Great shoe! Highly recommend! Not sure why this shoe has three stars, but I took the gamble and got them anyway. I have no regrets. Very comfortable and you feel stable when wearing them.

Sizing was spot on. I am usually a 9.5 in Altra's occasionally have gone up or down a half size. No issues with the tongue. Easy to slide foot into. I tried the size 10 on and knew the 9.5 was a better fit, the 10 was just too sloppy. The brown color with teal is growing on me. I purchased the Hoka Anacapa Mid with the Tan color way that makes a lot more sense (color wise) they were way narrow compared to the Altra's hard to wear a non foot shaped shoe anymore! This will make a great light hiker everyday wear shoe!

Hiking, casual Running, hanging out, takin your boo out for a good time. Whatever I love these shoes I do not understand all the fussy reviews. Your really going to complain and rate the shoe one star because of the color? The Colors rule. Idk about durability yet though. Only had it for a month.

No issues with quality after 20 miles. Tighter than the low version but to be expected with the additional waterproofing material. Still plenty of room for my foot. My heel locked in without any trouble. Very comfortable and breathable enough in 70ish degree weather.

I bought these a week before trekking 80 miles on the rugged Tour du Mont Blanc. It felt crazy to rely on these being so new for that hike but I had shoe problems and took the chance after a few test hikes in the Ozarks. They have been incredible. Good ankle support on top of the enhanced Olympus, which have been an outstanding performer for me. Rocky trails, boulders, steep ascent ms and descents couldn't be more pleased. They felt true to size for me.

Since I saw these from a video at the OR event, I got super excited and I've been waiting for them to drop. Got them in today and I was ECSTATIC-this is the exact boot I've been waiting for from Altra so I didn't have to buy boots from Hoka (I refuse to wear anything that's not zero-drop or foot-shaped). Positive: -The cushioning is nice for when my plantar fascitis flares up and I can't wear my Lone Peak Hikers or Lone Peaks -The tongue sits super well on the tops of my feet and is nicely padded -Love the top two traditional boot locking eyelets -The Vibram sole adds a great amount of grip much like the previous Olympus models. I even got a little scramble in with them and they worked great -To quote a friend of mine, "They're pretty" Negative: -They're listed as the original width, but they feel more like the standard fit-maybe cause they're GTX? I'm not sure, time will tell if I just need to break them in a little, but that'd be odd for Altra. -Being a GTX boot, they don't breathe particularly well in the 90-degree weather in the Colorado desert, but that was to be expected. Other than that, great start after the first few miles. I'm excited to see how they wear.

I love the fit and feel of these hikers. My only complaint is that the tread has become unattached rather quickly and I've had to cut pieces off of both shoes to avoid tripping. Seems to last 1 year.

This is the second pair I have had. This pair was bought on warranty credit. Unfortunately same problem. Glue holding tread is defective. Only lasted one week! Love everything else.

An amazing shoe, but an all black option would be amazing. EMS and police wear cushioned sports shoes more heavy leather than boots anymore. Altra is loosing out on a HUGE market by not having an all black option (no, it does not need to be leather), especially since competitors provide that version.

This is a great shoe. I would love to get a pair to wear at work but my job requires all black shoes. An all black version would be great!

Love the wide toe box. I have wide feet and they could be a little wider. More wide options would be greater

I like the sneaker for the foot shape, nice brown color combo, and solid feel around the ankle and with the stepping. The padding around the ankle is thick and comfortable. These are good for wet and cool weather. The bounce along with the cushion this sneaker brings, gives me confidence when stepping over rough terrain. My only complaint is Altra should offer a wider size for my extra wide feet.

Was looking for a versatile and functional hiking shoe that still looked stylish and this fit the build. It fits like a glove and provides a good about of internal padding. The vibram soles provide great traction and grip. It truly feels like a sneaker but performs like a boot. It's a little on the heavier side but excessive and once broken in, it feels very comfortable to wear even on hours long hikes.

Very nice and rugged sneaker that is well-made and I enjoy putting on to walk outside especially to go on hiking trails. I will definitely recommend this brand and model to my friends and relatives.

I reviewed size 11, was little tight in the length, Width was great. Great comfort and traction. This is my first pair of Altra but definitely will not be my last. Would highly recommend.

These may be the most stylish and functional shoes I have ever owned. I love everything about them, they also fit extremely true to size which helps people when hiking you want to make sure you have a snug fit. I have already broken them in and the vibram soles truly grip better than many pairs of shoes I own. I highly recommend these for actually both trail/outdoors and every day outdoor shoes

I only have about 20 miles on it but so far so good. (I have the black, which maybe is more durable than the brown that seems to be falling apart for people.) I am really disappointed by how small these run, though. I normally wear a women's 8.5, but between how narrow the women's version runs and the horrible colors in it, I decided to try a men's 7. It's too small (both too short and a smidge too narrow) but because there's no 7.5 I am kind of stuck with it. Did some very steep up and down backpacking with them two weeks ago, and the toenails on my big toes definitely were sore but (so far) haven't seemed bruised enough to turn purple.

Altras are awesome. This pair of boots though, have a design flaw. The grommets for the laces at the ankle rub through. Not enough padding. I've had to tape across the rub points.

Looking for a replacement for the tusher and can't figure why make a brown shoe with a teal bottom? Not sure who is deciding on the color schemes but it isn't working.

The outer materials seem a lot more durable than other Altras and they have lasted longer than all the Altras i've ever owned (i've probably been in 20 pairs). But, the waterproofing started failing after only a few months. This year, now that the weather has been wetter, i've pulled these back out. My first shallow puddle crossing and they are soaked inside. So, while they don't start peeling as fast as most Altras, the waterproofing is rendered useless very quickly.

The four times I have worn this shoe felt amazing. Water proof for those rainy days walking to the office, keeps your feet dry and warm. Comfy sometimes can feel like walking or air and barely to not at all feel the rocks beneath your feet when hiking. These are the only shoes that didn't make my feet feel like they were in a vice. BUT, all the times I wore them hiking I used hiking rated socks at different levels or cushion with a liner sock AND without and received blisters on both achilles/heels, on paved paths and on hiking trails. Results of which cost me a hike up Mt Elbert. If I wear zero Cushing socks, running sock, I get absolutely no blisters. Cannot tell if this issue because my shoes are too small or too large. I want to really love and rely on these shoes. Just hate these blisters.

I really liked the way this boot felt when I first put it on. The cushion, the toe box size, it all seemed perfect. Howbwer im finding a few massive flaws that need attention for the updated next version - the tongue attachment to the shoe is a big problem. Spiky, itchy, pointy bits of something stab through my sock regularly. Additionally, when tightened down for hiking, the outside angle pieces really bite into my ankle area causing pressure and pain. These boots are incapable of hikes and hard use due to these massive design flaws. However if you can play around with the tongue, re-tie the laces a few times and not overtighten the top, they work for around town use. If I had not gotten them for about half off on a closeout sale I'd be in altras mailbox every day until they were swapped out. As it is I bought a closeout item and I'll have to deal with it. I truly think this could be the best boot they make if they can just fix the tongue attachment and ankle areas.
