This jacket kept me warm with weather like -50 degrees celcius. I am 5'11 and 145lbs and i bought size medium and it fits perfectly! long enough and the sleeves are also long enough! (rare thing for me!) The only problem is the zipper, not the best to be honnest, but who buys a winter down coat for the zipper? I recommand this jacket to everyone who will do intensive activity outside (Too warm!) and to everyone in the city! Its Chic and nice + warm!

I looked for a long time before deciding to buy the Patera. I have now had it for about two months and it has quickly become the best winter coat I have ever owned. Seriously, my love of this coat is verging on unhealthy! I love how light it is and how warm it keeps me during freezing NYC weather. I also really like the fact that the puffy part of this coat is hidden inside, keeping the exterior looking a little bit sleeker and nicer. And the Gore-Tex is great too in wet weather. I don't think I've worn another coat since this one arrived in the mail. Over Christmas, I traveled north of the Arctic Circle in Sweden to the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjarvi. I wore this coat the entire time I was there and actually found it to be warmer than the warm outfits you could borrow from the hotel. I think if it's warm enough to wear near the top of the world in the dead of winter, it is a wonderful option for anyone who deals with real winter on a daily basis wherever they live.

I cannot say enough about this fantastic coat. I live in Northwestern Ontario where we have already seen -30+ this winter and I have continued to go for my evening walks with this jacket and some good layering. It is toasty warm, has enough room for layering underneath and fantastic features such as a huge hood (for any size hat!), tall neck area (goes up past my nose for added wind protection), double zip. Best of all it doesnt make me look like a huge snowman, I have received lots of compliments on how nice it looks despite being a parka. I think the important thing to remember is layering under any winter coat. With the right layers I am confident this jacket will get me through the even chillier days to come. I also am a huge fan of Arcteryx and the quality product I always get from this company. If you're on the fence I say go for it! well worth the investment. For size reference I am 5'4, 130 lbs and bought a medium. Its a bit big but has room for layers and still looks shapely and flattering.

Living in New England can be brutal during the winter. I get so cold that it physically hurts me to the bone. After doing a lot of research I decided on the patera parka an this coat is amazing!!! We recently experienced a polar vortex for about a week with temperatures in the low teens and single digits with some serious winds that made it seem below 0 at night. This is the first jacket that actually kept me warm. It was just the other parts of my body that the jacket didn't cover that made me aware of the cold. Some people complain about the zipper but that's what you get with a jacket that incorporates gortex into the design. I have cleared my car of snow using the arms and the jacket stayed dry. I am so in love with this coat, I am ready for winter!!! The fit is perfect. I am 5'5" about 160, athletic build. I got a large so that it would also fit my big sweaters that I wear during the winter and it is perfect. I love the long overlapping sleeve that completely secure your gloves in. And the empire waist clasps really make it very flattering. The insulated pockets are wonderful and the synthetic nylon that lines the coat is so soft, almost like silk.

I LOVE this jacket. It is extremely warm but also incredibly light. Most really warm jackets are super bulky, but this jacket is light as a feather and it's waterproof! This coat also fits really nicely and has a cute shape. It's great for around the city in cold weather if you are waiting for the bus, watching a sports game, or anything that requires you to be standing around outside. For walking to and from work - I found it a bit too warm (but that's a Vancouver winter!). I recently moved to Minneapolis, MN and I think this jacket is going to save my life!

This is an extremely high quality and gorgeous product. Unlike the previous reviewer, I don't think the arms are not warm enough (and this is coming from someone who is ALWAYS cold). I am 5'4/115, got the parka in XS and it fits perfectly. The cut is very flattering, slimming, and it hits right above my knees. I get compliments on it all the time.

It feels so squishy and cozy, like getting a hug from woolly mammoth but without the awful stench of sweat and muskeg. I just wish it came in turquoise.

It's warm for the weight, true to size, and elegant, yet sporty looking. Blocks the wind and sheds the rain very well. Perfect for cold and wet days. It could be a bit shorter.

I bought this coat two or so years ago. I've LOVED it! It's warm enough for most days in Michigan's winters, and it's not overly bulky in appearance. I've worn this coat EVERYWHERE. My coat is pretty well worn out, so I ordered another. I just received it, and I'm disappointed. It has the Arcteryx logo prominently plastered on the hood. Because of that prominent logo, this coat is only good for very casual wear. I would never wear a logoed coat to a dressy occasion. This edition is not the coat I've loved. Get rid of the prominent logo!

I'm really happy with this parka. Coverage on the upper leg makes a big difference in balancing out the warmth provided by the coat, and the zip can be opened from the bottom, which allows me to use the parka in active situations. Feels great to be comfortable outside for long periods. I've had several people remark on how nice the coat looks.

It is gorgeous, comfortable, and windproof. Hasn't gotten cold enough in Madison to see if it will pass that test, but I am hopeful. Love the color! I initially bought size S but it was too tight in the chest. I was worried size M would be huge through the hips but it is great.

This jacket is light weight. Slim cut all around. I am 5’ tall and I got an XS in black and it does not have too much room for layering. But it looks sleek and nice. It fits longer than my other winter parkas. Good coverage to keep the body warm. However not sure why the shell attracts lints before I start wearing it.

I bought the Patera Parka online a few weeks ago since the store did not carry XXS. I especially like the dark hazelnut color. It was very warm when I tried it on indoor. I did not try it outdoor as even with XXS, it was too long, fall below the knee, and too wide in general for me. Im 51 and 95 lbs. Even though it was light and had a comfortable feel, I returned it. I hope Arcteryx will come out with a size for the parka that fits petite women. I like it a lot but it doesnt fit.

I bought this coat yesterday in store and was assured that it would be warm enough but sadly after wearing it for 1 day I wish I had purchased something else. In order to stay marginally warm in 17degree Fahrenheit weather I had to layer a cashmere sweater and a wool hoodie to get through the day. I'll need to add a technical layer daily plus a sweater (2 sweaters is insanely bulky) and I still wont be super warm. Even with the layers today I could feel the cold. This is not a proper parka for below freezing temps. Seems great for fall and very early spring but not for Jan, Feb and March. I would have spent a bit more to get a proper parka from this brand and been cozy but now I'm going to have to layer way too much and not be comfortable. Even more frustrating that I took the time to go to the store and ask questions etc. Also, the zipper is glitchy and it's been 1 day. This is a great brand so I am surprised.

I've had this coat for nearly two years and it is so warm and comfortable. I don't need to wear a sweater under it when the temperature is above 30. The coat is so light which is surprising considering the outer goretex layer. It is just a tad long on me (I'm 5'3") but others have told me that it doesn't look too long.

I love Arcteryx but having worn a Centrale for many many years this parka was disappointing. It is not as warm as the Centrale and longer--falling below the knee. The length for a 5'3 person was not a good look:)! I returned the parka and continue to wear my old Centrale that has a malfunctioning zipper. All that being said the fit is to size.

This jacket has been better than I expected. It is form fitting, but not restrictive. Doesnt look bulky, and a really nice length. Im 54 and the length is just above my knees. Its also been very warm with minimal layers underneath which I love!

Wonderful coat. Very attractive shape, kind of clean cut and trim. Very warm. And yes it is waterproof. My only issue with it is that it is under-pocketed like everything for women. The men's version has an exterior pocket, this one doesn't. It would be 10 out of 5 stars if it had: external zip pocket AND large sling pockets inside the coat for something like a hat.

This is the best parka ever. It is very warm, yet the weight is light. The surface is GORE TEX which will definitely protect me from rain and snow in New England. The new color, Boxcar, is outstanding in winter when black outwear dominates. All the specifications of this parka are amazing. You will never regret.

Purchased Patera Parka in 2022, overall the coat is light weight, petite size has the perfect sleeves and coat length and waterproof, however the tiny snap buttons are of poor quality, and inadequate for coat of this calibre, as they easily 'pop open'. These tiny snap buttons are suited for tops such as blouses, shirts, etc, not for a winter GORE-TEX down coat.
