Only thing I really didn't like about the Cross Hike 2 is the lacing system. It's great for walking around and fast to lace/unlace but for running and light hiking I could not get the ankle support I require from such thin laces. I cut them out and laced them up with something more substantial. Now they are good to go, like all Saloman products!

Love these shoes. Still getting them broken in. I like the speed laces. The only issue I've found is that the tongue of the boot needs to be wider.

Needed a mid-height boot and Salomon quicklace system helps to secure shoes to my narrow {13AAA} foot. These are fine product very serviceable. The pocket for lace storage is a bit too long, difficult to tighten laces completely then store because laces cover over the storage pocket. I would prefer if the uppers wrapped a bit further around the top of the show, the top of the tongue has gaps on each side of foot/ankle with no coverage.

I got these about a month ago. Got to wear them outdoors recently for a rainy weekend and found that they kept my feet completely dry. They are also lightweight and held up well.
The size does seem to run rather large. Even with my heavy socks they are wider than I'd prefer and allow some heel movement within the shoe. Already discarded the packaging, so I'm keeping them.

Very comfortable, good support , gore tex and quck laces .
Its a five star product, from day to day stuff drving, nipping into town to hill walking .
Would have liked option of a dark blue stripe on the bottom or some dark blue options. A few more colour options if poss, for my next purchase.

These are absolutely amazing! I believe the shoelace tech is not where it should be for the greatness in the shoe. It is a neat idea but unfortunately it loosens up just a smidge with activeness. I believe i will put a shoelace so I can make sure it doesn't loosen up with time. Other than that, Amazing.

I brought the product about a month ago, right off the bat I loved the appearance of the shoe. Trying on the shoe is when I ran into my first problem. There no ankles support. I figured the laces would tighten up around the ankle however, it did not. The second issue with the high top area or ankle area, if you are wearing pants, your pants tend to get caught on the tongue of the shoe and the loop on the back of the shoe. This is annoying when trying to present a clean look for law enforcement. I have not been able to test the gore Tex, which is the main reason I brought the shoe. I personally would not buy this shoe again Soley because of the ankle support and presentation when wearing the shoe with pants. I will find another product that suits my needs. Besides those two issue I like the shoes and will remain using them.

I bought a pair of these online as I had bought Salomon before and they were great. The first pair that was shipped had a small internal defect in the toe-box, so I raised this with Salomon's support. They immediately sent another pair and all was good. Excellent product with excellent support.

This maybe not what this shoe is made for but I use it while playing slow pitch, especially those early morning games when the field is wet. You can also use them on rainy days too. I rotate them with my other pair of speed cross

Rating a 4 because I can't actually wear them. My son wears a 13 and he gets to wear them. He puts on a bulkier wool hiking sock & absolutely loves them. But they are not a 14.
No inner ankle rub, broke in within the first mile on a flat hike. Good traction, toe box fit, and support.
BUT I CAN'T WEAR THEM.

Pros. Lightweight, comfortable, waterproof and grippy tread. Cons. Quick lace system misses the mark for me. Needs an additional eyelet to provide a secure fit and lock the tongue down.

Was looking for a combined trail runner/mid hiking shoe and these fit the bill. After running a few times in these, the ankle support is very comfortable and I can’t even tell that they are mids. Lightweight, good grip and feel sturdy running on uneven terrain. Haven’t tested out their waterproofness yet. Compared to other salomon shoes, the insoles are lacking cushion. Length is true to size but the toe box is a little narrow. Overall a good shoe.

Surprisingly light!! With a well-made feel, waterproofy and deep treads for traction. Feels like a specialized boot -- for a long comfortable hike in the rain, on an easy or medium trail.

The boots are light, have good traction and are waterproofbut
But the laces are terrible. They don't stay tight. They really drive me nuts! I'm looking for replacements but the loops are small and I haven't been successful yet.

I got them for everyday shoes. Living in the pacific north west, the winter is very wet. So these shoes hold up great to that. Until you walk in the house and step on any sort of flat surface then you will slip and fall. They are very slick to say the least. They need to sip the tread better.

Not as comfortable as many previous Salomon boots, not the same insole as all previous boots?? The insole is either missing? Or simply far too thin

Shoes are very comfortable. They need to work on the tightness of the tongue to your ankle. Way to loose. Everything falls in the top of the shoe

Hi Folks,
I purchased these for the Walking the Munros of Scotland mostly in the Winter months.
Unfortunately the Boot is a Debris Collector due to the Bad Open Tongue design, I would've taken a Shoe option if available. I don't think Salomon understand what a Wide Option is and how anatomically restrictive their sizing is.
They need to read "Born to Run" to understand how the Human Foot operates correctly.

I got the speed cross and thought these mid rise boots would be great for work. They are comfortable but I like a little more snug fit around the ankles. The zip laces just dont provide that support.
