Being a fan of the Bondi 7, I thought I would try the Bondi 8. Not a fan. There is less arch support, and cushion. The sole feels wider and caused me to almost trip over my own shoes. I would be sending these back if I hadn't worn them out of my house. While the sizing felt the same, the shoe itself feels cheaper.

I have been wearing Ons for years and decided I would see what the big deal was about Hoka. I stand all day at work, and need something that doesn't hurt my feet, or cause my knees and back to hurt the way the Ons had begun doing. When I first tried the Hokas on, I thought they were amazingly comfortable with good padding and support. Walking was so comfortable and I could feel a big difference in my posture and I didn't feel so "crickety" when getting up from a seated or prone position anymore. I was very excited to wear them to work. I was shocked at how badly they hurt my feet and back. My low back is absolutely killing me after just a few hours of standing, and my feet hurt so bad and are so sore I have to sit down frequently to give them a rest. When I start walking around, the pain subsides. Which is great, but I need a pair of shoes I can stand in for 7-8 ours a day. For the price and the hype, these shoes are awful. I had to return them.

The size in length was great. It veered in on the side of my arch and actually hurt my feet. The outer sole looked ridiculous how it protruded out and since I have never spent that much on shoes before they needed to look nice and feel great!

The size and fit were great, as far as I could tell. I put them on, right out of the box, and stood up and immediately fell backwards. The heel drop is so extreme that I placed these comfy shoes (as far as I could tell) right back in the box. This was my first purchase of Hoka brand shoes and now I'm afraid to try other styles, fearing that the same experience will happen. I was also shocked by how wide my feet looked in these shoes. But I was looking for extended width soles for my pronation issues, so I guess that's what you get, right? And as for style, my size (10.5 W) limited the colors available, so I was "stuck" with neon shoes. Why, may you ask, did I even order these in the first place? My podiatrist recommended them for feet with "issues" so I took the recommendation to heart. I guess I'm going to have to find something else that will accommodate post-surgical, arthritis bound feet.

These are definitely better than the leather ones but they still weren't what I expected. They don't feel anything like they look. I thought since they soles are so thick and cushiony looking that's how they'd feel but they don't. My co-worker says she gets the wide shoes even though her feet aren't wide maybe that will help someone who's looking to buy these but I'm gonna stick to my Brooks. I have three pair and absolutely love them all.

I have had hoka bondi 8 before and loved them but these are not the same fit. Arch support is not the same and width is not the same as last pair

I am very disappointed. These are different from the Bondi 7. The insoles are not plush at all and not comfortable, they are going back!

I don’t know how they changed this shoe but it looks and feels completely different than previous pair. Honestly not as comfortable and they are extremely unattractive on foot, which is saying a lot for Hoka. Clown shoes

I don't know if the pair I received were defective, but the tongue on the medial side of the sneaker was attached too high on the sneaker, so when tied, the tongue was off center and it resulted in a too tight fit. I hope it's a defect because I've worn these sneakers for years and it would be such a bummer to have to find another model. Will be returning.

I really wanted them to feel good. The toe area was really wide but it was tight around the ankle area. The heel felt lower than the rest of the shoe. I also felt the sides of the insole too. It was very uncomfortable. I actually found a pair of Skechers Dlites that felt great with a lot of heel and arch support. My back nor hips hurt while walking and standing on concrete for 8 hours a day in these Skechers. Sometimes more money doesn't always mean something is better.

too wide across toes

My feet pronate in these shoes more that normal. Runs large.

I have had Bondi 5, 6, 7 and tried #8. I don't know why they changed them so drastically. They look and feel like clown shoes. They are weirdly wide across the toe and narrow through the rest of the shoe (that part didn't bother me). I am trying like crazy to find the 7 in stock anywhere but no luck. These are on their way back to Zappos and hopefully Hoka fixes these soon!!

These were recommended for walking on cobblestones in Europe. While I think they can do the job, the styling was just ugly. They are very wide looking at the ball of the feet and reminded me of clown shoes. I returned and Zappos made a quick refund. I bought the Ecco soft 7 and they look good and very comfortable for walking.

I'm so bummed - I had Bondi 6's which I absolutely loved and which felt so comfy/soft on my feet while still providing good support. These Bondi 8's are much firmer/ do not have the same cushion that I am used to, which is surprising given how thick the sole is. Sadly given this, I am returning the shoe.

These were way too wide and I was afraid I would trip over them when I walk. Thank you, Zappos for free returns. Going to try a shoe in person and then order

I have been a Bondi fan since they introduced the shoe. I currently have four pairs of the Bondi 7 (different colors). I ordered the Bondi 8 immediately after they were released. I am so disappointed in this version; the upper is very flimsy, the cut is different, and all in all, it felt like a completely different shoe which did not work at all. Hoka, please go back to the style/fit of the 7.

I could not find Hoka 7 so I had to try the Hoka 8. Did not like them . No arch support. I could wear the 7's all day with no problem. The 8's are causing knee and heel pain. On top of every thing else they are not black. When you are outside in the sun they are blue. Not happy with these shoes at all.

Why do shoe companies constantly change the product? I have had multiple foot surgeries and now have a fused ankle. The Bondi 7 is the only shoe that has fit me properly. The Bondi 8 is not the same--the arch has moved back. Just beware of that difference before you order.

It gives me pressure in all the wrong places and the front is pretty wide, it doesn't look good.

insole was uncomfortable

I tried so hard to keep these but I could not after 3 months. They changed the style so much from the Bondi 7 but I thought it would be the same. Not the same. My left inside heel has had the worst blister, turned callus but not just a callus, rather like an injury to my inside heel. I went to fleet feet and had my feet as I walk diagnosed and bought some better fitting shoes that do not touch that area, so now it is healing, finally and there is no pain. I really wanted the Bondi 7 but apparently they’ve stopped making it. I ended up with Altras. Awesome shoe.

Omg these feel like an injury waiting to happen - could not even last a day in these. NO arch support, constantly felt like I was having to focus on not supinating or pronating my gait. My favorite walking / running shoes are old Asics and Brooks Ghost. These are going to be returned and I will never revisit the Hoka brand again, can't believe people love these shoes?

I thought I loved these...but after wearing them around the house all day, my back was uncomfortable. There were more narrow than expected. Unfortunately, they weren't as magical as hoped.

I don’t know what’s going on with Hokas, but they squeak constantly. My last pair did the same thing. This will probably be the last pair I purchase, even tho they’re incredibly comfortable. Too bad.
