It "shed" till I washed it 3-4 times. Got hole in upper back after 3 months! Tried to return and they wanted me to pay shipping and they "would look at it." I don't buy from LL Bean anymore.

Nice idea but it's really a summer weight or travel robe. Flannel so thin you can see light through itdefinitely not for New England winter.

I thought I purchased a black watch pattern robe as a Christmas present for myself. When I opened the package, I found a red and black robe. The fabric is very thin and the robe is not warm at all.

So disappointed. Unacceptably thin material. Shapeless. Also, the robe was long for someone of average height.

This is the second Scotch Flannel Robe I have purchased from LLBean. My first robe lasted approximately 15 years. The secondthis is the second or third year ( and I only wear it November-March)and my elbow went through the right sleeve. I did notice when I received it, that the flannel was thinner than the previous robe. Hind sight, I should have returned it then. I am now trying to figure out how to patch the elbow because I can't afford a new robe at this price every other year. Sorry LLBean, but I will think long and hard over future purchases.

This robe is of poor quality. The flannel material is very thin. I could see through it when I held it up to take a look at the material. The dark color of the robe makes it look more substantial than it is in the pictures on the website. The thinness of the material makes it very clingy when worn.

My husband has a flannel L.L. Bean robe that I covet, and I finally bought one for myself (in a ladies' size that would actually fit). I am very disappointed in the quality of the material and the construction of the robe I received. The flannel is so thin that you can see light through it. The collar and tie belt never lay flat, they just roll up on themselves and look sloppy. It would be a fine robe if I paid $25 at a discount store, not $75 with an L.L. Bean tag on it. Not even remotely comparable to the quality of my husband's robe. I've rarely been more disappointed with a purchase.

Have purchased before and lasted for at least four years and was a favorite. Latest purchase the fabric literally wore out in less than two years. Very disappointed in quality which has lessened.

The lint is unbelievable, and it picks up every hair it comes in contact with like a magnet. I washed and dried it twice and it still trails lint balls wherever I go. Since it is long, it also picks up hair from the ground making a real mess. The fabric is of very poor quality. I've had many flannel shirts and have never had one this bad. Strangely, the interior side of the fabric seems a bit better. Also, the manufacture seems shoddy. The plaids don't match on the seams. I've bought many LLBean robes through the years but they have all been of exceptional quality. I never dreamed this would happen. Im willing to cut LLBean some slack with all the Covid related problems recently but I'm very disappointed. Maybe I should try the men's robes?

For anyone thinking to purchase this robe to replace an older LL Bean flannel robe, be warned this is NOT going to be a similar robe. Not even close. I purchased this one to replace an LL Bean flannel robe which I had since 1998. It lasted 20 years of daily use but finally became too worn out. The flannel on this newer robe is thinner and more coarse and it pills. The earlier robe just got softer and plusher after each wash. Further, this new robe is like velcro for hair, which is not a good thing when the robe is worn each day while hair is being blown dry. Interesting that "Scotch plaid" is made in El Salvador. LL Bean is no longer the same brand and quality it once was, and it's not just this item of clothing that has brought me to this decision. It is a huge disappointment to pay LL Bean prices for something that could easily be from the local discount store if a different tag was sewn in.

After waiting over 2 months for this item to arrive, I was disappointed upon opening the package. The flannel on this robe is lightweight and thin. This was not the quality I expected in a flannel Winter robe. I do not recommend this robe if you are looking for something warm.

For a "flannel"'material robe, this item was far too thin and flimsy even for CA winter. I was disappointed with the material used for the robe although the color was perfect; it was definitely not warm enough in cold winter evenings, and I returned it to LL Bean. Sorry!

I am super disappointed in the robe. The flannel is very thin - thinner than the robe I bought 6 years ago. Also, it is already pilling and I haven't even washed it. For that amount of money, I was expecting a better quality robe. I have been a customer of LLBean for many years and am not happy with this product.

I had one of these robes that lasted for many, many years. When I went to replace it, I was a little surprised by the many reviews saying the new robes had fallen to shreds in a very short time. But I took a chance. The result my robe also fell apart quickly. I was very careful about how I washed it and how it was dried. I am about to replace it and I am hoping the quality issue was temporary.

Poor quality is not what I expect from LLBean; I've been a customer for decades. The flannel was loosely woven and pilled and sloughed when washed (in extreme amounts) - you could see light through it. I shared a photo of my review for the flannel pajamas. Sadly disappointed.

After two washes the bathrobe felt paper thin. When it arrived it was soft and cozy. Disappointed and looking for another bathrobe to suit the purpose this one was meant to I.e. warmth.

I washed this robe once and had so much lint on it I washed it two more times. Still tons of lint and pills everywhere on the robe, in my washer, and in my dryer. I do not plan on wearing it and will probably donate it. Horrible waste of money. Very very low quality fabric

I was really excited to get this robe. Honestly though, I'd like to return it. It's like an oversized flannel shirt. Very thin, and medium is really big on me. I was hoping for something snuggly and this is not. Please note though, I've never (that I can think of) disliked anything I've ever gotten from LL Bean. This is a first. I don't live near by but will probably return it once I get a chance.
