I have been wearing the Bondi 7 shoe for 2 years and love it. I read reviews about the Bondi 8 with most people feeling that the 8 was an improvement over the 7. But I found the Bondi 8 to be worse than the 7 for one reason: the arch support was so severe that it felt like it was sticking into my arch rather than supporting my arch. This was very uncomfortable on two separate pairs of the Bondi 8s I tried. I ordered the same size 8s as my 7s, and even went through the process of checking my size by drawing my foot on a sheet of paper and measuring it, etc. and confirmed I am ordering the correct size. I thought about just wearing the new 8s for a while to see if the stabbing arch would eventually go away. But I decided it may not ever change and I would be stuck with shoes that were uncomfortable to wear. So, unfortunately I had no choice but to return the Bondi 8s and keep wearing the Bondi 7s I have. I'm not sure what I'll do when my 7s wear out completely? I'm hoping maybe the Bondi 9s will be better. But I'm sad the 8s don't work : (

I returned the shoes because they did not fit my high instep feet. I wish they fit as they look very well made.

Good cushioning. Very wide for standard size. Sides don't fit right sometimes.

For the price I would have preferred buying ON shoes, I'm not 100% satisfied, shoes aren't good for standing for a long while and they are tight on the top part of foot.

The Bondi 8 seems different to me. The 7 was a much softer ride. Maybe I got a bad pair. If you guys changed the foam density on the 8 please change it back. There was nothing wrong with the 7 except the small hole that would develop on the sides on every pair I've ever owned and I've owed quite a few pair. They are also a little tighter on the top of my foot. They are still a good shoe just not as good as the 7's.

I have the Bondi 7( about a year)wide, cushion decent, but midfoot and toe box little too narrow with a hard medial ridge,it needs a tad more width to clear my midfoot, I tried on a Bondi 8 wide in a local running store and all my concerns are worse. The cushion was more firm, the midfoot was MORE narrow, along with the toebox,no splay at all. I dont get it. The shoe seemed well made like all Hokas, thats why I keep trying new models, wrong direction for me.That foot shape will destroy anyones feet. Just a matter of time

This shoe is great in the sense that it got rid of my shin splints when running or jogging, but it is terrible on my heels after standing at work. Heels hurt a bunch after work.

I'm 84 now and my running dog and I get over 3 miles in six days a week! Bondi's have changed big time over the years, from a real soft ride to much firmer, however, I still love them!
I have two pairs of worn out 6's, tried the 7 and bought a pair of 8's to compare and now shipped back the bad boy 8, because they are too clumsy, and too firm for me!
I Just bought two additional sevens, before they run out.
We live on the beach in San Diego area and have beach rentals, During the Oceanside IronMan Triathlon 70.3, we had this well know running shoe company out of Boulder, Colorado who gave me a pair of $170 flat running shoes and the next year told him too firm for me. I know what he was thinking15 years ago, that I was too old and he said try Bondi's, great reviews and you will love them with their soft ride! And now you know the rest of the story.....
Bottomline, the Lord has been very good to me and want to make sure I can run on Bondi's for another nine years or more! Amen, let be so!!!

The fit was good I had plantar fasciitis surgery done and the shoe although comfortable,I didn't get the support I needed. I have a pair of hokas running shoes still and a pair of their boots and they are great..in short these were to big of a shoe for me.
I'd also recommend:

6th pair of Bondi shoes! I usually use one pair for running and one for everyday use. The Bondi 8s are considerably narrower than previous generation. Once I put my foot in, I'm got 2" of laces on each side. Never experienced this Bondi 6/7s. Also, is it just me or have they lost some of the plush feeling? Bondi 6 felt plush, Bondi 7 a bit less and the new Bondi 8 are more responsive than plush. Definitely going the wrong direction with this flagship shoe in their lineup.

I'm a woman with wide feet and the woman's wide is too narrow; for some reason, they don't make XW in women's shoes. So I tried men's XW. I wear a woman's 9 1/2 - 10. So I bought a men's 8 1/2 XW. How is it possible that this shoe is still too tight and my foot feels like it's being held in a vice against the insole?? I think it would be a very comfortable shoe if it wasn't for that. I don't know whether to try a larger size or give up totally.

my feet require a wider shoe such as the Bondi 8 X-Wide 11 4E which I have purchased before thinking I would try these

I need 13 4E shoes with a large toe box. I was limited to Bondi 8. The right shoe feels fine. The left shoe feels tight. I was going to send them back but everyone I talk to said these shoes would help me walk. I am not convinced yet so I decided to keep them and give them a good try. Somedays the left big toe gets sore shortly after putting them on, other days it seems fine. I tried chatting with customer service before purchasing but they claim they could not provide any guidance on fit or even tell me that the bondi 8 had a large toe box.

I have been wearing Bondi 7 for many years. When I realized I couldn't get it in my size anymore I just assumed the Bondi 8 was just as good a shoe, not. I've been wearing Bondi 8 for several weeks and they are killing my feet. The cushion, soft landing wasn't there like the Bondi 7. Not sure what happened but I'm disappointed.

I want to love them but they don't compare to the running on clouds feel that I get from the Bondi7. While there is cushion I loved the extreme cushion feeling of the Bondi7 which is what set them apart from the completion. IMHO Hoka messed with a good thing. I had to switch from a 10M to a 10W due to the toe box that is much narrower. I also feel that it rubs just below my ankle bone in a funny way. I am going to try them on one more run and if they don't fit right return them to Fleet Feet for a different brand. I might have to convert to the OnCloud running shoe which disappoints ,since I have been wearing the Bondi7 for several years.

Bondis are my go-to-shoe, but I do not like the Bondi 8. The way the tongue is attached to the side rubs against my foot. I was very disappointed in that. I prefer the Bondi 7 or 6 and have to go to other sites to purchase them. Especially because the Hoka website doesn't have 7s in my size and width.

I'm a little annoyed with you with this company that I wanted to order another pair of sneakers and was trying to buy it and get a coupon and you guys been giving me the runaround all day and now I'm not gonna buy it I'm gonna buy something else because I'm annoyed with the run around with the bologna. Keep give me bologna, bologna bologna.

The base/bottom of the shoe flares out so not only does it make my foot look very wide but I tend to clip the two shoes together when I walk. I’m a woman and buried the men’s because I preferred the color but I had the same issue with the women’s version. Retired and bought a different style.

Something about the insole perhaps it's supposed to make you feel like you're getting massaged but to me it kind of feels like you're walking on a Pebley beach so it's not comfortable to me

I would prefer more padding for the inner sole. I have had 2 bouts of plantar fasciitis and a soft inner sole is a must for me. otherwise the shoes are ok.

Walking, there seems to be a breaking in period, left arch is a little too big, if my toes hit first, it is more comfortable. Will try a different model next time or go back to Merrills
