Have had multiple 5-8 mile hikes on multiple terrains and on some rainy days. Loving this shoe!

When I wear it is comfortable and fit well. But there is a script on the shoe at the front side which was not there in the pictures. I didn't like it. I love comfort but that should not shoud as I am here!

The shoes were perfect but there was one downside I wished the soles lasted a bit longer

I was on the hunt for a good hiking shoe, but one that was lightweight and had enough support to get me through a few different terrains (waterproof wouldn't hurt either). I took the advice of a hiking pal and decided to try out the Speedcross 6. I heard that they ran a little narrow (they do) and when I received my first pair, the fit was just a little too snug (the wide version was unavailable). I went a half a size up, and they were just perfect. Not too roomy, just enough to be comfortable, with the most support I think I've ever had in a shoe. I took them for a spin last weekend and they were all that I expected. Easy to move in, gripped well on dry and wet terrain and didn't weigh my foot down. Great shoe! Runs narrow.

I purchased this waterproof shoe to manage my hiking in rainy days or wet trail. But unfortunately I am not happy with this pair and didn't carry this to Dolomites in this summer. Still after 6-7 months I don't feel comfortable, I still get occasional blisters at the back of my foot and sometime if I walk for longer hours it hurts my toes. It's sturdy, well-built and good looking but somehow it's not loving my feet, I can't comfortable wear even after 6-7 months. It's a bad purchase for me.

This is my 5th pair of trail shoes and I love them. I originally bought them to walk/run on dirt roads and trails, but now I wear them to the office. I am on my feet for 9 hours at a time. I also recommend them to my patients.

Took thee to Europe. Was able to use one shoe for challenging trail runs in the morning, to walks along cobblestone streets, then easy hikes to catch mountain top sunsets. these shoes did it all.

I returned them. They still have the wrong photo on the website. The top of the shoe is covered with a huge speed cross 6 logo. The website photo is just plain fabric on top with no logo. They seemed comfy, well made and nice but I didnt want to walk around with two billboards on top of my feet. Fix your picture Salomon.

Wear the shoes everyday for everything. Toes seem to run a little narrow so next pair might go up a size. Im having an issue with my stank feet making them stinky but easy to toss them in the washer. Highly recommend these shoes

I bought the Speedcross GTX sneakers for a comfortable waterproof sneaker for casual hiking and walking my dogs in wet grass. I do not run anymore, but still wanted a pair of sneakers that were waterproof and comfortable to wear in wet conditions. The Speekcross Gore-Tex sneakers serve that purpose. The only recommendation I would have for improvement would be the addition of a loop tab in the back to help slide the heal into them. The tongue and back are soft for maximum comfort, and that makes them a little harder to get on without sitting down and using a finger to guide your foot into them in order to avoid crushing the tongue and backs.

Always risky purchasing shoes online, but have had good luck with Salomens. The shoes were comfortable out of the box and provide ample support and traction on the trail. I use them mostly for hiking, but they grip both rocks and steep inclines/declines well. Would absolutely recommend!

I wore these on a recent 10 mile hike through Rocky Mountain National Park, moderate to strenuous trails with lots of rocks , some snow and mud. Very comfortable, great grip , stable and good cushioning. Gore Tex can be warm during the summer but worth it for trekking through mud and melting snow. I think these will work well for the regular daily use and going to the gym. I also like the draw string laces and they look good as well.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Runs SmallRuns Large
Runs NarrowRuns Wide
Poor SupportGreat Support
I was looking for more of a hiking/walking shoe than a trail running shoe. The Speedcross 6 GTX is lightweight and has significant cushioning but less rugged than the XA Pro 3D V9, so I went with the other Salomon instead. If you are looking for a trail running shoe, the Speedcross 6 GTX appears to be much more rugged than the Adidas Terrex Voyager 21 that I also tried.
I'd also recommend:

Very stylish shoe and seems very solid, but it's way too small on the width, runs small on the size and doesn't offer much support, so after a short time of having them on my feet were already hurting.

This seems like an excellent shoe built to perform. Despite what the specs say, this shoe runs very small. Ive only worn Salomon size 8.5 for over 10 years and have owned almost a dozen different pairs. This shoe is not only shorter overall but the fit is VERY snug in the forefoot. Sizing up would change the tow break and make the heel sloppy. Ill have to go with a different style. If this shoe fits you, rock it!

My wife and I usually find ourselves trail running/hiking on rocky terrain especially in Maine and were recently looking for a trail shoe that would accommodate this type of terrain. We are big Salomon fans and after constantly reading and hearing nothing but really good things about the Speedcross, we decided to get a pair each. After a dozen or so outings we are so happy with this choice! This shoe feels so solid and substantial while being light and looking really nice. I am looking forward to the summer and trail running and hiking in Maine and New England where rocks are abundant and part of the landscape and we wont have to worry about whether are shoes are up to the task. We have found the Speedcross. Thank you Salomon!
