I DO NOT like the attached tong. I cannot get these shoes on my feet without damaging the heel. I love my XC street shoes and my XC golf shoes but the attached tong destroyed my image of the XC sneakers.

Did not know when I ordered the show that thee tongue was going to be part of the shoe. That is, the tongue could not be opened to allow my foot to enter the shoe. As a result of this construction, my foot could not get into the shoe and had to return the item. Would love to see this form of construction mentioned in future catalogs so I can know what not to consider for purchase.

Very good looking and was excited to acquire a third pair of these great XC4 shoes ! However, the 10M previously ordered and immediately worn were not comparable in size or comfort.Sadly, they were disappoint and were returned

Why did it seem like a good idea to sew the entire length of the tongue to the shoe? It is not even possible to get one's foot into the shoe. It's obvious why the shoe is on sale for such a reduced price.

I read the reviews and thought it can't be right. I was wrong. I ordered same size as every other JM shoe and couldn't put my foot in. Why the heck sew the tongue in and give a very narrow opening. Sent back today

I couldn't fit my foot inside the shoe. The tongue is attached to the shoe so it's a very narrow opening, like a slipper. If you have wider feet, forget about it.

I couldn't get my foot in the shoe! I've worn only J&M shoes for well over 20 years and this is the first time I've had trouble finding the right shoe. I read the reviews and some mentioned the tongue being sown in place with NO flexibility but thought it must have been a bit of an overstatement. No, I couldn't get the shoe on. In years past, this design would have never made it to the customer because of J&M's quality control. Apparently things have changed. There were shoes that I bought over and over again, exact same shoe, but not sure about J&M now.

Purchased 11.5 wide running shoes. Terrible fit. Couldn't even force the shoe on my feet. I have always worn 11 D and I purchased these shoes thinking they might be too large. Boy was I wrong!

the shoes are comfortable and good for casual where. I work at home, and wore outside a few times. The right shoe on the grey pair makes a squeaking noise so annoying and loud I can no longer wear them, barely worn 10 times. Problem I bought them over 6 months ago, and no return policy, wonder if I can shoot something into the heel location of the shoe to stop the noise. UGH, almost $400 for 2 pair, and can't wear one of them Don in Alexandria VA

Not comfortable at all. The "wide" feature is not wide. They look comfortable but have a very stiff sole which feels like walking on concrete. Definitely not what I expected from J&M especially for the price. Would never purchase these again.

Love the concept of a waterproof shoe with the elevated sole. However, I do not like the upper design of the shoe. It is difficult to put them on my feet without using a shoe horn.
