This is likely the warmest jacket I have ever owned. Love that it's not as bulky as other competitor brands of jackets. It's thinner and lighter but does not lack in warmth! I did have to size up, my chest size is in between sizes, but the fitting was so nice it looked perfect!

The jacket has met all expectations and truly appreciated.

10 stars for this massive hood with slight bill. The coat is very stylish and flattering. This is definitely a city persons coat... very slick. It will definitely keep me dry and seems reasonably warm, though I'll need to layer for sure. Only change I'd ask for on it are more pockets. IMO, all winter coats should have an interior AND exterior chest zip pockets, along with low interior mesh or sling pockets for something like a hat. True to size.

This is the only jacket I've ever bought two of! I'm a little sad about all the negative reviews because I hope arcteryx keeps making this jacket forever! I bought my first on about 7ish years ago when I moved to montreal and it was the PERFECT parka for the cold winters there. I bought my second one about a year ago when I moved back to Vancouver and it's a bit overkill but it's so stylish and it keeps me cozy and dry. My first parka was a size M and my second one was a S and I think they fit about the same so I would try it on before buying. I love the fit of this coat! I'm tall (5'8") with a long torso and it has a fitted look in the waist and it's long enough to keep my bottom half warm. I also had problems with the zipper on my first coat but Arcteryx was AMAZING about replacing it (they even patched up a hole I had in the lining that my puppy created). Idk if their policy around zippers has changed recently. Overall I love this coat so so much!

I work Up North and I travel a lot, airports, airplane...This parka is very warm when needed, but super light at the same time. I LOVE it !

It was -5 today but felt like -11 and I can comfortably say that my upper body did not feel the cold at all in this jacket! Now I just need to find the equivalent of this in boots to keep my legs warm.

My wife loves the Patera Parka. It's great weather coverage - rain, sleet or just cold and she's set. It works well in dressy situations as well as casual errands.

Delighted with the warmth and wind protection the Patera Parks provides. The only challenge I have found with this garment is that the snaps are so tiny it is almost impossible to feel them if your fingers are cold so they are very hard to close. An internal pocket for small stuff would be helpful. Very sleek, Not especially designed for sports-like activity.

I bought this for my daughter in law as she gets very cold. She is 5'1" and loves this coat. It is just below her knee and keeps her lovely and warm and is super smart and elegant.

just wish it was available in more colors, such as deep green or sand.

Purchased this for my girlfriend who fell in love with it after two of our friends got them. So warm, so stylish and well thought out.

I know it's a little pricey, but the Patera is one of those no regrets purchases. It's stylish, lightweight, and warm in the coldest weather. I live in northern New England and this parka has been a game-changer and makes being outside enjoyable. If you tend to get cold easily, this is the perfect parka for you.

I will jump right in...I needed a warm (down) coat that would withstand sudden weather changes (moisture from rain or snow). I also desired a good fit with a "pretty" color. By design, this coat is made to be warm in colder temps but not fridgid temps. However, with the new cut/fit in loosening up the waist, I can now layer for those bitter cold days. I am an xtra small and as stated, the waist of last year and years prior, was too fitted to allow layering. This limited the coat's function. When I had tried going up in size to a small, I looked like a little kid wearing my big sister's coat. Too big everywhere!!! I am petite at 5'1". 97 lbs. Now, with the new cut, the coat is truly functional for any variety of cold conditions. AND the color choice available for warm-toned skin makes my heart sing! (Wavelength) I have porcelain skin but I am an exception in that I also have warm-toned skin which has yellow undertones. (Most porcelain skin is cool toned with pink undertones.) Arteryx doesn't seem to offer much of a choice for paler warm-toned skin...in any of their products. The color choices are usually for cool-toned skin or darker warm-toned skin tones. Please consider including more colors for warm-toned skin. All races have either cool, warm or neutral (combination) skin tones. And when we wear colors that compliment our skin tone, we look vibrant and more beautiful. It's that simple. The color Wavelength, is so perfect for my coloring, I have received numerous flattering compliments. In addition, as the coat fits perfectly and can handle layering, it is a clear winner. You hit this one out of the park, Arcteryx!!! Thankyou.

I have it for two years, and I'm looking out to the cold days so I can wear it. It's a comfortable and warm jacket. Wearable for outdoor activities, but it's also a nice and beautiful jacket for casual wear.

This is an amazing parka. It is so well designed and made. It is perfect for winter wear both for outside fun and for causal dress. I totally love it. It fits perfect as well. I bought a small and that was totally the right size. I usually wear a size 4.

I love this coat. This is my new favourite coat. I wore it all winter. It's warm and waterproof - just what I need in Vancouver. The length is perfect. It is a little pricy but it's going to last for a long time so just amortize the cost. It's worth it!!!

I purchased this coat in mid-winter. We live in the Pacific Northwest and this jacket is perfect for our weather. I think it could also be good with layers in colder climates but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. It was a bit snug so I sized up from my usual medium and it fits perfectly. I love the color and how nice and dry I stay in the rain. It was expensive but definitely worth it!

This coat is fantastic for the colder or cold and damp days of winter when my plain down jacket won't cut it. It also dresses up easily for the office. I get a lot of compliments on it.

My husband bought me this coat for Christmas. I love this coat, it keeps you warm, its comfortable, and looks great! I have searched for a good coat like this to be outside when I am walking my dog ( who loves the snow) and one that is a great fit and actually keeps you warm. This coat makes me want to go outside in the winter :) Buy it you will love it! I bought a small, however it was a little too big, so sent it back for a S/P and was perfect. And no problem with the return :)

I was procrastinating for ages due to the hefty price tag, however, when I finally bought my Patera, I realised it was the best winter coat I ever owned; warm, light, waterproof, super-practical and stylish too. Best Buy ever!

If you are looking for a coat that keeps you warm and feeling lightweight, this is it! Absolutely love the look and feel of the jacket. I usually order a large, but had to get a size down. The customer service is amazing! They helped me out a lot!

Love this jacket, it's light with great length and fits perfectly for walking and cycling. Super cosy and with the hood up is completely windproof. I've wanted a jacket like this for years. Long, warm, waterproof & stylish

I'm a senior living in north central Alberta who goes for a daily walk. This coat is the perfect outerwear for this activity. It's well designed for our winters combining warmth, lightness, generous sizing to accommodate layers with that wonderful Gore-Tex weather proof fabric. Gore-Tex is amazingly durable. So happy I invested in this coat.
