I bought the Stewart plaid robe about 3 years ago. I was not able to buy a women's robe so ended up getting a man's robe. It was the most comfortable robe I have ever had and wore it all year except in winter when I used a fleece. Yes, it is thin but it is comfortably warm. The shawl collar is to my liking. The only complaint I have is it wore out at one elbow and I had to patch it. Will be good for another year or two but don't expect to get 20 to 25 years wear as a few other reviewers eluded to. I plan to ask for a new robe for Christmas.

Comfy, cozy, and warm enough. The fit is a bit wonky, but the fabric is soft and consistently true. I've washed it a few times now. Didn't shrink too much, if at all. The things I like about it are the softness of the color combo and fabric, the fact that you feel like you're really putting on a robe, and I look forward to wearing it cause I know I'm staying home to relax after I put it on! A real robe.

I received this robe for Christmas. Colour: Black Watch. I wanted a long robe to keep warm in the chilly months. The length is exactly what I was looking for - almost to my ankles. I would have picked a smaller size, but they were sold out. I don't mind this being big as it just wraps around.

This robe isn't bad it just wasn't what I expected in a flannel robe. It is very light weight and while the fabric is soft it needs to be thicker to give any warmth. The sizing is huge. I ordered a petite and the arms would still need to be rolled up and it was ankle length. It was also large across. In the end I decided to return it. It just wasn't for me.

The robe is incredibly soft and cozy. Sizing works. Have yet to wash, so I am curious how it will come out afterwards. Love the plaid.
My only complaint is that I think it's not quite heavy enough. A little too light, hence the 4 stars. I am wearing it as I "write" this, and along with my flannel pajamas I am wearing, I am also wearing a huge scarf along with it, for added warmth. Maybe I just need to turn the heat up more in my house!!! :)

wonderfully long for the tall, too extra roomy, light weight ... would have replaced with an XL but they did not have it in black watch plaid

I love this robe. It's just what I wanted. The flannel is soft and substantial. The overlap is ample so coverage is maintained as I walk outside to the hot tub. I have only two small complaints: the plaid could be matched better at the side seams, and there should be interfacing in the tie belt so it doesn't fold over to a rope-like band around my waist. I will alter the belt myself and then I will be quite happy.

I order a large petite for my 5ft2in height. It fit perfectly. The fabric was not to heavy, just right. Nice robe!!!!!!

I bought the Royal Steward and it is much darker than the picture. It is not bright red at all. And it was made in El Salvador, no mention of Portuguese flannel on the label. But it is a nice, cozy robe.

I love the feel of the flannel in this robe--super-soft and comfortable against skin. The arms and hem are both a good length, and the colors in the Black Watch tartan are really gorgeous. I could wish the robe were a little heavier. It's a little too light for winter, I think--more a fall weight. But a heavier flannel might be too stiff to be comfortable. Overall very happy with this robe.

This is a nice, soft but thin flannel robe. I sure don't understand all the reviews saying it runs large though. I usually wear small in Llbean and ordered a medium. If it shrinks it will be too small. Definitely would not keep at full price, but got at a discount so may keep.

Like the flannel robe. Good fit and warm. Complaint is that it gives off a lot of lint in the dryer.

Love the quality of the flannel; we own dozens of Bean flannels. My husband's black watch robe looks great in men's M, but the PM (my usual size) was decidedly oversized.

I was looking for a lightweight but warm (but not too warm) robe. I found fleece robes too be too staticky and cotton terry robes to be too heavy/bulky. This robe was the right warmth/weight for mid-atlantic winters.
Other reviewers pointed out that this robe sheds quite a bit. I don't mind it so much when it sheds in the dryer, but it also sheds a bit wearing it around the house (I got the black watch so I sometimes see dark blue/green dust bunnies on the floor). I still love this robe though and will wear it until it disintegrates.
I'm 5'4 ~125 lbs and got an small, which is pretty roomy. I probably could've fit an xsmall. It's also nice and long, but I have to be careful going up/down stairs (maybe a petite would've been better but I like that it covers my calves).

LOVE the fabric. Black Watch plaid is my favorite. Fit is good enough but a bit skimpy in the shoulder/back area. Bought my normal size, Petite Medium. Not a heavyweight fabric but perfect for me.

A good, warm flannel robe is considered an investment here in western NY where winters can be long and cold. Though LL Bean's pricing ranges higher than competitors, it has a reputation for high quality. So, I decided to replace my old, well-worn and well-loved flannel robe with what I hoped would be a nearly identical robe from LL Bean. The robe I received is beautiful and well-constructed. But the fabric is significantly thinner and inadequate for warmth. Whatever "pennies" may have been saved by using a lesser fabric is not worth the loss of trust in the quality and durability of your products. Disappointed and very, very sad. Not sure if I'll try to return it (a pain) or modify it with a liner (a $100 item should not need alteration). As a company based in Maine, you should know better and do better.

Have been buying LL Bean flannel belted robes for years. This is the first time we noticed a much lighter weight fabric.

The robe is not as soft and nice as my old one which is probably 20 years old.
I am a bit disappointed but will keep it anyway.

I have had an LLBean flannel robe that has lasted for years. This is not it. The belt loops are hanging loose, the flannel is not the same caliber. The pattern is nice. The price is too high for this product. I am keeping it, because I need a new robe, but am disappointed in Bean for the changes in all their flannel. I have a shirt that is pilling after a season.

Loved my llbean robes over the years. Just received a new one that is thin, no stitching trim on sleeve and front. I doubt it will hold up for the many years my others have. So disappointed. You cheaped out llbean.

I read the reviews and should have taken to heart the remarks regarding the flannel. It is truly "very light weight" ... would not be very warm. Not at all what one would think of flannel. If you hold up to the light, it shows right through. Am returning.
