I love this shoe for the tread and the gortex. It's the little details like a place to tuck the pull string once tighten I love. Keep up the great work.

Still new, comfortable, stable and waterproof. The tongue moves around a lot.

Having had two pairs of the standard fit I finally realised that, while excellent in many ways, they were too narrow for my high arched feet. I ended up with foot pain. This wide fitting is so much better. They are not very much wider but much more comfortable for me. The only problem is I hate the colour and there is only one choice.

I am very pleased with this show. I find however that this particular model is looser on the bridge of the foot. The material seems to bunch.

I walked a hilly trail mixed with steep pavement. My foot is wide at the toes but narrow at the heal. My prior hiking shoes had been Keens and the toe box was too restrictive. I love the sense that my toes were not being rubbed and there is no pressure on my big toenail. I love the easy-on easy-off aspect of the laces, since I will be wearing them every day. I am a little concerned that the "cleats" will be rubbed off when I walk on pavement. My other concern is that the foot bed is too flexible because one of my big toe joints is fused. They don't seem as cushioned as my Keen's were. Can't judge durability.

I have walked in them twice now without injury or sores. They are not wide across the toes. There are no laces. The pull cord to tighten them restricts how much the shoe can open so it is a struggle to get the foot in. The same cord dangles once tightened. I don't get where I'm supposed to lodge it as there is no space between shoe and foot anywhere. But they are comfortable with two pair of socks, so far. They seem to be pretty supportive too and have made the walks easier and faster, so that is good. The price was scary, but when I see the prices charged for trainers, I suppose it isn't that bad. I would recommend Salomon reconsider what a wide shoe is and make a last with more room across the foot. But so far I am glad I bought them but I doubt they will last 10 years which my previous pairs have.

I purchased online, having owned quite a few pairs of Salomon runners in the past I thought I knew what I was getting. I was a little concerned that they fit a smidgeon bigger and the interior fabric seemed very 'slippy' so that socks may not let my feet stay in place in the shoe. But I laced up and went on a long walk and had zero issues. Same comfort I'm used to. Added bonus, I wore these in a massive downpour and my feet stayed 100% dry. Overall quite happy, one star off because it seems like every time I buy a Salomon shoe I have to get a different size than last time apparently anything from a 6-7.5 in the past. I probably won't buy their shoes online anymore but they still may be my first try if I am shopping in person and can try them on. But this particular shoe seems pretty good.

I have tried lots and lots of different shoes for hiking. These shoes are keepers. They are comfortable and have great traction. I've hiked about 30 miles in them and not once has my feet hurt. They get a 4-star because they do run large. I wear an 8 and these are 7 1/2. I originally ordered 8s but they were to big.

I bought these replacement shoes after my Sense Rides wore away quite quickly around the heel. I am very heavy footed (for a relatively small person).
I wore them for a few weeks for general walking and a few practice hikes prior to setting off on the Pennine Way on 4th May.
17 days later and whilst looking a little bit worse for wear - wear well they did.
I've had trouble with blisters in the past but not with these (and my Bridgedale socks tbf).
Absolutely love them - I know I need to clean them but then they won't look the same!

These hiking shoes have THE easiest, most readily adjustable lacing/cinching system I have ever seen: just wonderful! The shoes are very comfortable. Resist rain and sleet, but I have not walked through puddles to test total waterproof-ness. Caveat: the tread is very deep, so one brings home lots of bark, gravel, etc. Only thing I can identify that would improve this model could be some kind of tab at the top of the tongue: there is nothing really to grab, so it can be challenging to keep the tongue from slipping down when putting the shoe on. This is not a deal-breaker, just fair disclosure.

My walks average 4-5 miles daily on trail, sand, asphalt. I replace shoes about every 3-4 months. While this is the best show I have bought in years, the fit and quality have been inconsistent. I just bought my 4th pair. Loved my first and third. The second pair did not last and I felt the stability wasn't there. My fourth and current pair seems to need more time to break in (quite stiff) and fit larger than previous pairs.

I"ve missed the wider fit of previous Salomon's so I was excited to see this option in a wide. It's wide enough (just) but after wearing them for a while and comparing them to my older models it fits about half a size long.

Lightweight and waterproof shoe for walking trails and less technical trails. Easy to clean material after dusty or muddy hikes.

I bought these shoes for a muddy, damp hiking trip in Scotland and they fared well. They do slip a bit on one foot, but wearing thicker socks helped. I can't wait to wear them in rainy weather!

I've had these Salimons for about 18 months and they're about at the end of their life, so I think is the best time to review them. I found them very comfortable and very waterproof, 10/10 there. But the reasons I didn't give 5 stars is because I didn't feel the sole and tread to be sufficiently hard wearing, the chunky tread becoming smooth within 4-5 months.

Fits and feels good right out of the box. The tongue moves around a lot and needs frequent adjusting; not fixed to the inside of the shoe as most hiking shoes.

I bought these shoes and would have preferred a local vendor so I could try sizes. I'm still unsure if the 9 or 9.5 was the best. I bought the 9.5 and used them to hike a rocky trail. They did VERY WELL and I had no toe banging from too short a shoe. However I did have some heel slippage.

Bought these for my wife as I have found Gor- Tex very reliable. They fit fine and are as described but have one design flaw in that the tongue is constantly slipping down under the laces and has to be tugged up into position to restore comfort. A fixed tongue shoe would probably be a better choice.

I am really happy with these shoes. I have narrow feet and struggle with walking footwear but these are great. Excellent grip on all surfaces (inc. ice & snow) and on inclines. No rubbing or pinching anywhere. All round great shoe.
