These shoes were comfortable right out of the box. With my flat feet, the large toebox gives me such comfort in the room. While I don't run anymore, I walk 3 to 4 miles, 3 to 4 times a week. This is my fourth pair of Altras and I won't ever wear anything else.

After using a few of the Altra shoes, for me the Torin 6 has an excellent balance of cushioning, flexibility in the sole and overall feel of the road. I think this shoe is amazing. After trying out the Torin 7, escalate racer and Via Olympus, I went to a local running shop looking for help and they agreed with much of the comments around the harder sole and lack of flex and suggested another pair of the Torin 6. ALTRA will you keep making this shoe for those it works better for?

Altra shoes are great. I even use the Torin 6 as a house shoe.

I love the fit and feel. Cushy but zero drop. I use them for walking shoes / going around town.

I have worn on average a men's us 12 for 20 years, this is my 4th pair of Altras and need at least a 12.5 and mabey a13. That being said I've never been happier with the comfort and fit that I get from altra. So far I've purchased a timp 3 times 2. Lone peak5. And torin6 which may be my favorite

My local running store had these on discounts and decided to buy them. They are really well cushioned for street running, thoroughly impressed with my first 2 runs. They feel more like a running shoe compared to escalante 3 and more cushion than escalante road runners. Feels true to size, surprised everyone says too narrow. I have wide feet and they do push a little on the sides but it's about as close as I would like to get so if you have really wide feet I could see them being narrow but it's a perfect fit for me.
Some people said tongue slipped around but I didn't find that to be the case. I do a heel lock so maybe you should try to learn to tie them like that.
The Bad:
1.The tip of the tongue slightly pressed into ankle a few times but nothing too bothering.
2. The shoe laces are way too long! I hate when they do this.
3. May run a half size small, I ordered an 11 instead of 10.5 but been wearing bear foot shoes and foot may be getting bigger.
4. Where a little stiff for first run, I only did 2 miles because they wherent worn in. Second run was better and I feel them loosening up.
Overall I'm super happy with these, we'll see if they stand the test of time! I hope they hold up

I have not taken good care of my feet as an adult and now any other shoe leaves me in tears. This is my 3rd pair of Altras and 2nd pair of Torin 6's. They're so supportive and comfortable.

I have been wearing torins since the 3. I really liked the 4.5, and was iffy about the 5 due to the upper/tongue and slightly sloppy feel. The 6's upper feels more comfy and locked in than the 5, I think this is due to the cushy heel counter which fits me like a sock. The midsole also feels lighter and bouncier than the 4.5, similar to the 5 which I prefer, but if you prefer the firmer ride and liked the 4.5, Id recommend the new Olympus.

These were purchased in wide to accommodate a toe separator from a podiatrist. They are ideal for corrective therapy, very comfortable and a good exercise shoe.

The wide Torin 6 finally feels like Altra has returned to the original concept. So many of their models have become too narrow. I wish there was a Wide option for each shoe.

Love my Olympus Trails and the wide toe box. I needed a road shoe and loved the look of the Torin 6. Reviews deterred me. Finally got them and they are steller and fit wide like I need. Awesome Shoe

I ran through a handful of Torin 4s in my time and held onto them since I heard so many negative things about the Torin 5. I skipped that generation, but am now back on the Torin 6. Just hit 150km on my first set and ordered another set immediately to have in the bag when I wear the first ones out. The ride is great, is a good balanced shoe and feels good to run fast in. I alternate this and the Brooks Ghost on my runs and it makes me happy when I get to run in these over the Brooks. Keep up the good work!!!!

Love the Torin 6. Super comfortable and true to size. I always wear a size 11 in altra's and these are no different. I only returned bc I thought I would like the white and I didn't care for the look of them.

These are great all purpose road runners and make good walkers too. Altra is starting to get stylish as well. The toe box is perfect and I like the dialed in mid foot. It's more shoe like vs the 5 that felt like a slipper. Currently my rotation is Torin long days, Provision for daily mid distance, and Vanish T's for fast days.

This shoe makes me aware of how my feet are hitting the ground when running. I think my stride is more midffoot. I love the wide toe box. My only problem with the shoe is the laces are flat, thin and prone to get loose. I tie a double knot which helps.

Review for the WIDE version. As the years have gone by Altra has been leaning more toward a "traditional" fit (narrow) shoe, which is tough for us wide shoe fans. The Torin wides fit the bill when it comes to a shoe that truly gives your feet room to spread out. As an Ultra Runner I'm more concerned with my shoe having sufficient size and comfort for the long haul than I am nimbly bimbly responsive feel, and the Torins fit that bill. They are not only my go-to long-distance training shoe, but were also good for a 20-mile long run straight out of the box. If you have any foot issues from your current shoes, I'd give the Torins a try and let your feet spread out and do what they were intended to do.

I really love that these shoes are zero drop. Almost all other shoes place your heels higher up than your toes, which I think causes our bodies to lean forward, giving us poor posture.

Before this shoe I wore New Balance, Brooks, Reebok, Saucony, and a bunch of other really good running specific shoes. BUT, my achilles began hurting about a year ago so I took time off and started back up, then the issue came back worsening after months of rest. Tried to run a half marathon and in pro shoes, hurt my Achilles 7 miles in and had to drop out in my December race. Since then I purchased these shoes and began running 40-60 miles a week and working in these shoes. At first 2 weeks I alternated days and now it's my daily trainer. My Achilles soreness and pain is almost completely gone and I recently and almost accidentally ran a very easy half marathon in 1:18.
I think my Achilles needed the stretch these shoes "zero drop" provides. Based on my experiences and realizations, conventional 10mm heel to toe drop shoes forced me on my toes and loaded my gastrocnemius and overtime made both my gastrocnemius and achilles shorter (tight).
I'm 35 and currently run a about 40 miles a week on average and usually can lace up and run an all out mile in 4:40, 15:50 5k and 1:10 half marathon.
Nearly no achilles issues. Pain level is about 1-10 and that's after a speed workout 5:30-40 mile pace.

I'm only talking about the wide version as a perfect fit.
That makes the rest of the colors useless. I'd like to see black and darker colors on the bottom (not underneath).
Via Olympus is also an excellent choice. I would like to see darker color on the bottom.

Let me tell you, I am.was, an OnCloud girlie, but I am forever changed!!! I love these so much I would recommend them to my worst enemy. They're amazing. I'm not a runner, but I'm a nurse so I'm on my feet for twelve plus hours a day and even by the time I get home it still feels like I am walking on a cloud. They're amazing!!! Do your feet a favor and buy them.

These are the only shoes I've had that still want to wear after running 10 miles. The cushioning is just the right bit bouncy. The standard width feels almost as wide as the original fit on my LP6s but the volume is MUCH less in the mid and front. I have too much space in my LP6s and the Torin6 is a lot tighter across the top of the foot and toes. My normal size was unbearable so sized up a half size and it was great.
I didn't notice the tongue bothering me until after 30 miles or so (with no-show socks) and only on my larger right foot. It was a little annoying but totally fine wearing quarter socks. I tie my shoes really loose so the tongue usually droops to the outside and then it's totally fine.
I have to admit that I like these better than my LP6s which I never thought I'd say.

I wear a mens 8-8.5 but this shoe feels great in a M9.5. Don't understand why I'm up a whole size. I'm 35 so it's not like my foot is growing. BUT I am thoroughly enjoying this shoe.
