return but already charged for the size 9.0
