We ordered these while in search for a snowshoe boot that has the thai systems that these do. . My husband is beyond thrilled with these boots, because he has not had to stop in the middle of a snowshoe wants to resecure the laces. They're comfortable, they're durable, they have good tread for walking, and we would say that they are just about the most perfect boot ever.

These are so lightweight. I wear a half size larger in Salomon's than running shoes, and these also have enough space to wear thick socks or double socks and still feel great. Great quality, and the cinch cord runs so smooth.

they feel a little snug at the top of the toes but I am pleasantly surprised at how light the boots are.

I was very impressed from day one with the comfort and stability they offer. Been through some very wet ground and feet stay nice and dry.

I live in Denmark, I bought them about a month ago. Great for rainy weather, unfortunately too cold for snow.

This is my 4th pair of Salomon boots (3 previous pairs of X Ultra 4 Mid Height). For a change, I wanted to try a different design in terms of looks and I also wanted to try the quick lace system; whilst apprehensive of the latter, I shouldn't have been. The boots are much quicker to get on and off and the lace system just works beyond expectation. Once engaged, snug fit and I particularly like the pouch to store the lace. Super comfy and I love the styling. So far, I have worn them on 3 short walks (7 Km each, with steep incline and gradual decent). Excellent grip and provide confidence on slippery / mud / chalk of South Downs. Early days, but I am really pleased. Once piece of advice, these boots measure up a 1/2 UK size smaller that the X Ultra 4s). Salomon Customer Service were seamless in changing them. Thank you.

Having had various pairs of Speedcross, these are a delight. My workplace is in the Scottish Hills, I use multiple footwear for certain conditions & these boots are up there! Worn with gaiters, they're like a pair of supportive wellington boots. On general walks, they're basically just so practical and lightweight on the feet. D Harris. Knoydart Scotland.

I've not worn them much but the first full day was great. No break in period to speak of. Very comfortable offering some support to the ankle (I say "some" because I've not figured out how to get the laces to tighten around the ankle enough yet). Love them.

I got these boots to compliment the Speedcross 6 shoes in the wet and diverse conditions of the West Highland Way - 100 miles in the highlands of Scotland. They kept my feet dry the entire time, and gripped great, even in the wet rocky conditions. The wide toe box helped as the days and miles wore on. The only fault I could say is the cushioning a little thin so some thicker wool socks made a big difference in comfort.

After a bit of research i purchased these about a month ago - principal criteria was keeping my feet dry in wet conditions. So far so good. Very easy to put on and take off and no laces to get full of mud and tatty. Fit is true to size and they appear to be well made - very happy sp far.

About 100k on these so far and loving them! Was skeptical about the lacing system due to some other reviews but I am actually loving the speed and they haven't loosened off at all. Also it's really nice to just loosen them off all the way when having a lunch break to give your feel a little rest. Won't get wet in the morning dew, and won't choke your feet with sweat! My face so far!

Amazing boots. Only issue is I have wide feet. And the wide boots are a little too snug for me. But gave them to my little brother. And he is a fanatic about them. So overall incredible shoes. Great quality

I was a mountain guide for 25 years and have worns multiple types of boots and approach shoes. I have worn the Cross Hike in the Sierra, the Sonaraen desert, the Tetons and the Colorado Rockies, the boots have perfromed more than excellantly. The perform as if they are board lasted, the arch support is excellant. This all happened in one season, the boots are ready for the next season!!! Give'em a go

Bought these to go on holiday with. Exactly what I wanted. Lightweight and comfortable with a little support for my ankle. Not a full on walking boot but that is not what I expected.

This is an amazing boot to hike or use for work. Great grip, snug, light weight and good for all surfaces. Only thing I can say is I wish it had more ankle support. Overall, very reliable and durable. They are pretty narrow; I wear a size 8 and got a 8.5 and it fits just right.

I have just been using it over 2 weeks, apart from the things already pointed out i.e. not that strong ankle support and the upper part of shoe tongue dropping down if the pocket is used to tuck in the laces, rest of the shoes seems good. It is surely on the slimmer side of fit as with most of salomon shoes. Just took 2-3 days of 2-3 miles of walk per day for the shoes to break in and now it is quite comfortable. I will have to use it for couple of months to check if the upper is durable enough as has these issue with shoes that I got in past. I don't want to rate is low in durability as haven't used it to that extent where I can say, it is not
