I was a huge fan of the Mach 4. The mach 5 is a good shoe, but mach 4 was better. i like how the match 5 added a roomier toe box and the new material they used, it feels more lightweight. I do not like the new tongue. The tongue does not stay in place and tends to slide down while im running its gets uncomfortable and annoying. The tongue on the match 4 was better/more comfortable.

I tried to get a similar sneaker to the Rocket X for less money. The Mach 5 is a nice sneaker but it does not compare to the Rocket X. The Rocket X is $285 when delivered the Mach 5 is like $150. I love the Rocket X for its bounce

I recently purchased the Mach 5, I've had multiple pairs in 10.5, but this time the shoe was small even after the generous break in period. Damaged my toes at the Chicago Marathon. I also purchased a pair of Clifton's as a training shoe, they are also not true to size. Currently have two new sets of shoes that are not fitting like my other Hokas

These are great lightweight and responsive shoes. If you have multiple running shoes the Mach 5 is a good addition for speed workouts and races. However, these are not durable enough for everyday runs. My outsoles are completely worn after six weeks and roughly 150 miles on mostly roads and maintained grass trails.

The tough slide down, and too wide, if you have wide feet might be a good showe but if not a horrible shoe

These shoes are wonderful. They are comfortable, supportive, and light. Even great for longer runs. My only concern if durability/longevity. The soles are wearing incredibly quickly. These don't have the hardened rubber sole like other models do (which is confounding to me). Having that more durable rubber on the bottom would make these a 10/10 and probably wouldn't add too much weight. The way these are wearing, you'd think I have 250 miles on them but I've maybeee put 100 on them. I question the price given how frequently they will have to be repurchased. If you're putting in serious miles maybe search for another model.

I'm an 11.5 in the BondiX but apparently I'm a 12 in the Mach5, would be nice if Hoka could make all styles the same.

I've purchased a few pair of Hokas over the years and I love them for their comfort and stability. The Mach 5 feels a little flimsier than other models. Probably by design but it has been my least favorite of Hokas I have purchased.

Pros: lightweight, stylish, comfortable mesh upper that fits securely without heel slippage. Cons: felt stiff, without much cushion or bounce. The EVA foam midsole felt cheap and lacked the propulsiveness of shoes from other brands priced similarly with higher quality foams (like PEBA). The price tag seems high for the shoe you're getting. They also run narrow. I was looking for a tempo / daily trainer and these weren't it. I sent them back - but cheers to Hoka's return policy!

Decent shoe but at this price I expect better fit and performance. Each run (for me) is followed by two days of pain near base of big toe. I have been running in high performance shoes for 40 years. Sadly, this one misses the mark.

I plan to use them on the treadmill at the gym. I will need to buy another pair for walking/running on trails outside. It seems these shoes wouldn't last that long if I used them for both. I would like to have the ability to design my own shoe. Just not 100% sure I got the best one this time around. So many to choose.

Like I said it is really comfortable and I love it. I used them for two different trail races of 10 miles each then maybe like 5 hikes that's all. If you see the condition of these shoes you will literally cry because they are not durable at all. During this race, I saw a lot of them wearing the same shoes and most of theirs look pretty beat up too and it's just sad. I wanted more from this shoe when it comes to durability. I did the same trail races before with on shoes and they held up pretty well. Only three stars because if you want to use these shoes for general uses and stuff then this is for you... if you want to use it for hikes and trail runs then don't !

Sorry, but the tongue in this shoe is so flimsy it is not comfortable at all. The heels rub against my leg above the socks that I wear, which makes it even more uncomfortable. If I had to do over again, I would buy a more traditional pair with firmer Sides and spur piece

This is a great fitting shoe that supports my posture and gait in road running. I'm not happy that the shoe has zero traction when the asphalt is slightly wet.

This is my second pair of Mach 5's and I like them a lot. The response is wonderful for having no carbon insert and the cushion is perfect for any distance. But the "rubberized foam" just ain't it. I need some amount of rubber on the shoe. To help not only longevity (I get 120-150 miles per pair) but also traction. These shoes are a hazard to my health in the rain. I'm 190 pounds, I shouldn't be blistering through shoes like this. But here we are.

I purchased the Mach 5 after I was done with my Mach 4's. I think the feel of the shoe all together feels amazing. The issue I have with the 5's is the tongue. The tongue on the 4's was more of a solid build while the tongue on the 5's is very thin and constantly sliding down my foot. While it's subtle I am constantly noticing it and pulling it back up. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed on the next ones!

Outer seam of shoe where heel portion met mid portion of shoe rubs against bony side of foot causing irritation. Also the extended and curved rear heal portion causes my foot to slam down the outer heel than rotate. It's a sure case of knee injury if I would wear them. If they'd put on a normal heel, this could be a good shoe.

They seem to be high around the ankle and rub on my ankle bone when I wear them. They also seems to be a lot of fabric on the upper as when I tie them I have to pull the laces very tight together. The comfort of the foam sole is fantastic
