I have always purchased my Camp Mocs from LLBean and on this last order my normal size 10 D which I have ordered in the past are it would appear a much larger shoe sliding off of my feet with an ability to put a finger in the back of the shoe. LLBean was extremely thoughtful in sending me a 9&1/2 and this was far better regards the non-slip aspect but was much to uncomfortable with the front of the shoe now being to small (even if one os to provide time for a break-in period). Has the" Last" used in the making of the shoe changed that drastically or has my foot started to grow smaller?

I ordered my regular shoe size. The width was fine but they were longer than usual and kept sliding off my heel when I walked so I returned them. But the style and quality were great. This is the second pair of moccasins I've ordered from LL Bean that were to wrong size and had to be returned. I have loafers I bought from LL Bean that were the perfect size and fit. It seems like a good quality control of their moccasins is in order.

I first saw these shoes, in person, being sported by my grand uncle circa. summer of 1982. This style has become my favorite casual summer shoe, as well. Though, I do have some ambivalence about the current Bean model. Those who say these Camp Mocs are the same as those offered 20 to 30 years ago are just flat out wrong. The leather currently used is clearly inferior; much stiffer and easier to abrade - far less supple. There are better quality Camp Mocs out there; Camp Mocs that look and feel like the kind Bean used to sell - the issue is that they are about three times the cost of Bean's (those American workers are expensive). I have some of these other makes, but I also have the new Bean version as "beaters," to be worn when I don't care if they get soaking wet or scraped up. So, for me, these shoes are a value proposition. They're not the nicest, but for the money, they are adequate and comfortable.
I normally wear a 9.5 and find that a 9.5 fits a bit large so that the shoe sometimes slips off my heel (making them sometimes slap the bottom of my heel like flip flops), but I kinda' like them slightly large as my feet don't get too hot and air circulates. I don't wear these with socks and I immediately tossed the removable insoles and wear them without. From my perspective, with a size 9.5 foot, a size 9 is probably going to be the best and most secure fit.

I take a size 11.5 shoe. The 11.5 in the camp moc fell off my feet. After 2 returns, I have a 10.5 and am still not sure that I have the right size. The card in the box titled "hand sewn" says to expect a snug fit which will relax as the shoes are broken in. I want that, but haven't found it yet as the shoes seem to run larger than what expect. Great shoe, but sizing is problematic.

The quality of L.L. Bean's shoes seem to have gone down over the years. First thing I noticed is the shoe is very dark. This shoe use to be brown but now is a very dark brown. Secondly, I ordered medium width but medium at Bean is a very wide shoe. I've had to use inserts just so I could wear them. I bought a pair of loafers from L.L. Bean a coupld of years ago. The leather was so hard and cheap that they never broke in. I just threw them away. This is not the L.L.Bean of 30 years ago that I grew up with so buyer beware.

These are nice moccasins but unfortunately the 2E wide width was two narrow for my foot and I had to return them. They are a quality moccasin, just too narrow for my foot.

My husband has purchased this same shoe in a size 12 for
many years. When they arrived this order they were entirely different and we're too large, the quality of the leather was not the same as before, seemed of lesser quality. We even checked the number inside the shoe thinking we might have ordered the wrong shoe. We returned the shoes and was disappointed in the change.

I bought a pair of these about ten years ago and I liked them so much that I bought another pair, same size, and same color so that I could have a pair at home and a pair at my lake house.

Have purchased several pair over the years. Would have kept these except the color has ben changed to a real dark brown, almost black . This color is even darker than your pics in the catalog and not even close to the current pair I have and previous ones.

I usually wear a 10.5E in sneakers and 9.5E-10E in dress shoes. I ended up ordering six pairs of camp mocs to I found a pair that fit me well.
Here are the sizes that I tried:
10.5 EE - Absolutely humongous in both length and width.
10 EE - Still way too big.
9.5 EE - Still way too big.
9.5 D - Fits well, slightly snug. I went with these, but I'm a little concerned that they'll get lose as I break them in.
9 EE - Good length, but very loose. Fits ok with socks.
9 D - Fits, but very snug. Might be ok if I broke them in, but I felt like my wide feet were hanging out over the soles of the shoes.
I'm sticking with size 9.5D. Unfortunately, the left shoe has a large patch of thread in the back heel. It looks like someone went over the heel several times while sewing, leaving a big, scratchy bundle of thread. I'm tired of sending shoes back, so I'll probably just cover it with some non-slip padding or some moleskin.

I had to return my purchase because of size. I have a very high instep and need very wide shoes to fit me comfortably. The widest the Mocs come inn is EE. A wider shoe(EEE or 4E )is greatly needed.

I am very disappointed that, in light of the very good reviews from other buyers, my impression of this shoe is not good. I ordered a size 12D but the shoes feels loose on my feet. But the bigger issue is admittedly pretty subjective. My feet are big and these shoes just shout that out to me. I otherwise wear loafers with leather "aprons" over the top of the shoe to break up that long deck of an aircraft carrier. Sensitive about that.
I'll have to return these.

I ordered my normal size and while the arch and heel fit properly, the toe was about an inch too long.

Shoe looks good and is well made but the indicated size 9 is at least a half size larger. Design does not let you adjust tightness with the laces; making getting a good fit chancy. Returned it for different style.

I've purchased a number of shoes, slippers and sneakers over the years from LLBean. My size is always the same (10in length and standard width) except this time the shoes were too long. I noticed that the manufacturer was different than in the past, so I called to check if other customers had the same difficulty, and was told no but I could get the same shoe in a shorter length. I decided against this because I wasn't sure of the size and did not want to pay any additional return fee.

I am a fan of Blucher moccasins and have owned many pairs over the years. The camp moc, on the other hand, tends to run larger and is more difficult to break in. After a try, I'm sticking with the Bluchers.

I wear a size 10 in almost every shoe including the Bean blucher so I reordered these camp mocs in 10 as well and they were way too big. Not only was the length and width too big, but so was the height. While the description said they'd be tight and conform over time, mine were way too loose all the way around so I sent them back for a 9.5 which was still too loose across the top of my feet. I put an insole in them and now the fit is just OK. I got the dark brown and the leather is terribly stiff even after a couple of weeks wear.
You can get camp mocs made like Bean did back in the good old days, but at three times the price of these, I couldn't justify it for knock around shoes and stuck with these. It would be nice if they did a special edition w/ better leather, the old camp/wedge soles and made in Maine again!

I wear a 10 in my other shoes....ordered a 9 in this since the mocs have been running large. Had to send it back for an 8.5. Hope that fits as they are beautiful shoes.

This was a present for my son and he usually wears a size 10 shoe.
This shoe, maybe it was the style, ran a little too large compared to
his other shoes.

I bought them for my DH birthday and as many reviews said they were big so I ordered a half size smaller and they were still too large.
So I sent them back!

So very large as some of the reviews have stated. An excellent shoe, top quality materials, they were much too big even before breaking in. had to return them.

I had to order three pairs of these before we got the sizing right, even after a call to customer service. My son wears a 10.5 in Nike shoes and his sizing with these was a 9. He is happy with the shoes now that they are right, but it was costly and time consuming to order from Maine to the west coast.

Very nice looking shoe, but the sizing seems weird -- running a tad big as my heel would slip out a bit. I thought it would probably loosen up a bit as I wore it so I just returned it. Other than that I would have kept it.
